Impacts of Payload Weights on the Cost Effectiveness of Reusable Launch Vehicles (재사용발사체의 비용 효용성에 미치는 임무중량의 영향)

  • Recently, in the space market, there has been a rapid reduction of the launch price. The major reason is that a few commercial companies, especially SpaceX, began to enter into the space market about ten years ago, which has changed the space market from monopolization to competition, and accelerated the adoption of commercial efficiency in the technology and management. Also, the successful landing and recovery of a first stage in 2016 by SpaceX proved to be a prelude to opening a new era of reusable launch vehicles, and SpaceX declared the groundbreaking launch price through using the reusable launch vehicle. This study calculates the total launch cost required to put a certain satellite into the LEO, compares the launch cost in three cases with different payload weights, and reviews the impacts of the payload on the cost effectiveness of a reusable vehicle. The total launch cost is divided into 6 subsections cost, namely development cost, production cost, refurbishment cost, operation cost, fixed-cost of factory and launch site, and insurance cost. The cost estimation relationships used in the calculation are taken from the commonly proven cost models such as TRANSCOST.

Heritabilities and Genetic Correlations on Egg Compositions in Layers (난용계의 난구함분에 관한 유전력 및 유전상관)

  • This study was conducted to estimate heritabilities, genetic and phenotypic correlations on egg compositions in layers. The data analysis were a total of 6,097 eggs in S. C. W. Leghorn and R. I. Red from March 1, 1980 to July 31, 1981. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The average albumen weight at first egg, 300 and 500 days of age were 28.67, 36.25 and 37.51g in the S. C. W. Leghorn, and 28.95, 36.01 and 36.85g in the R. I. Red, respectively. The yolk weigh at first egg ,300 and 500 days were 9.21, 15.94 and17.86g in the S. C. W. Leghorn,9.46, 16.43 and 18.54g in the R. I. Red, respectively. The shell weight at first egg, 300 and 500 days were 4.04, 5.39 and 5.40g in the S. C. W. Leghorn, and 3.66, 5.13 and 5.28g, respectively. 2. The heritability estimates based on the variance of sire and dam components were 0.631-0.164 and 0.412-0.496 in the S. C. W. Leghorn,0.234-0.563 and 0.477-0.610 in the R. I. Red for albumen weight; 0.213-0.530 and 0.343-0.613 in the S. C. W. Leghorn, 0.253-0.437 and 0.389-0.477 in the R. I. Red for yolk weight; 0.427-0.602 and 0.336-0.409 in the S. C. W. Leghorn, 0.141-0.281 in the R. I. Red for shell weight, respectively. 3. The genetic correlation coefficients of egg compositions were as follows; In the S. C. W. Leghorn and R. I. Red, the coefficients between albumen weight and yolk weight, 0.082-0.339 and 0.142-0.465; between albumen weight and shell weight, 0.674-0.952 and 0.216-0.546; between yolk weight and shell weight,0.173-0.171 and 0.121-0.749, respectively.

The Estimation of Selection Response for Growth Traits in 31-month Old of Pacific abalone, Haliotis discus hannai (31개월령 북방전복, Haliotis discus hannai의 성장형질에 대한 선발반응 추정)

  • This study was conducted to estimation the selection response for growth-related traits in 31-month old of Pacific abalone, Haliotis discus hannai were born in 2008. In overall mean of surveyed traits and standard deviation showed $76.31{\pm}7.247$ mm of shell length, $49.48{\pm}5.307$ mm of shell width and $40.96{\pm}6.80$ g of total weight. The effect of sex and maturity were statistically significant in all traits include out a condition factor (p < 0.01). And In effect of sex, female were higher than male in all traits excepting condition factor, significantly. In correlation between breeding value and phenotypic value by each traits, showed rank correlation coefficient and simple correlation coefficient, which represented low positive correlation. A hopeful genetic improvement to the next generation showed 6.96 mm of shell length, 4.47 mm of shel width and 12.93 g of total weight. Therefor, It is considered that if considering properly selection intensity and selection ratio, efficient improvement could be made.

Preliminary Study on Development of High Strength Cement Composites at 2,000kg/㎥ of Specific Weight (단위중량 2,000kg/㎥급 고강도 시멘트 복합체 개발을 위한 기초연구)

  • This study explores manufacturing technology and basic properties of high strength cement composites at 2,000kg/㎥ of specific weight. It is suggested that lightweight-high strength cement composites can be produced by substituting silica sand in ulta-high performance concrete mixture with lightweight materials such as solid bubbles and lightweight fine aggregates. The 28-day compressive strengths of cement composites with solid bubbles were from 116MPa to 141MPa at below 2.0g/㎤ of unit density while the cement composites with lightweight aggregates possessed lower compressive strength and higher unit density. The specific weight calculated from mixture proportions did not have significant difference with unit density of hardened cement composites, indicating that unit density of hardened cement composites can be estimated from the specific weight in mixture proportions.

Study of Biomass Estimation Methods for the Freshwater Cladoceran Species, Simocephalus serrulatus (Koch, 1841) (담수산 지각류 Simocephalus serrulatus (Koch, 1841) 생체량 산정 방법 연구)

  • The medium-large cladoceran species Simocephalus spp. predominantly occur in habitats with developed aquatic vegetation. Accordingly, due to Simocephalus' high contribution to zooplankton community biomass in the lake's littoral zone and wetland habitats, estimating their biomass is important to understand the matter cycling based on biological interactions within the aquatic food web. In this study, we reviewed the length-weight regression equations used previously to estimate Simocephalus biomass, directly measured S. serrulatus' body specification (length, width and area) and their biomass(dry weight) using instruments such as a microscopic digital camera and a microscale, and performed regression analysis between each other. When S. serrulatus biomass was estimated using the equation (Kawabata and Urabe, 1998) presented in 『Biomonitoring Survey and Assessment Manual』, Korea, errors between estimates and measures were relatively large compared to the S. serrulatus species-specific biomass estimate equation developed by Lemke and Benke (2003). In addition, both equations showed not only increasing trends in error (estimate-measure) with increasing S. serrulatus' body length, but also in error variance among similar-sized individuals. The results of regression analysis with dry weight by body specifications indicated that the most appropriate equation for estimating the biomass of S. serrulatus was derived from the width-dry weight exponential regression equation (R2=0.9555). The review and development study of such species-specific biomass estimation equations for zooplankton can be used as a tool to understand their role and function in aquatic ecosystem food webs.

  • The daily fluctuations of occurrence rate and standing stock of zooplankton, the relationship between dry and wet weights of gelatinous zooplankton, and the size distributions of body length and body weight of zooplankton were investigated in the sea around Cheju Island from September 1996 to August 1997. Mean ratios of wet to dry weights were 66.46 (raging from 47.05 to 84.64) in the gelatinous zooplankton and 10.89 (raging 9.21 to 14.85) in the non-gelatinous zooplankton which consisted of crustaceans such as copepods, decapods, mysids, and ostracods etc. Rarios of gelatinous zooplankton to non-gelatinous zooplankton (G/NG) in wet weight was 0.99 (0.28-2.30), indicating high occurrence rate of gelatinous in the study area. The seasonal and diel fluctuations of the gelatinous zooplankton were very large, and G/NG ratios greatly varied with seasons and dat/night cycles. The size distributions of body length of zooplankton (250-500 urn: 35.5% in maximum), and wet (0.1-0.2 mg: 34.4%) and dry weights (0.025-0.05 mg: 44.8%) showed much difference depending composition of the zooplankton groups. These results show that quantitative estimations of zooplankton produc- tivity only based on wet weight should be corrected to better understand and evaluate marine resources in Korean waters.

  • 기존의 추정된 화물 수요모형은 화물의 출하특성과 관련된 설명변수를 중심으로 추정되었으며, 이에 따라 수송수단 선택 과정에서 화주가 느끼는 실제의 인식 상황을 모형내에 적절히 반영하지 못하였다. 본 연구는 기존 연구가 갖는 한계점을 극복하고자 화주가 수송수단을 선택할 때 느끼는 인식상황을 모형 내에 적용시켜 수단 선택 특성을 분석하였다. 연구대상은 우리나라의 188개 제조업체에서 화물자동차로 출하한 내수용 화물이며, 연구의 범위도 현실 운송체계 내에서 화주의 수단선택 행태를 설명하는 단기간의 예측으로 제한하였다. 모형추정결과 우리나라의 공로화물수송을 해석하기 위해서는, 출하중량까지를 고려한 다항로짓모형 형태이면서 인식 요소를 행태변수로 추가한 모형을 이용하는 것이 가장 적절하다는 결론을 내렸다. 그리고 이에 따라 주요한 설명 변수들의 탄력성과 화주의 인식 요소에 대한 특성값을 분석하여 제시하였다. 연구결과는 활용성 측면에서 직접 활용이 가능한 것과 잠재적인 변화를 예측하는데 이용되는 것으로 구분된다. 먼저 직접활용이 가능한 것은 수송수단과 관계된 변수들을 해석하여 얻는데, 수송비용과 수송시간에 대한 계수값의 크기와 부호, 그리고 탄력성은 정부의 정책부서나 운송인의 계획수립에 직접 적용된다. 다음으로 화주의 인식 요소는 잠재적인 변화를 예측하는데 이용되며 각 요소가 갖는 탄력성 및 특징은 운송인의 고객관리 기준이된다.

A Study on Establishment of the Helicopter Initial Design Model Using the Modified Weight Estimation Equations (수정된 추정식을 적용한 헬리콥터 초기 설계 모델 정립에 관한 연구)

  • The helicopter initial design model was established by using the latest weight estimation equations based on the Tishchenko's methodology through the study existing initial design tools. The sequential decomposition method is used to reduce analysis time in the sizing. Empirical parameters of the weight estimation equation were also extracted from numerical and regression analysis for a helicopter database. Design input and output values were compared with the RISPECT design tool. Finally, comparison of the re-design resulting for several existing helicopters was presented and showed the good agreement within less than 5% in the weight estimation and main rotor sizing. Established initial design model was proved to be effectively used as initial design tool.

  • 탄소재료의 가스화속도는 근본적으로 활성자리의 수와 관련되어 있으며, 또한 가스화속도는 활성자리 뿐 아니라 확산제한에 따라 달라진다. 대부분의 탄소재료의 활성화 초기단계는 제한된 활성자리 때문에 반응속도는 느리고, 다음 단계는 총 활성자리가 증가하여 반응속도는 급격히 증가하고, 마지막으로 활성자리가 감소하여 활성화 속도는 감소한다. 이러한 sigmoidal특성을 나타내는 활성화 단계를 기공발달과정으로 설명하면, 활성화 초기에 탄소재료 내부에 이미 존재하는 닫힌 기공이 열리고, 일단 기공이 열리면 성장하게 된다. 이렇게 기공 수가 증가하는 것 뿐 아니라 기공 직경이 증가하여 활성화 과정이 진행될수록 비 표면적 및 기공부피는 증가하는데 이런 일련의 과정을 통하여 활성자리 수는 증가하고 또는 감소한다. 이렇게 기공이 발달하는 과정은 각각의 활성화 단계에서 탄소재료의 비 표면적 측정으로 알 수 있으며, 전반적인 산화속도 변화를 측정하여 반응단계를 추정하게 된다. 대부분의 연구자들은 반응 전체의 평균 산화속도를 측정한 후 활성화 에너지를 구하여 반응조절단계로 활성화 기구를 설명한다. 이 연구에서는 활성화 과정 중에 발생하는 중량감소 단계, 즉 각각의 활성화 단계에 따라 달라지는 반응속도상수를 측정하고, 반응단계별 활성화 에너지를 비교 해석하여 피치계 탄소섬유의 기공발달에 영향을 미치는 활성화 기구를 고찰하고자 하였다.

Estimation of Tension Forces of Assembly Stay Cables Connected with Massive Anchorage Block (중량 앵커리지 블록과 연결된 조립 스테이 케이블의 장력 추정)

  • In this paper, the tension of assembly stay cable connected with massive anchorage block was calculated through back analysis of in-situ frequencies measured from a stadium structure. Direct approach to back analysis is adopted using the univariate method among the direct search methods as an optimization technique. The univariate method can search the optimal tension without regard to the initial ones and has a rapid convergence rate. To verify the reliability of back analysis, Tension formulas proposed by Zui et al. and Shimada were used. Tensions estimated by three methods are compared with the design tension, and are in a reasonable agreement with an error of more or less than 15%. Therefore, it is shown that back analysis applied in this paper is appropriate for estimation of cable tension force.
