  • This study was carried out for the optimum predegumming in the protease degumming process of silk fabrics by ocmparing the physical properties of silk fabrics degummed with different weight losses of predegumming. 1. In twill habutai, the stiffness of fabric was reduced and the smoothness was improved with increasing weight loss of predegmming, however, the soft feeling value which means the total handle value of medium fabric for lady, was maximum at 20% of predegumming weight loss. 2. In the case of crepe de chine representing thin fabric for lady, the anti-drape stiffness was relatively increased with 22% weight loss of predegumming. However, the other physical properties, such as the flexibility with soft feeling were less related to the degrees of predegumming.

Susceptibility of the Predatory Mite, Phytoseiulus persimilis (Acari: Phytoseiidae) to Several Insecticides (칠레이리응애의 살충제에 대한 감수성)

  • Susceptibility of the predatory mite, Phytoseiulus persimilis to 8 insecticides was evaluated. In treatments with insecticides tested, 78-92% of adult female predators survived after 168 hrs after treatment. Adult female predators treated with insecticides tested produced 62.6-93.4% as many eggs as did control females and eclosion of eggs deposited by treated predators was not affected. Moreover, hatch percentage of P. persimilis eggs and survival of nymphs were not seriously affected by exposure to the insecticides tested. Immatures of P. persimilis survived on the leaf disc treated with insecticides tested and 98-100% of immature predators reached adulthood. Based on the results, insecticides tested are expected to be promising candidates for use in integrated pest management program with P. persimilis.

  • Previous findings on Social Loafing indicated that Social Loafing explained the organizational commitment, that the lower level of Social Loafing they had, the higher performance they would have, and that it is a useful index for effectiveness of the organization. This study explored the Police Organizational culture & Organizational Commitment on Social Loafing. The Police officers' Police Officer's Organizational culture & Organizational Commitment and Social Loafing has been measured, and then how Organizational culture & Organizational Commitment affects Police Officer's Social Loafing has been examined. The study results may be used as a theoretical basis to assert the need of Organizational culture & Organizational Commitment to decrease the Police Officer's Social Loafing. Independent variable is Police Officer's Social Loafing and Dependent variable is comprises 2 categories; Police Organizational culture(The group culture, The hierarchical culture, The developmental culture, The rational culture), & the Organizational Commitment(Affective Commitment, Continuance Commitment, Normative Commitment). The result of analysis showed that The group culture & Normative Commitment influenced in Social Loafing(positive), and The Rational culture, Affective Commitment, & Continuance Commitment in Social Loafing(negative).

Factors Affecting the Nursing Intention of Nurses for AIDS Patients (AIDS 환자 간호의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to examine the causal relationships among knowledge, stigma prejudice, attitude, social interaction which are factors affecting the Nursing Intention for AIDS patients. Method : Data were collected from June 20 to August 10, 2012, 268 nurses in general hospital located in and outside of Seoul, who were selected using convenience sampling. For hypothesis testing, the collected data were analyzed using AMOS 19. Results : Analysis of the path coefficients in this study showed that 41% of the variation in Nursing Intention could be explained by variation in the model. Social Interaction and Attitude directly affected the Nursing Intention. Social Interaction was found to be the most important predictive factor to explain Nursing Intention. Conclusion : This study found that there are need to increase possibility of social interaction and make positive changes in attitude toward AIDS patient care in order to improve Nursing Intention.

Effect of UV-Absorber Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of Cotton Fabrics (자외선 차단 가공에 의한 면직물의 역학적 특성 변화)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 자외선 차단 가공 처리 및 자외선 조사처리에 의해 면직물의 역학적 특성 변화를 조사하고 가공제 처리조건에 따른 차이점을 분석하는 것이다. 시료로는 100% 면직물을, 자외선 흡수제로 2,2'-dihydroxy-4,4'-dimethoxy benzophenone을, 첨가제로 Triton X-100, polyethylene glycol 400, MgCl$_2$.6$H_2O$를 사용하였다. 자외선 흡수제 처리는 Atlas Launder-O-meter로 75$^{\circ}C$에서 60분간 흡진법으로 하였다. 미처리 시료 및 처리시료는 모두 xenon 램프에 80시간 동안 노출되었으며, 자외선 조사 전후 시료의 역학적 특성은 KES-F시스템을 사용하여 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 자외선 흡수제 처리는 처리 농도에 상관없이 면직물의 선형인장성(LT), 인장레질리언스(RT), 굽힘강성(B), 굽힘이력(2HB), 전단강성(G), 전단이력(2HG5), 표면마찰계수(MIU)등을 증가시켰으며 표면거칠기(SMD)는 감소시켰다. 압축특성은 처리농도의 영향을 받아서 고농도의 자외선 흡수제 처리는 압축특성을 감소시켰으며, 저농도의 처리는 압축특성을 증가시켰다. 자외 선 흡수제 처리는 처리농도에 상관없이 면직물의 fullness/softness를 유의하게 증가시키는 반면 stiffness, crispness및 anti-drape stiffness를 감소시켜서 가공포의 종합태(THV)는 가공 전에 비하여 저하하였다. 자외선 조사는 가공 전 면직물의 경우 B, 2HB, G, 2HG, 2HG5, LC를 감소시켰다. 자외선 조사는 처리농도와 상관없이 가공포의 WT, 굽힘특성 , 전단특성을 감소시켰으며, 저농도의 흡수제 처리포의 경우 SMD를 증가시켰으며, 고농도의 흡수제 처리포의 경우 SMD를 감소시켰다. 자외선 조사는 처리농도와 상관없이 가공포의fullness/softness, stiffness, anti-drape stiffness를 유의하게 감소시켜서 자외선 조사 전 보다 THV가 37% 저하하였고 미 가공포의 THV를 저하율보다는 저하가 낮았다. 자외선 흡수제 처리에 의해 면직물의 태는 가공 전보다 감소하지만, 자외선 흡수제 처리는 자외선 조사에 의한 태 감소율을 낮추는 데 유의 한 효과가 있다.

A Random Walk Model for Estimating Debris Flow Damage Range (랜덤워크 모델을 이용한 토석류 산사태 피해범위 산정기법 제안)

  • This study investigated the damage range of the debris flow to predict the amount of collapsed soil in a landslide event. The height of the collapsed slope and the distance traveled by the collapsed soil were used to predict the total trajectory distance using a random walk model. Debris flow trajectory probabilities were calculated through 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations and were used to calculate the damage range as measured from the landslide scar to its toe. Compiled information on debris flows that occurred in the Cheonwangbong area of Mt. Jirisan was used to test the accuracy of the proposed random walk model in estimating the damage range of debris flow. Results of the comparison reveal that the proposed model shows reasonable accuracy in estimating the damage range of debris flow and that using 10 m × 10 m cells allows the damage range to be reproduced with satisfactory precision.

An Exploratory Study On the Future Growth Strategies for Korean General Trading Companies: Applying Japanese GTC Models into Korean Companies (한국 종합상사의 미래 성장전략에 관한 탐색적 연구: 일본 종합상사 경험의 한국적 적용 방향을 중심으로)

  • Korean general trading companies had started their business to benchmark and to adopt the successful new business models of the Japanese ones. Nevertheless, the strategic gaps between Korean and Japanese GTCs, Sogo-Shosha, still exist, including financial profitability and managerial competencies. In this regard, it is academically and practically required to find out the differences between Korean and Japanese GTCs. This study overviews the previous researches and the business cases to understand the features of GTCs and to get recent and meaningful factors which are related with the rebirth of Sogo-Shosha. Thereafter, in-depth interviews with industry experts and scholars and subsequent investigations were also conducted to suggest meaningful implications for both academicians and practitioners with the found factors. This study suggests four fundamental differences between the Korean and Japanese GTCs: ① the origin and growth path, ② business ownership, governance strategies and contracts management, ③ availabilities of investment portfolio and risk management, ④ business operation system and organizational culture. This study suggests meaningful implications for Korean GTCs to apply the experiences and lessons learned from Japanese Sogo-Shosha into their own business.

Convergence Analysis of the Factors Influencing Terminal Care Attitude (임종간호 태도에 영향을 미치는 융합적인 요인분석)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to identify factors influencing on nurses' Terminal Care Attitude. Methods: A sample of convenience of 190 nurses. Instrument included perception of death, death anxiety, terminal care stress, death attitude, burnout, terminal care attitude. Results: A significant positive correlation was found among terminal care attitude, perception of death, terminal care stress. In addition, a significant negative correlation was found among terminal care attitude, death anxiety, death attitude, burnout. Perception of death, death anxiety, terminal care stress & death attitude were significant predictive variables. This variables accounted for 32.7% of the variance in terminal care attitude. Conclusions: Based on the Findings of this study, it can be used to develop educational programs for Terminal Care.

Landslide Characteristics induced by Heavy Rainfall in Samcheok Area (집중호우시 발생된 삼척지역의 산사태 특성)

  • Landslides induced by heavy rainfall from typhoon 'Rusa' in 2002 and typhoon 'Meami' in 2003 were investigated at Samcheok area, and the relationship between landslides and rainfall on that area was analyzed. The average annual rainfall at Samcheok area is generally $1,200mm\~1,300mm$. However, the average annual rainfall at samcheok for 2003 and ton was increased more than 2,000mm because of typhoon 'Rusa' and typhoon 'Meami'. The number of landslides and the landslides area are largely occurred in a area of the relatively high maximum hourly rainfall and 2days cumulative rainfall. Therefore, it confirmed that landslides are directly depended on the hourly rainfall and the cumulative rainfall. The landslides at Samcheok area induced by heavy rainfall due to typhoon are more influenced by the maximum hourly rainfall at the landslide occurrence day. In order to predict a rational landslide size, a new method included the maximum hourly rainfall and the landslide area in a traditional way was proposed. As the result of applying the new proposed method, the landslide size at Samcheok area is involved in the large scale landslide.

Evaluating Geomorphological Classification Systems to Predict the Occurrence of landslides in Mountainous Region (산사태 발생예측을 위한 지형분류기법의 비교평가)

  • This study aims at evaluating geomorphological classification systems to predict the occurrence of landslides in mountainous region in Korea. Geomorphological classification systems used in this study are Catena, TPI, and Geomorphons. Study sites are Gapyeong-gun, Hoengseong-gun, Gimcheon-si, Yeoju-si/Yicheon-si in which landslide occurrence data were collected by local governments from 2001-2014. Catena method has objective classification standard to compare among regions objectively and understand the result intuitively. However, its procedure is complicated and hard to be automated for the general public to use it. Both TPI and Geomorphons have simple procedure and GIS-extension, therefore it has high accessibility. However, the results of both systems are highly dependent on the scale, and have low relevance to geomorphological formation process because focusing on shape of terrain. Three systems have low compatibility, therefore unified concept are required for broad use of landform classification. To assess the effectiveness of prediction on landslide by each geomorphological classification system, 50% of geomorphological classes with higher landslide occurrence are selected and the total landslide occurrence in selected classes are calculated and defined as 'predictive ability'. The ratio of terrain categorized by 'predictive ability' to whole region is defined as 'vulnerable area ratio'. An indicator to compare three systems which is predictive ability divided by vulnerable area ratio was developed to make a comprehensive judgment. As a result, Catena ranked the highest in suitability.
