  • Studies on the deformation behavior of materials subjected to impact loads have been carried out in various fields of engineering and industry. The deformation and fracture of members for these machines/structures are known to correspond to the intermediate strain-rate region. Therefore, for the structural design, it is necessary to consider the dynamic deformation behavior in these intermediate strain-rate ranges. However, there have been few reports with useful data about the deformation and fracture behavior at intermediate strain-rate ranges. Because the intermediate strain-rate region is located between quasi-static and high strain-rate regions, it is difficult to obtain the intermediate strain-rate using conventional reasonable test equipment. To solve this problem, in this study, the measurement reliability of the constructed drop-bar impact tensile test apparatus was established and the dynamic behavior at the intermediate strain-rate range of carbon steels was evaluated by utilizing the apparatus.

A Trial to Develop Forecasting Model for Turn-out Rates with the 2010 Korean Gubernatorial Election Data (후보자 득표율 예측 모형과 지표의 구성: 2010 광역단체장 선거를 중심으로)

  • This study is to make an effective forecasting model for turn-out rates of the candidates with their visibilities, which are measured in their names on the media during the election period. I make a regressive model, with the data of 2010 gubernatorial election in Korea, where turn-out rate is dependent variable and each candidate's visibility, incumbency effect, local control party effect, corruption effect, strategy voting effect, restrain effect as a mid-term evaluation, and policy effect are independent variables. I got the model, T = -4.65 + 1.02V + 16.90 I + 16.78L - 9.12 R, where T is turn-out rate, V is candidate's visibility, I is incumbent effect, L is local control party effect, and R is restrain effect. This function can be used to predict turn-out rates of the candidates in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Korea at a small outlay.

Effect of the Combination of Point Loads on the Design Flexural Capacity for Fiber Reinforced Concrete Floor Slab (집중하중 조합에 의한 섬유 보강 콘크리트 바닥슬래브의 설계 휨 내력)

  • In this study, the flexural capacity of fiber reinforced concrete floor slabs were evaluated using main design loads, racking and moving loads. Based on design standards and guidelines, the magnitude and loaded area of each load were determined, and its relationship was assessed. For the application of a single load, flexural capacity should be evaluated in the edge of a floor slab. In addition, the slab with thickness and concrete strength, greater than 180mm and 35MPa, respectively, sufficiently satisfied flexural capacity with a minimum of equivalent flexural strength ratio. The combination of racking loads required the largest equivalent flexural strength ratio to satisfy the flexural capacity of the floor slab. The combination of racking and moving loads showed equivalent flexural strength ratio smaller than the case of combination of racking loads, but larger than the application of single racking or moving loads. The results of this study indicated that the flexure of fiber reinforced concrete floor slabs should be designed using the combination of design loads.

  • 기후변화에 따른 청미천 유역의 가뭄 특성을 평가한 연구로 가뭄의 발생은 여러 요소가 연속적인 상관관계를 이루고 있으며, 가뭄지수 산정에 내재되어 있는 복잡성 및 불확실성으로 인해 다양한 가뭄지수를 적용하였다. 그 중 기상학적 가뭄지수는 강수량을 이용하여 산정하는 SPI(Standardiz d Precipitation Index)와 강수량과 증발산량을 바탕으로 산정하는 SPEI(Standardiz d Precipitation Evaportranspiration Index), 유효토양수분량을 바탕으로 산정하는 농업학적 가뭄지수인 PDSI(Palmer Drought Severity Index), 유출량을 이용하여 산정하는 수문학적 가뭄지수인 SDI(Streamflow Drought Index)의 지속기간 3개월, 6개월, 9개월에 따른 과거(1985년부터 2015년) 및 미래(2016년부터 2099년)의 가뭄특성을 파악하였다. 미래의 경우 기후변화 시나리오인 RCP(Representative Concentration Pathway) 4.5와 8.5를 이용하였으며, 농업학적 및 수문학적 가뭄지수는 SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool) 모형 모의를 통해 산출된 결과를 토대로 산정하였다. 과거 기간의 가뭄지수 산정 결과, 2015년과 2014년이 극한 및 평균 가뭄의 평균에서 가장 극심한 가뭄을 나타냈으며, PDSI를 제외한 각 가뭄지수 간에는 높은 상관정도를 보였다. 과거를 포함한 미래 가뭄의 경우 현재(2011년부터 2020년까지), 가까운 미래(2021년부터 2040년까지), 중간 미래(2041년부터 2070년까지), 먼 미래(2071년부터 2099년까지)로 나누어 가뭄을 평가하였다. 평가 결과 현재의 경우 과거 기간의 가뭄과는 달리 2018년이 가뭄에 취약했으며, 극한 및 평균 가뭄의 평균에서 두 기후변화 시나리오는 가까운 미래와 중간미래가 취약함을 나타냈다. 상관계수의 경우 과거 결과와 마찬가지로 PDSI를 제외한 각 가뭄지수 간에 높은 상관정도를 나타냈다. 또한 빈도해석 결과 RCP 4.5에서 더 큰 변동성을 보였다. 현저히 적은 강수 및 기온 상승으로 인한 증발산량의 증가 등으로 인해 최근 들어 가뭄의 정도가 심해졌으며, 미래에는 더욱 더 심해질 전망으로 보여진다. 이를 평가하기 위해서는 본 결과에서 보듯이 각 각의 가뭄지수는 극한 가뭄의 발생 시기 및 강도에서 각기 다른 차이를 확인할 수 있기 때문에 가뭄 평가 시 다양한 형태의 가뭄지수 활용이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

  • KISA의 중소기업 정보보호 수준 자가평가를 통해 얻은 환상기업의 보안 성적표는 김 대리의 예상보다 훨씬 더 심각한 수준이었다. 정보화 규모와 정보화 의존도가 중간 수준으로 평가된 환상기업의 가장 큰 문제는 정보보호 활동을 위한 정책지침과 활동방향이 없다는 점. 환상기업의 정보보호 업무가 시작된 지 불과 3개월이 채 되지 않는다는 점을 감안해 본다면 당연한 결과였다. 그래서 김 대리의 업무 목표는 자연스럽게 환상기업의 정보보호 정책수립으로 이어지게 됐다.

Timestamp based Key Exchange Protocol for Satellite Access Network (위성환경에서의 Timestamp 기반 키 교환 프로토콜)

  • The key exchange protocols are very important to provide the secure communication in broadband satellite access network. However key exchange protocol of ETSI(European Telecommunications Standards Institute) is vulnerable to man-in-the-middle-attack by using Diffie-Hellman algorithm. And the key exchange protocol using certification is not useful in satellite environment. We propose the key exchange protocol using Timestamp which have the resistant to man-in-the-middle-attack. Proposed protocol is able to prevent the man-in-the-middle-attack by calculated time value. Also showing experiment results, we prove that proposed protocol improve memory usage, communication amount and calculation amount than other protocols.

Reconstruction of 3D Topography from Contour Line Data using Artificial Neural Networks (신경회로망을 이용한 등고선 데이터로부터 3차원 지형 복원)

  • We propose an algorithm which can reconstruct the 3D information from geographical information. The conventional techniques, the triangular patches and the Random Fractal Midpoint Displacement (RFMD) method, etc., have often been used to reconstruct natural images. While the RFMD method using Gaussian distribution obtains good results for the symmetric images, it is not reliable on asymmetric images immanent in the nature. Our proposed algorithm employs neural networks for the RFMD method to present the asymmetrical images. By using a neural network for reconstructing the 3D images, we can utilize statistical characteristics of irregular data. We show that our algorithm has a better performance than others by the point of view on the similarity evaluation. And, it seems that our method is more efficient for the mountainous topography which is more rough and irregular.
