This study aims to find out the employment effectiveness of employment preparation activities that college students experience, especially focused on analyzing employment effects of college employment-related activities such as career choice and employment support program, along with individual preparation activities such as qualification, vocational training, etc. It performed binary logistic regression analysis using 2011 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey data of 3,249 college graduates. The results showed that In college characteristics, the higher grade point average was and the more college was located in non-metropolitan area, the higher employment probability was. In the case of major field, Medicine, Education, Engineering, Social Science, Natural science in highest first order had employment probability higher than the reference group. The results showed that the number of qualification, interview skill & resume description skill program participation, and job search experience before and after graduation among employment preparation activities had an effect on employment. The rest, that is, vocational training, career employment curriculum, work experience program, career counseling program, employment camp, in-school job experience, employment goal status before graduation did not have an direct effect on employment.
The initial purpose of Affirmative Action(AA) in the U. S. was to increase access to, and ensure the equitable distribution of, opportunities for racial minority groups in order to redress past discrimination. Over the last several decades, support for AA has grown and waned as structural, political and social currents have shifted. Most recently, AA in university admissions policy was once again tested as The University of Texas at Austin successfully defended its use of AA in admissions and now faces Supreme Court review concerning the lawsuit. Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin. The purpose of this study is to illustrate the evolution of AA in university admissions reflected on major legal cases for and against it. AA is analyzed from the integrative approach based on the historical institutionalism. l.e., influenced by structure, political dynamics, institutions and critical actors.
This study aims at developing Reminiscence Function Scale-Short Form(RFS-S) and verifying it as a supplemental diagnosis instrument to judge differences between normal and mild cognitive impairment and useful measure to rate effects of reminiscence therapy in the clinical field through internal consistency reliability and criterion validity. The study also aims at figuring out factors affection reminiscence function by figuring out demographic features of RFS-S. The research subjects were the control group of 60 normal people and experimental group of 58 people with mild cognitive impairment and both groups were over 65 years old. For internal consistency reliability(Cronbach's alpha) between questions was reliable with 0.63. Convergent validities of RFS-S with SRT and CDR-SB were 0.20(p<.05) and -0.25(p<.001), respectively, as both showed significant correlations. As a result of criterion validity to analyze AUROC, it was 0.68(p<.001) and less accurate. Its optimal cut-off points were 17 and sensitivity according to them was 0.59, and specificity was 0.72, respectively. However, reminiscence function according to demographic variables did not show any significant differences. Therefore, it is expected that RFS-S will be used as a supplemental diagnosis instrument with higher reliability and validity for discerning differences between normal and mild cognitive impairment and as a useful one to verify effects of reminiscence therapy.
The purpose of this study compare the difference between purchaser of counterfeit goods and non-purchaser about how self-esteem and conformity influence upon purchase intention of luxury counterfeits goods. Until existing research on purchase intention of luxury counterfeit goods have focused on the consumers' sense of superiority such as conspicuous consumption, hedonic consumption and symbolic consumption. This thesis, however, has focused on individual's psychological variables such as self-esteem and influence of reference group. The results are as follows. The purchaser of counterfeit goods tend to depend on others heavily and show a high purchase intention. On the other hand, the non-purchaser with high self-esteem are less inclined to buy counterfeit goods, and purchase intention level will also be lowed down. This thesis tries to support the assumption that personal psychological difference exist between purchaser and non-purchaser, and this result seems to correspond with the preceding studies.

This study explored the product attributes Vietnamese mothers consider for the purchase of children's wear, the differences of product attributes between groups with different levels of conspicuous consumption, and the extent to which the Korean wave affects the purchasing behavior of children's wear brands. The results are as follows. First, the product attribute that Vietnamese mothers consider most when purchasing children's clothes is the comfort in physical activities. Fabric type and quality, sizing and fit, durability, color, child suitability, design, cutting and construction, price, fashionability, and maintenance and laundering are the other attributes (respectively) that influence the purchase of children's wear. Second, the high conspicuous consumption group considers brand, maintenance and laundering, durability, the reactions of others, and fashionability significantly more than the low conspicuous consumption group. Third, the purchase intention of Korean children's wear brands is affected by the perception of the Korean wave than the influence of the reference group or the tendency of conspicuous consumption. The results show that low prices and practicality were important considerations for children's clothing purchases by Vietnamese mothers; however, brand name and fashionability were more powerful predictors for the high conspicuous consumption group. Those with a high perception of the Korean wave also had a higher intention of Korean children's wear brand, which is indicative of the halo effect of the Korean wave. Thus, Korean children's wear brands that plan to enter the Vietnamese market should make active use of the Korean wave.
The purposes of this study were to investigate the factors related to conspicuous consumption and the effect of materialism and reference group on the conspicuous consumption. The data used in this study included 287 homemakers living in Mokpo and Kwangju,. Statistics used for data analysis were Means Frequencies One-Way Anova and Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings were as follows: 1) The factors related to conspicuous consumption were educational level of wife educational level of husband job of husband and subjective level of living 2) The factors related to materialism were age of wife and subjective level of living 3) The factors related to reference group were age of wife educational level of husband job of husband and subjective level of living 4) Materialism and reference group had positive effects on conspicuous consumption 5) The effect of reference group was the most influencial factor.

This study assumes a bidimensional model of acculturation theory in order to understand the acculturation patterns of Korean-Americans and their fashion and shopping behavior. Bidimensional models of acculturation suggest that acculturating individuals may possess the components of both the heritage culture and the new, host culture. A combination of email and paper and pencil surveys was conducted with a convenience sample of Korean-Americans who are living in Seattle and vicinity area (n=108). The questionnaire included questions related to the respondents' and their parents' demographic information, the respondents perceived relationship with their parents, self-reported ethnic identification, ethnicity-related behaviors/attitudes, clothing involvement, shopping motivations, and fashion reference groups. The results support the bidimensional models of acculturation process as opposed to the linear model. Three different groups among Korean-Americans based on their ethnic identification pattern were found: a group with dominant Korean identity(Segregation group), a group with dominant American identity(Assimilation group), and a group with dual identity(Integration group). According to the results of MANOVA and subsequent Duncan and Scheffe tests, the Integration group showed distinct characteristics from Segregation group or Assimilation group, in terms of their ethnicity-related behaviors/attitudes, clothing involvement, shopping motivations, and fashion reference group influence.

Objective:This study aims to investigate the cognitive characteristics of clinically referred children with symptoms of inattention, cach as having ADHD, tic disorder, and emotional disorder. Methods:65 boys(38 with ADHD, 17 with Tic disorder, and 10 with Emotional disorder) were individually assessed using the KEDI-WISC(FIQ, VIQ, PIQ) and T.O.V.A.(errors of omission, errors of commission, reaction time, variability, anticipatory response, multiple response), and the results of those tests were analyzed. Results:There was significant difference among three diagnostic groups of the VIQ of KEDIWISC and the reaction time of T.O.V.A. after the correction of the effect of age difference. Conclusion:The findings suggest that the reaction time of T.O.V.A. might be the useful variable to differentiate the ADHD from other psychiatric disorders and the effect of age and IQ difference should be considered carefully to diagnose in clinical setting.

There have been a growing number of studies that show huge discrepancies between individuals' perceptions of relative economic position and the economic position based on the reported income in the survey. If this is the case, it is expected that the impact of perceived income status on individual happiness can be different from that of objective income status based on the reported income. The aim of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the discrepancies between perception and reality with respect to relative income status, focusing on the 'Reference group theory'. This study also tries to extend existing knowledge of the relative status on the happiness level of individuals, by examining how individual's happiness can be changed by providing the accurate information about their objective income level. There are systematic biases in perceived income status. A majority of people who actually rank in the lower part of income ladder place themselves in higher positions, while a significant portion of rich individuals underestimate their actual income status. Secondly, the misperception about the income distribution is affected by a variety of individual, household characteristics and reference group income. Thirdly, providing individuals with accurate information has a considerable effect on their happiness level.
This study aims to explore emotional closeness between grandparents and grandchildren in Korean families with a focus on the lineage. The effects of the geographical proximity and the normative aspect as well as intergenerational financial, instrumental, and emotional supports were taken into consideration to accounting for the grandparent-grandchildren affective solidarity. Research questions are addressed using the data of "Survey on Generational Solidarity and Differences in Cultural Experience and Perception in Korea", and a series of multinomial regression model were conducted. Findings indicate that the salient factor to boost grandchildren's affective solidarity with paternal grandparents is financial transfers between grandparents and parents. By contrast, all types of intergenerational supports affected grandchildren's emotional closeness toward maternal grandparents. Geographical proximity was associated with the affective solidarity between grandchildren and maternal grandparents. The effects of normative solidarity were not shown at both lineages.
