Molecular Identification of Sagittaria trifolia and S. aginash Based on Barcode (바코드에 의한 보풀속(Genus Sagittaria L.) 보풀과 벗풀의 동정)

  • Since sulfonylurea (SU) herbicide-resistant Monochoria korsakowii in Seosan reclaimed land in 1998 was reported first, herbicide-resistant weed species and their area of occurrence have been steadily increasing. In recent years, Sagittaria trifolia resistant to SU herbicides has been reported in Gimhae, Gyeongnam province. While collecting S. trifolia for constructing barcode database of major weeds we were suspicious by the continuous variation in the leave morphology of the species. In order to identify the S. trifolia from S. aginash we barcoded the species collected from domestic using ITS and compared the sequence variation with the ITS sequences of S. aginash downloaded from NCBI. As a result, it was found that the plants collected from the domestic did not have any variation among individuals although they showed wide morphological variation. On the other hand, interspecific variation between S. trifolia and S. aginash was 4.6%. Plants that are difficult to identify using morphological characters can be identified quickly and accurately using the barcode technique. Herbicide-resistant weeds may require different management practices depending on the species even in the same genus. Domestic herbicide-resistant weeds are steadily increasing. Therefore, accurate identification of these species must be preceded for effective weed control.

Isolation and Identification of Contaminated Organisms on Dried Persimmon (곶감으로부터의 오염미생물 분리 및 동정)

  • In this study, we isolated microorganisms from dried persimmon in Sangju and obtained 15 strains of microorganisms as the basic research to prevent the quality changes during drying and storage of dried persimmon. Contaminated microorganisms were separated using seven species of medium. Viable cell counts of dried persimmon from Sangju was $5.18{\times}10^2{\sim}1.68{\times}10^7$ CFU/g. Green mold K2-1 accounted for the highest percentage in the contaminated dried persimmons and identified as a major causative microorganism. Light violet and creamy yeasts were the second largest contaminated microorganisms. Green mold K2-1 strain was identified as Penicillium sp. and fungus K-1 and K-3 were identified as Caldosporium sp. and Aspergillus sp.

한국산 Synaphobranchidae과 어류 1 미기록종, Dysomma anguillare

  • 우리 나라의 서해안과 남해안을 중심으로 분포하는 뱀장어 목(Anguilliformes) 어류는 현재 종 분포가 다양하게 알려져 있지는 않지만, 지금까지 5과 22종, 즉 Anguillidae과(2종), Muraenidae과(4종), Ophichthyidae과(6종), Congridae과(8종), Muraenesocidae과(2종)가 보고되어 왔다(정, 1977; 김과 김, 1997). 최근 Lee and Asano(1997)는 서해 갯벌지대에 서식하는 Ophichthus rotundus를 확인하여 신종으로 보고한 바 있으나, 지금까지 본 뱀장어 목 어류에 대해서는 분류학자들의 관심이 비교적 적었던 분류군에 해당된다. 이번에 전라북도 서해안에서 채집된 뱀장어 목 어류를 분류해 본 결과, 본 종은 현재까지 우리 나라에서 보고된 적이 없었던 Synaphobranchidae과 어류의 Dysomma anguillare로 동정되었기에 본 종의 분류학적인 주요 특징을 조사하여 보고하고자 한다.   • 1987년 9월 30일부터 1988년 3월 26일까지의 조사기간과 조사기간 이전에 제주도의 10개 지소에서 채집된 표본들을 동정하고 문헌상의 기록들을 종합하여 제주도 새우류의 분류목록을 작성하였다. 이 분류목록에는 12과 26종( 또는 아종) 이 포함되어 있다. 이 중에서 Palaemon(Palaemon) gravieri 와 Pandalus danae는 제주도에서 처음 기록되는 종들이다. 제주도의 새우류 26종은 한국기지종 83종 (또는 아종) 의 31%에 해당되며 26종 중에서 6종 ( 4%)은 제주도에서만 기록되었다. 2종의 담수종을 제외한 24종의 해양종중에서 9종 (37.5%) 이 남방형이었다.

  • The echinoderms collected from 20 localities of Geojedo Island and its adjacent sea waters during the period from February 1995 to May 1998 turned out to be 47 species in 37 genus, 25 familes, 11 orders, three classes. Of which one echinoid species, Prionocidaris baculosa (Lamarck, 1816) is newly added to the Korean fauna of Geojedo Island with 25 previously known species and total 47 species are described in this report.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the Chinese and Baek-Seok chive. We collect the volatile components of Chinese and Baek-Seok chive by dynamic head space method. Chinese chive was analyzed by Gas chromatography-Mass Spectrometry(GC-MS). 28 components including 20 sulfides, 5 alcohols, 1 benzene and 2 aldehydes compounds were identified in samples, Also Baek-Seok chive was analyzed by GC-MS. 32 components including 19 sulfides, 10 alcohols, 2 benzonoides and 1 aldehyde compounds were confirmed.

  • Taxonomic study for the comantulid crinoids collected from Korea Strait was conducted. A oligophreatan species, Parametra orion (A. H. Clark, 1907) belonging to the family Thalassometridae, was identified and turned out to be new to the Korean fauna. The family Thalassometridae is newly reported in Korea.

  • 과수 및 원예식물을 가해하는 나무좀류를 확인하기 위해 1980-82년간 기주식물별로 분포상태를 조사하였으며 동정된 6종, 미동정 1종을 정리하였고 이들중 Cryphalus malus Nijima, Hypothenemus eruditus Westwood와 Xylesandrus borealis Nobuchi 등 3종은 우리나라 미기록종이었다.

  • The cyclopoid specimens collected from various freshwater habitats at 141 locations in South Korea during the period from May 1983 to May 1989 are identified into 25 species or subspecies of 12 generain family Cyclopidae, and the seventeen species newly reported from Korea are redescribed and figured.
