Kala-azar는 우리나라에는 분포하지 않는 것으로 인정되고 있으나 과거 중국에서 감염되어 국내에서 관찰된 보고가 있는 질병이다. 최근에 중동 지방에서 감염되어 귀국하고 발병하였다고 생각되는 예를 보고한다. 서울에 주소를 둔 26세의 한국인 남자가 1년간 사우디 아라비아에서 건설기능공으로 근무하고 1981년 9월 귀국하여 약 8개월 후인 1982년 5월 경부터 심한 피로감, 전신쇠약, 복부의 수물등을 느끼기 시작하였다. 환자가 국립서울병원을 거쳐 서울대학교병원에 1982년 9월 17일 입원할 당시에는 간과 비장이 모두 14cm정도 만져질 만큼 부어있었고, 심한 체중 감소(4개월간 14kg의 감소), 적혈구, 백혈구, 혈소판등 모든 혈구의 감소등이 관찰되었다. 간생검을 통해 amastigote가 관찰되고 이는 투사전자현미경을 통해서 전형적인 amastigote형으로 확인되었다. 환자는 국외에서 구한 약제인 sodium antimony gluconate(Pentostam )와 각종 보조요법에 의해 치료를 받았다. 퇴원 직전에 시행한 간생검에서 괴사된 간 조직이 섬유화로 대치된 것이 확인되었고 충체는 관찰되지 않았다. 이 Kala-azar 에는 1952년 만주에 유입되어 보고된 3예 이후로는 처음 관찰된 것으로 중동에서 유입된 것으로는 첫번째 보고례이다. 최근 급격히 늘어난 해외 인력진출을 감안하면 해당 지역의 열대 풍토병에 대한 다각적인 대책이 절실히 요청된다.

During reformation of the world order in the 21st century, the terrorism has been showing up as a new value and rising up as core element of determining human being's quality of lives. The middle east's terrorism is leading the international terrorism and it is originated from the religious ideology which has formed for centuries and struggles for regional influence. This is the conflict aspect coming from the opposition of religious ideologies and cultural dislocations. It concludes as confrontation between the terrorism of Islam fundamentalism and western christianity that America is leading after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. There is little prospect for an improvement of their relationship. The Terrorism supported by government might be eradicated by America's drastic anti-terrorism policy. However, it will be serious and spread all over the world that the terrorist attacks against America and western countries is acted by militant warriors of Islamic fundamentalism, uniting Arab and Islamic peoples' emotions against America. Terrorism is urgent menace to Korea and it is needed to take measures to cope with it considering their religion and people throughly.

The socio-economic and environmental systems of world are in turmoil. International conflicts are placed in their geographical context through the integration of maps. Changes in the world political map have often been the outcome of wars and conflicts associated with major geopolitical transitions. We identify five basic types--proto-nationalism, unification nationalism, separation nationalism, liberation nationalism and renewal nationalism. Political leaders in a wide range of contexts have been able to appeal to the nationalist doctrine to justify their actions. In recent years indigenous peoples have found a new voice in their struggle for survival. Although colonial empire's ending followed long and bloody struggles in some places. We really cannot understand the modem world as a whole if we do not understand the dynamic of that part of it which has endured and struggled against colonialism. The patterns of the international conflicting area are divided internal conflict type, mixed conflict type, international conflict type. The formation factors of the international conflicting area are divided ethnic group, religion, colonialism, resource, territory. There has recently been a resurgence of Islam's importance in world affairs. The oil crises of the 1970s gave new international leverage to several Muslim states.

일본 통산성 자원에너지청은 최근 1984년도 석유유통합리화조사 등의 일환으로 행해져 온 「석유가스개발가능성 조사보고서 」를 발표하였다. LP가스수입선 다변화에 도움을 주기 위해 행해진 동조사는 1982년도인 제 1회째가 동남아시아, 1983년도가 중남미, 제3회째인 1984년도는 북미 ㆍ캐나다지역을 대상으로 하고 있다. 현재 일본의 LP가스 수입정책은 중동지역에 83%를 의존하고 있는데다 그 중 과반수가 사우디아라비아 한 나라에 편중되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 이를 개선하여 수입선다변화를 도모하는 것이 안전수입의 기초라고 하는 인식이 관민에 일치되어 있다. 이와 같은 상활에서 통산성으로부터 조사위탁을 받은 일본 LP가스협외는 「석유가스개발가능성위원회」를 설치하고 작년 11월 23일 ~12월 9일 사이에 미국 및 키나다를 대상으로 양국의 LP가스의 생산동향, 수출가능성 및 경제성, 개발지점의 입지조건, 하부시설의 정비상황, 에너지사정 등에 관하여 현지조사를 실시하여 이번 보고서를 작성한 것이다. 보고서는 제1장 조사개요, 제2장 조사결과의 개요, 제3장 미국, 제4장 캐나다, 제5장 금후의 LP가스공급증가의 가능성, 「참고자료 」등의 내용으로 되어 있지만 본고는 그중 제2장 조사결과의 개요를 소개한 것이다. <편집자>

This paper presents on the project to design an academy for high-growth businesses which is taking place in the East Midlands of the UK, sponsored by the Regional Development Agency (RDA). The research aims to design and commission a learning organisation which will stimulate and support entrepreneurial leadership and management skills in growing companies. The paper attempts to build a policy framework for a learning organisation which is centred on a community of high-growth firms' owners and managers acting as a support network. This approach is compared with existing high growth development programmes and recommendations are made for the development, funding and implementation of high-growth support programmes.
