  • The Battery Energy Storage System(BESS) can help the load factor improved by discharging the battery energy when the load is peak in the daytime. BESS has the advantages such as spinning reserve, control of voltage and frequency, deferment of investment for generation and transmission capacity construction, and reliability improvement of utility power service. To develop BESS and to apply it to Korea's power system, economic evaluation must be preceded. In this paper, we analyzed the investment costs, by modifying and complementing the Sysplan Model, through the economic assessment.

Performance Analysis on Adaptive Modulation Systems with Multislot Allocation for Multimedia Communications (멀티미디어 통신에 있어서 멀티슬롯 할당을 이용한 적응변조방식에 관한 성능해석)

  • This paper proposes an adaptive multislot allocation algorithm in order to achieve large system capacity and higher throughput data transmissions. The proposed system is the combination of the slow adaptive modulation system, in which the base station dynamically a signs optimum modulation parameters measuring the CNR(carrier to noise power ratio) of each transmission terminal, and the multislot allocation scheme, in which the base station flexibly allocates an appropriate number of TDMA data slots according to the instantaneous load conditions. Computer simulations confirm that the proposed system can tremendously improve average message delay characteristics in comparison with the conventional fixed slot allocation method.

  • This paper analyzes the spectral power properties of various time hopping UWB signals and shows that the power spectral densities of the various signals could have to be determined by the PSD of the pulse used in the signal. The pulse design method by which the FCC emission mask can be utilized fully is proposed. The method combines the arbitrary derivative Gaussian pulse linearly. The coefficients of the linear combination are calculated by the LSE(Least Square Error) method. Various parameters such as the number of coefficients and the types of the basic pulses are considered when calculating the PSD and pulse shapes of the new pulses.

  • In this study, a OFDM mode, unlike traditional single carrier mode, is that a great number of carrier in multi-channel environment is transmitted by modulating objective Data parallel in order to execute high speed Data translation and make frequency orthogonal to offer high spectrum efficiency. As a result, this method is adopted to a variety of fields and is being actively studied. In this papers, the efficiency of OFDM wireless-communication systems is evaluated by modulation methods through computer simulation. M-PSK and M-QAM are used as modulation methods. The simulation is executed in a real channel and a virtual channel included multi-path, AWGN, Peak Power clipping, Frame Start Time Error As a result of simulation, it is confirmed that M-QAM method is superior to M-PSK in OFDM systems in terms of the transmission methods.

An Efficient Channel Estimation Method in MIMO-OFDM Systems (MIMO-OFDM 시스템에서 효율적인 채널 추정 방식)

  • In this paper, the Walsh coded orthogonal training signals for 4 × 4 multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems are designed and the channel estimation equations are derived as a closed form, taking account of the inter training signal interference problems caused by the multi-path delayed signals. The performances of the proposed channel estimation method are analyzed and compared with the conventional methods[9,14] by using computer simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed methods has better performances, compared with the conventional methods[9,14]. As a result, the proposed method can be used for MIMO-OFDM systems with null sub-carriers.

  • $SF_6$ 가스로 절연되는 GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear)는 매우 우수한 신뢰성을 확보하고 있지만 사고 발생 시 파급효과가 매우 크므로 상시 감시할 수 있는 진단기술이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 GIS 내부에서 발생하는 신호를 검출하기 위해서 전기적인 방법과 비전기적인 측정 법을 통해 전자파. 초음파, 전류펄스를 측정하고 비교하였다. GIS 내부알루미늄도체에 침 결함을 고정시켜 전원전압 인가 시 발생되는 부분방전신호를 UHF, AE, CT센서로 검출하였다. 측정 결과 UHF센서와 CT센서로 검출되어진 신호는 매우 유사하게 측정되었고 초음파와 전자파를 검출한 결과 진행속도 차이로 발생되는 시간지연현상이 발생되었다. GIS내 부분방전발생 시 발생되는 전자파 스펙트럼 분석결과도 650MHz에서부터 935MHz까지의 주파수대역이 측정되었다. 이후에는 현장에서 운전중인 GIS내부에서 발생되는 결함들을 실제와 가깝게 모델링하여 발생되는 부분방전신호를 스펙트럼 분석하여 대역에 맞는 UHF센서 개발에 노력하고자 한다. 또한 결함의 종류와 형태에 따라 다르게 발생되는 부분방전신호를 검출하여 측정하고 이를 진단하는 연구가 계속 진행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

A Measurement of Target Displacement by Using GB-SAR Interferometry and Atmospheric Correction (GB-SAR의 간섭기법을 통한 물체의 변위 측정 및 대기보정)

  • 본 논문에서는 GB-SAR의 간섭기법을 이용하여 물체의 변위 측정에 대한 정밀도를 조사하였으며, 또한 대기보정을 거친 후 정밀도의 변화에 대해서 확인하였다. GB-SAR 시스템에서 안테나는 중심주파수 5.3 GHz, 밴드 폭 600 MHz인 C밴드 안테나를 사용하였고, 신호의 증폭을 위해 마이크로파 앰프를, 다편파 측정 및 분석을 위하여 스위치를 장착하였다. 레일의 총 길이는 5 m, 이동간격은 5 cm, 최대 관측 거리는 약 200 m이다. 변위 측정에 사용된 이동산란체는 trihedral corner reflector로서, 시스템 전방 약 160 m에 위치하며 시스템 방향으로 1 mm에서 40 mm 전진시켰다. 이동산란체의 실제 변위와 GB-SAR 시스템의 위상변화로 관측된 변위의 상관계수는 편파에 따라 0.9995에서 0.9996으로 나타났다. 마이크로파의 전파과정에서 거리와 습도에 따른 지연 효과를 고려하기 위하여 대기보정식을 구하였으며, 이를 이동산란체의 위상에 적용한 결과 상관계수는 0.9997에서 0.9999의 값을 나타냈고 40 mm 이동시 오차가 1 mm 이내를 나타냄으로서 대기보정을 통한 결과가 더 높은 정밀도를 나타냄을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose the adaptive multibeamforming algorithm to remove the same subcarrier interference and multipath signals in the MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Out)-OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access)system allocated the same subcarrier partially in order to improve spectrum efficiency. In addition to removing the interference, we can get diversity gain and combat the detriment of the performance according to time delay by the proposed approach. BER performance improvement and combating the delay spread detrimental effects of the proposed approach is investigated through computer simulation by applying it to MIMO-OFDMA.

  • It is very important to analyze and predict the propagation characteristics of LEO communication satellite at the service area using computer simulation. In this paper, the propagation characteristics of a satellite communication system are analyzed using ray tracing technique. We predicted the receiving environment and obtain the delay profile and total received power at each position using ray tracing method by changing both the azimuth and elevation angles after establishing the imaginary receiving space. The final goal of this paper is to analyze and understand the wave propagation characteristics of the satellite communication network about 2 GHz frequency band. The prediction method presented in this paper may help us to design satellite transceiver system and to construct a satellite communication network.
