The Political Economic Analysis of the Siberian Pipeline Construction (시베리아 송유관 건설의 정치경제학적 고찰)

  • The goal of the study is to analyze aggressive attempts of China and Japan to construct the Siberia oil pipeline in a direction to its advantage from the political economic perspective. The pipeline is to affect significantly energy Policies in the Northeast Asia in the future. First this Paper reviews the ongoing Processes of the Pipeline construction thus far. Next, domestic and foreign factors in Russia which are related to the laying of the pipeline, were taken into consideration. Applicability of the mercantilist and liberalist approaches to the energy supply of Russia were examined in the situation. As a result, the dualistic approach in energy supply was found to be limited in its real applicabilities and the political economic approach proved to be more suitable in that Russia currently seeks economic security in Northeast Asia. Finally the implications of the Siberia oil pipeline construction were suggested for the current energy situation in Korea.

  • The urban highway, which is a motorway constructed to solve traffic issues, has the characteristic of extremely high damage to life during traffic accidents because the speed of vehicles is higher than typical roadways. In particular, because traffic accidents involving serious injuries hold a very important place among overall traffic accidents, analysis on factors affecting the occurrence of traffic accidents involving serious injuries must be considered with priority when establishing a reduction measure. Therefore, the study built a model that was capable of distinguishing the degree of the factors as part of microscopic analysis for investigating the complex effect of many elements concerning the occurrence of traffic accidents involving serious injuries in urban highways. The results are as follows. First, discriminant model showed a comparatively high level in overall accuracy rates, and, considering the correlation ratio, the models were determined to be valid, as all characteristics of the factors were clearly distinguished. Second, the problems of traffic accidents involving serious injuries on urban highways according to each factor, were clearly drawn out through the discriminant model. Third, the improvement measure for the problems drawn out from the discriminant models were clearly proposed.

  • Globalization has brought about rapid economic, technological, and cultural changes. In order for countries around the world to communicate, recognize and understand globalization, creativity or planning ability can be used to code. In this paper, we would like to present and prove a data analysis that can solve world problems. In the global market, the value of goods or services increases with connectivity. This connection is becoming one of the factors that increase the value of culture. Changes taking this into account promoted cultural spread and innovative growth, and increased productivity and competitiveness in each region of the world. This paper compares the income of the middle class in the United States on the impact of globalization and anti-globalization on cultural spread and innovative growth. Globalization has created an environment in which various elements of K-culture can interact and spread. Through the Internet, social media, and international travel, globalization has had a positive impact on Korea's innovative growth. In areas such as economic activity, technological innovation, and creative industries, globalization has facilitated new tech and approaches, Through this, it changed the existing economic model and contributed to exports K-culture with a new middle class model. However, globalization in the cultural industry can result in the loss of regional characteristics & individuality, which can lead to the middle class cultural unification and alienation(chasm). As a result of the empirical analysis of K-exports for the middle income in the United States, cultural diffusion and innovation must be developed even in anti-globalization. With these industrial changes the soft power value of the Korean Wave proves that it can create value for use for the middle class of major exporting countries.

  • Residential space can be stated as a decisive body compositely affected by environmental, physical, social, and cultural influences. Resulting from this idea, residential space can be defined as a mirror reflecting peoples' life at that period. Therefore, it is possible to understand the social and cultural aspects of a certain era through analyzing the residential space built and used at that period. Viewing from this point, latter term of Chosun Period, as a transitional period, was a tie of collapse for the structure of middle-class society forcing its identity system to be reorganized, and of improving upon commerce, agriculture, and manual industry to enable modernization. Following this idea, the goal of this research is to analyze characteristics of higher middle class residences built at the close of 19th century in Gyeonggi province in order to bring into light the change of social structure of the period.

  • (주)동방아그로는 농업용 악제 제조 및 가공 판매 등의 사업을 영위할 목적으로 1971년에 설립된 회사다. 설립 이후 물과 6년 만인 1977년 6월, 한국거래소에 상장될 만큼 급속한 성장을 이룬 동방아그로는 안전과 환경 문제에 있어서도 철두철미한 모습을 보여 각종 대회에서 수상실적을 올렸다. 2012년 동방아그로 부여공장은 Farm Chemical International 잡지와 듀폰사가 후원하는 환경존중상(Environmental Respect Award)을 수상했다. 환경존중상은 환경보호에 탁월한 능력을 보인 기업이나 사업부 등에 수여되는 상으로 약 70여 년의 역사를 가진 전통 있는 상이다. 여기에 올해는 대한민국안전대상에서 소방방재청장상을 수상했고, 또 안전보건공단이 주최하는 명예산업안전감독관 수범사례 발표대회에서 장려상을 받기도 했다. 이 같은 수상실적을 달성할 수 있었던 데는 안전경영을 펼치고 있는 정환명 공장장의 지원이 컸다. 부여공장 정환명 공장장을 찾아 안전경영에 대한 그의 철학을 들어봤다.

Traffic Accident Reduction Effects of Section Speed Enforcement Systems(SSES) Operation in Freeways (고속도로 구간과속단속시스템 운영에 따른 교통사고 감소효과)

  • This study aims to evaluate the accident reduction effects of 'Section Speed Enforcement System' (SSES) operation in freeways. In pursuing the above, this study collects the accident data for 5 years (2 years before operation and 3 years after operation) at all 9 sections where SSESs are operated, and evaluates annually the effects before and after operation using the comparison group method (C.G. Method). The measures of effectiveness are total accidents (TAs), fatal and serious accidents (FSAs), total injuries (TIs) and fatal and serious injuries (FSIs). The main results are as follows. First, TAs and TIs are reduced to 41.7 and 17.1%, respectively. Second, FSAs and FSIs are reduced to 41.7 and 32.2%, respectively. Therefore, SSES has more effectiveness at fatal and serious accident. Third, the accident reduction effect has been increasing, and particularly the effect of 'after three years' is evaluated to be notable.
