Wireless devices can communicate between each other without existing infrastructure in mobile Ad-hod network. Ad hoc networks can be used under difficult conditions, where it is difficult to construct infrastructures, such as shadowing areas, disaster areas, war area, and so on. In order to support to considerable and various wireless services, more spectrum resources are needed. However, efficient utilization of the frequency resource is difficult because of spectrum scarcity and the conventional frequency regulation. Ad-hoc networks employing cognitive radio (CR) system that guarantee high spectrum utilization provide effective way to increase the network capacity. In this paper, to improve detection performance of the energy detection which is widely used in CR based ad-hoc network, we propose multiple antenna system for CR based ad-hoc networks.

This study is to consider the major policy issues related to 3DTV in terms of the platform projects, not the terminal and equipment manufacture. It reviews what problems the 3D policy in terms of the platform projects has posed so far, and discusses the issues that may appear when the 3D TV is commercialized in the broadcasting market. The major issues dealt in the study include the frequency policy of the terrestrial platform, the additional services activation of the pay platform players, the retransmission policy of terrestrial broadcasting, and the advertising market policy.

We address the frequency management in the IMT-2000 CDMA system. The system characteristics such as multiple classes of services, multiple kinds of channels with different bandwidths, overlaid cell structure, etc. are examined to make way for the problem definition. The problem is formulated as a constrained optimization model, the objective of which is to consume as narrow bandwidth as possible while satisfying various multimedia demands with required QOSs. A solution algorithm is developed which generates two sets of optimal decisions: 1) which combination of service classes to assign to each cell, 2) which set of frequency channels of varying bandwidths to allocate to each cell. The effectiveness of the proposed deployment policy is demonstrated via computational experiments.

Recently, emotional contents that induce emotions and respond to emotions are given attention in the field of cultural industries, and extracting emotion caused by multimedia contents is being noted. Furthermore, since multimedia contents have been quickly produced and distributed these days, researches automatically to extract the feeling of multimedia contents are being accelerated. In this paper, we will study the method of emotional value extraction in the multimedia contents using the volume value of the multimedia contents in a certain frequency among sound informations. This study allows to extract the emotion of multimedia contents automatically, and the extracted information will be used to provide user's current emotion, weather, etc. for the users.

최근 국가의 무형자산인 전파자원에 대한 수요가 급증하면서 전파자원의 희소성과 경제적 가치가 점점 높아지고 있다. 이에 미국, 유럽, 일본 등 해외 선진국은 정기적으로 전파이용자의 활용 현황을 조사하고 있으며, 그 결과를 전파정책 수립을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고 있다. 이에 본 조사는 국내 전파이용 기업들을 대상으로 무선기기 산업 현황 및 주파수 활용 실태를 파악하고, 그동안 부진했던 무선기기 제품의 활성화 및 전파이용에 대한 제도개선과 지원방안을 모색하고자 시행하였으며, 이를 통해 전파산업육성에 있어서 중요한 지표가 될 수 있는 아이템의 체계적인 발굴 및 전략적 시사점을 제시하였다.

최근 주파수 자원에 대한 수요가 급증하면서 효율적으로 이용하기 위한 정책적 기술적 개선이 요구되고 있다. 기존까지의 정부 주도적인 명령과 통제 방식은 감소되고 시장 경제 원리를 도입한 시장 기반 방식과 주파수를 공유하여 다수의 이용자가 사용할 수 있도록 하는 공유 방식이 증가되고 있으며, 지능형 SDR 개념인 CR 기술이 등장하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 스펙트럼 관리 현황과 문제점을 살펴보고, 차세대 융합통신 환경에 적합한 스펙트럼 관리 모델과 핵심 이슈들을 소개하였다. 또한 Beyond IMT - Advanced를 지향하는 CRS에서 제공되어야 할 것으로 전망되는 동적 스펙트럼 할당, 통합 무선자원 관리, 동적 스펙트럼 접속 등과 같은 스펙트럼 및 무선 자원의 효율적 이용방식에 관한 표준화와 기술 동향에 대하여 기술하고자 한다.

이동전화 시장이 급격히 팽창하면서 이동전화 시장을 개방하는 문제가 각국 규제당국의 과제로 등장하고 있다. 이동전화 특성상 주파수 부족으로 신규면허를 통한 시장 진입에 한계가 있기 때문에 주파수를 배정하지 않고도 이동전화사업에 진입을 허용함으로써 이동전화 시장에 경쟁을 확대하는 다양한 방안이 모색되고 있다. 이미 call by call 방식의 사업자 선택제와 사업자 사전선택제(carrier preselection) 제도가 유럽 각국을 중심으로 활발히 전개되고 있으며 가상이동망 사업자 (MVNO)에게 망 개방을 의무화한 사례도 등장하고 있다. 이러한 국제적 동향과는 달리 국내의 경우 이동전화시장은 이동망 사업자 이외에는 진입이 불가능한 상태로 경쟁이 활성화되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 본 고에서는 유럽제국을 중심으로 이동망 개방실태를 살펴보고 그 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

본 논문은 모바일 시스템의 에너지소비를 줄이기 위하여 CPU와 WNIC의 상호영향과 응용의 종류를 고려한 시스템 레벨 동적 전력 제어 매커니즘을 제시한다. 제시되는 매커니즘은 CPU의 전압과 주파수의 변화에 따라 WNIC이 소모하는 전력이 영향을 받는다는 현상과 무선 네트워크를 사용하는 응용의 종류에 따라 효율적인 CPU의 전압과 주파수와 WNIC의 전력 모드가 다르다는 점에 기초하여 무선 네트워크를 사용하는 응용의 종류에 따라 적절한 CPU, WNIC의 전력 모드를 효과적으로 판단한다. 실험결과는 기존의 단순히 CPU와 WNIC의 DVFS와 DPM을 결합한 정책에 비해 제시되는 매커니즘은 BE응용, CBR응용, 그리고 Telnet 응용에 대해서 각각 평균 8%, 3%, 그리고 16%의 에너지 절약 효과를 보였다.

Recently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications(MIC) of Japan announced the policies for effective use of spectrum in the 2010s based on the developments of spectrum usage technology, at the same time resolving the social issues in Japan. In Aug. 2010, the establishment of "special white space areas" was suggested to promote the systematization of white space, and a prior model for actualizing the suggestion was published. Also, Action Plan for the frequency reorganization toward building wireless broadband. This paper investigates the future image of the services and systems in the 2010s and surveys the background of the implementing radio wave policy, the major strategy and the policy directions published by MIC of Japan. The contents suggested by this paper contribute to formulating domestic spectrum policies and to promoting the usage and application of spectrum.
