  • Methods of damage detection are used non-destructive test in concrete structures. These are using various sensors, but the most of damage detections are used a visual angle of human. Problems of crack damage detection are occurred to directions and boundary conditions of steel bars using accelerometer in concrete element. In this study, fundamental studies for estimation using 3 axial type of accelerometer and electric resistance property of thermocouple sensors are discussed estimation to effect of arranged steel bars and damage from low strength when they are oscillated elastic wave in concrete specimen.

  • With the introduction of working 5 days a week, people who are participating in sports activity has been increased so rapidly, therefore sports related injuries also has continued to grow. Among winter sports, snowboard has been gaining popularity among adolescents and young adults. But, snowboard related injuries, especially spinal injuries, has been rarely documented. We report a case of lumbar compression fracture following snowboard injury.

  • 종래의 발파진동의 분석은 주로 대상 지장물에 대한 피해한계를 정립시키고자 하는 관점에서 발파공에서 비교적 원거리의 진동특성을 이해하기 위해 수행되어져 왔으나, 최근의 추이는 발파공 주변 암반의 손상의 정도를 평가하고자 하는 관점에서 그 분석영역의 범위가 근거리 진동특성 연구분야로 확대되고 있는 실정이다. 특히, 터널 발파작업시 여굴의 발생, 암반사면의 안정성 검토 등의 목적으로 암반의 손상영역을 평가하는데 있어서, 기초자료로 활용하고자 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 암반손상의 평가를 위한 손상권 예측방법에는 여러 가지가 있으나, 그 중에서 대부분이 발파진동속도에 근거하고 있으며, 평가를 위한 진동의 예측은 기존에는 원거리 진동특성을 이용하여 근거리 진동을 예측하는 방법으로 그 손상의 정도를 평가하였으나, 최근의 추세는 계측기의 발달로 수m 이내의 진동특성의 계측이 가능하게 되었다. 이와 관련하여 국외에서는 수차례의 실험결과가 여러 문헌에서 보고되고 있으나, 실험장비의 선택 및 측정방법의 어려움 등의 연유로 국내에서는 아직까지 실시되지 못하고 있는 상황이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 실제 발파공 근접진동(near field vibration) 계측을 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하여 추후 지속적인 근거리 진동측정 방법 및 평가방법에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였으며, 무엇보다도 어떻게 계측할 것인가 하는 계측방법 및 그 계측결과의 분석방법에 대해 문제점 파악 및 향후 보완점에 대해 비중을 두어 수행하였다.

  • The neck laceration is one of the most dangerous & emergent condition which is encounted by the otolaryngologist in emergency room. For the purpose of rapid & adequate management, we analyzed the clinical datum of 28 patients who visited our emergency room & were managed by the otolaryngologist from Jan.1987 to Mar.1993. The incidence was the highest in drunken males of third & forth decades who arrived at emergency room in night, especially AM 2:00. The most common cause & injured site were stabbing by broken glasses & Lt. submandibular area. Most patients were recovered by primary suture without any complications.

  • A constitutive model based on a combination of a micromechanics-based weakened interface elastic model (Lee and Pyo, 2007) and a crack nucleation model (Karihaloo and Fu, 1989) is proposed to predict the effective elastic behavior of particle-reinforced composites. The model specifically considers imperfect interfaces in particles and microcracks in the matrix. To exercise the proposed constitutive model and to investigate the influence of model parameters on the behavior of the composites, numerical simulations on uniaxial tension tests were conducted. Furthermore, the present prediction is compared with available experimental data in the literature to verify the accuracy of the proposed constitutive model.

  • The infrapatellar fat pad (IPFP) is one of three fat pads located about the anterior knee. Injury in this region is relatively common. Damage to the IPFP is caused mostly by an iatrogenic injury from a surgical procedure or repeated small collision trauma. The authors experienced a case of an IPFP injury, that has not been reported in the domestic or international literature. In this case, acute IPFP separation followed by a contusion at the anterior aspect of knee in the kneeling position, confirmed using magnetic resonance imaging. The patient was fully recovered with conservative treatment.

Ultrasound-guided Intervention in Cervical Spine (경추부 초음파 유도하 중재술)

  • Traditionally, cervical interventions have been performed under fluoroscopy. But radiation exposure is the major concern when obtaining fluoroscopic images and even under real-time fluoroscopy with contrast media or CT guidance, some cases of serious spinal cord injuries, cerebellar and brain stem infarction have been reported by unintentional intra-arterial injections especially during the transforaminal root blocks. Recently, the use of ultrasound-guided cervical interventions have increased. Ultrasound offers visualization of soft tissues including major neurovascular structures and also allows to observe the spread of injectant materials around the target structure. Ultrasound is radiation free, easy to use and the image can be performed continuously while the injectant is visualized in real-time, increasing the precision of injection. Importantly, ultrasound allows visualization of major nerves and vessels and thus leads to improve safety of cervical interventions by decreasing the incidence of injury or injection into nearby vasculature. We therefore reviewed to investigate the feasibility of performing cervical interventions under real-time ultrasound guidance.

Fatigue Analysis for Newly Installed Blade Antenna of Aging Aircraft (노후 항공기 신규 블레이드 타입 안테나 장착에 따른 피로 해석 연구)

  • In this study, as a part of the aging aircraft performance improvement project for which no design information is provided, a new type of blade antenna is installed on the main part of the aging aircraft, and the method of proving the fatigue life of the main part of the aircraft is reviewed and summarized. There are various methods to prove fatigue life according to the manufacturer and aircraft design conditions. The fatigue life prediction and damage tolerance range of the relevant site were obtained through related regulations and industry examples. From these results, the fatigue life of newly installed antennas around the main parts of the aging aircraft was evaluated and the maintenance period and criteria were set according to the damage tolerance.

  • 당뇨병성 신증은 당뇨병의 제 3대 합병증 중 하나로 당뇨병환자가 사망하게 되는 주요 원인중 하나이다. 신장합병증의 경우 당뇨병환자의 약 30%에게서 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 발생 후 말기신부전증까지 진행이 되면 투석을 받아야 하기 때문에 환자들이 두려워하는 합병증 중 하나이며, 삶의 질적인 면에서도 손상이 커 혈당조절이 안정적으로 관리해서 신장합병증에 걸리지 않도록 예방하는 것이 가장 중요하다.

  • An intelligent performance diagnostic computer program of a gas turbine using the NN(Neural Network) was developed. Recently on-condition performance monitoring of major gas path components using the GPA(Gas Path Analysis) method has been performed in analyzing of engine faults. However because the types and severities of engine faults are various and complex, it is not easy that all fault conditions of the engine would be monitored only by the GPA approach. Therefore in order to solve this problem, application of using the NNs for learning and diagnosis would be required. Among then, a BPN (Back Propagation Neural Network) with one hidden layer, which can use an updating learning rate, was proposed for diagnostics of PT6A-62 turboprop engine in this work.
