  • A newly recorded species, Fimbristylis hookeriana Boeckeler, was found in Gyema-ri, Hongnongeup, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do and Munyeo-do Is., Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do, Korea. Fimbristylis hookeriana is closely related to F. dichotoma, which has ovoid spikelets, deciduous scales, pubescent culms, and short style. However, this species is distinguished by very narrowly ovoid spikelets, persistent scales, glabrous culms, and long style. We propose a new Korean name, 'Ba-Wi-Ha-Neul-Ji-Gi', meaning that this inhabits on dried rocks near seashore. Redescription, illustrations, photographs, table, and a key to species of the Fimbristylis Vahl in Korea are provided.

  • Genera Mesochra and Elaphoidella have been studied as one of the serial studies on the taxonomy of the family Canthocamptidae in South Korea. As a result of it, two species of Mesochra and three species of Elapholidella are added to Korean fauna: M. alaskana Wilson, M. suifunensis Borutskii, E. grandidieri (Guerne and Richard), E. bidens (Schmeil) and E. superpedalis Shen and Tai. A key to the species of the genera Mesochra and Elaphoidella known from Korea is prepared.

  • Marine harpacticoid copepods of the genus parathalestris, which are suspected as a chief cause of pinholes or galls of cultivated seaweeds like Undaria pinnatifida, are studied taxonomically. As a result of examining the specimens from 23 localities in Korea since 1989, the authors confirmed sic species of the genus Parathalestris including a new species, P. parviseta n. sp., and four species new to korean fauna: P. bulbiseta Lang, 1965; P. verrucosa Ito, 1970; P. pacificus Tschislenko, 1971 and P. arelata Ito, 1972. A key to these six species of parathalestris was made out, with the illustrations for them.
