A ghost flatheads, Hoplichthys langsdorfii Cuvier and Valenciennes of the family Hoplichthyidae was studied for the first time in Korea. Eighteen specimens were collected from Pusan in February 3, 1993. The Haplichthys langsdorfii is similar to H. gilberti in morphometric characters, but H. langsdorfii differs from H. gilberti in having 2 rows of spinous processes on the scute of both side of body and longer snout than eye diameter. A new Korean name "Gasiyangtae" is proposed for the H. langsdorfii.

국내 케이블TV는 이날로그방송 뿐만 아니라 디지털방송, 주문형 비디오, 초고속 인터넷, 양방향 서비스, 인터넷 전화 등의 다양한 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 하지만 종편, 보도, 홈쇼핑 등의 신규 채널 증가와 방송 통신 융합에 따른 다양한 양방향 서비스 도입, 시속적인 HD채널 확대 등으로 헌재 사용 가능한 주파수가 매우 부족한 상황으로 3DTV, UHDTV, 인터넷 기반방송 등의 차세대 방송 서비스 제공을 위한 주파수 확보 방안 마련 이 매우 시급하게 필요한 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 국내 케이블TV의 주파수 이용 현황 및 신규 주파수 수요 전망을 예측하고 다양한 효율적인 주파수 해결 방법을 모색하고 단계적으로 해결 방법을 적용하여 주파수를 확보하는 효율적인 주파수 이용방안에 대해서 기술하였다.

종편 tv채널 증가와 모바일, 웹 시장의 발달로 엄청난 많은 양의 드라마가 양산되고 있다. 또한, 현대인들은 복잡한 현대의 생활 구조 때문에 드라마를 제 시간에 시청하거나 자신의 취향에 맞는 드라마를 골라서 시청하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 R에서 협업 필터링 방법을 이용하여 사용자가 자신에게 가장 적합한 드라마를 추천하는 시스템을 제안한다.

최근 드라마에 나오는 패션이나 화장품이 하나의 트렌드가 되고 있고, 드라마가 한류의 또 다른 부분으로 성장하고 있다. 또한 종편채널 도입과 많은 케이블채널 생성으로 전보다 많은 드라마가 등장하고 있으며 드라마 다시보기 기능을 통해 보지 못했던 드라마를 다시 볼 수 있는 기회가 늘어남으로써 이미 종영된 드라마들을 언제든지 다시 볼 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문은 방영되었던 드라마를 보고 싶으나 많은 드라마 중 어떤 드라마를 선택해야 할지 모르는 사용자들에게 사용자에게 가장 잘 맞는 드라마를 추천해주는 추천 시스템을 제안한다.

A ghost flatheads, Hoplichthys gilberti Jordan et Richardson of the family Hoplichthyidae was studied for the first time in Korea. Five specimens were collected from Pusan in March 28, 1995. The Hoplichthys gilberti is similar to H. langsdorfii in morphological characters, but differs in having 1 rows of spinous processes on scute of both side of body, nearly same size between snout length and eye diameter and 13+3 pectoral fin rays. A new Korean name "Oegasiyangtae" is proposed for the H. gilberti.

This study was carried out to reveal the taxonomic status of the two mullets, Chelon affinis and Chelon haematocheilus from Korea by comparison of their morphological characteristics. Chelan affinis, occurred in the southern coastal area, is a distinct species characterized by having a keel on the middorsal line in front of the spinous dorsal fin. However, Chelon haematocheilus, found in the all coastal areas of Korea excluding Cheju island is easily distinguished from the former in having the deep flat head. By comparison of five groups of Chelan haematocheilus, Kunsan group is slightly differed from others in the height of anal fin and caudal peduncle length. Although Chelon affinis is similar with Chelan haematocheilus in the view of meristic characters, they are distinguished from each other in the number of pyloric caeca and lateral line scales.

KBS를 비롯한 지상파방송 3사는 실시간 UHD방송과 VOD 온라인 동영상 서비스가 결합된 세계 최초의 지상파 양방향 UHD 플랫폼인 Tiviva(이하 티비바) 서비스를 2017년 11월 오픈하였다. 티비바는 별도의 셋톱박스 없이 UHD TV에 직접수신 안테나와 인터넷을 연결하여 지상파 방송사의 실시간 방송 채널 외에 다양한 UHD VOD와 클립을 이용할 수 있고, 스포츠와 드라마, 종편(JTBC, MBN), 영화 등 50여 개의 IP채널을 추가로 볼 수 있는 서비스이다. 이후 2018년 1월에는 이용자 편리성과 자동추천 기능 등 UI/UX를 크게 개선한 티비바 2.0을 업데이트 하였고, 평창올림픽 기간에는 전 경기 실시간 스트리밍 및 올림픽특별관을 운영하였다. 2018년 6월 러시아 월드컵 기간에는 축구 경기 UHD HDR 방송 중계와 함께 티비바를 통한 HDR VOD를 최초로 서비스하여 스포츠 경기를 즐기는 또다른 즐거움을 선사하였다. 본 논문에서는 러시아 월드컵 HDR VOD 서비스를 준비하고 시행하기 위한 시스템 설계 및 진행과정, 기술 이슈 등에 대해서 기술하려고 한다.

This paper examined how the millennial generation consumes mobile news through social networking sites with regards to user patterns, preference topics and news values, and whether news topics and news values may influence their overall mobile SNS news consumption and interactivity. The findings show that more than 2/3 of respondents consumed mobile SNS news at least once everyday for 30minutes to one-hour. Male millennials tended to use Facebook and Kakao-talk more than female. While the portal site was the most accessed channel for consuming mobile news, SNS was the second, more than the combined use of national daily papers, TV, and internet newspapers. The respondents' demographic characteristics and news topics also affect the form and degree of news interactivity. With regards to their preferences and prioritization of news values, millennials tend to perceive 'impact' and 'usefulness' as being most important, despite the differences of their demographic characteristics. They also preferred those news values most. There were significant differences in terms of preferred news topics according to the demographics' characteristics.

South Korean broadcasting industry has been under a significant level of structural change since the permission of new general programming channels in the end of 2010. One of the most characteristic features of the change may be the exodus of core manpower from the in-house productions of major terrestrial broadcasters which have been maintaining their dominant power over broadcasting content market based on their systems of tight vertical integration. This paper sheds light on the presence of a purposeful 'mechanism design' that aims to the expansion of market logics in South Korean broadcasting sector by promoting commercial media conglomerates, and analyses how this external design has been actualized while being interlocked with various internal factors of the broadcasting industry. This paper shows that on the backdrop of the mechanism design, some of new media conglomerates has successfully provided various incentives in contrast with those disincentive of terrestrial broadcasters, which in turn, has facilitated the exodus of elite producers. This paper, however, raises a set of questions about whether this relocation process of creativity led by commercial media conglomerates would, in the long term, guarantee more opportunities and potentials for the producers, as promised. As part of conclusion, inherent problems of present mechanism design are highlighted.

The genus Cottiusculus Jordan and Starks 1904 (Cottoidei: Cottidae) comprises four species worldwide, three species in Japan, and two species in Korea. Cottiusculus species are characterized by a compressed head and body without scales, except for lateral-line scales, a preopercle with four spines, a curved uppermost preopercular spine with small dorsal spines, and teeth on the upper jaws, vomer, and palatines. Two Cottiusculus species have been recorded in Korea: Cottiusculus gonez and Cottiusculus nihonkaiensis. Among these, "jeom-jul-hoet-dae" specimens were initially identified as Cottiusculus schmidti by many Korean Ichthyologists. However, since C. nihonkaiensis was reported by Kai and Nakabo (2009), most such specimens have been identified as C. nihonkaiensis. To clarify the taxonomic status of "jeom-jul-hoet-dae", we conducted morphological and molecular analyses collected from the coasts of South Korea, and compared our findings with previous reports. Japanese and Korean C. nihonkaiensis specimens mostly consistent in some proportional measurements, our molecular results indicate that they are the same species. C. nihonkaiensis, "jeom-jul-hoet-dae" distinguished from other congers by combination of following characters: simple nasal spines, two branched cirri at the upper jaw, cirri at the opercular, preopercular, and lateral lines, and a number of blotches below the lateral line.
