Lisfranc joint injuries are rare and account for 0.2% of all injuries. The pattern of Lisfranc injuries varies from low-energy ligamentous sprain to high-energy fractures or crushing injuries. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of Lisfranc injuries are important to prevent chronic foot pain and dysfunction.

최근에 스포츠 손상이 증가하고 관절경을 이용한 치료가 발전하면서 조기에 더 적극적인 치료를 하는 추세이다. 또한 방사선 소견에 비하여 관절경하에서는 연골이 불안정하거나 분리되어 있는 경우도 있으므로 기존의 수술 적응증보다는 좀 더 광범위하게 관절경 검사 및 수술적 치료가 요구된다고 생각한다. 치료 방법을 하면 $1.5cm^2$ 이하의 병변을 가진 50세 이하의 환자는 관절경을 이용하여 변연 절제술, 연골하 천공, 연마, 미세 골절술, 소파술 등의 방법으로 치료할 수 있다. 같은 방법으로 50세 이상의 $3cm^2$ 이하의 병변을 가진 환자 중 mosaicplasty와 자가 연골 세포 이식술을 적용할 수 없는 환자에서 시도해볼 수 있다. $1.5\sim3cm^2$의 병변을 가진 50세 이하의 환자, 그전의 관절경적 치료로 실패한 경우에는 자가골 연골 이식 또는 자가 연골 세포 이식술을 이용하여 치료해야 한다. $3cm^2$ 이상의 병변을 가진 50세 이하의 환자는 자가 연골 세포 이식술이나 동종 골 연골 이식을 이용하여 치료하며, 50세 이상의 환자는 관절 고정술이나 족근 관절 인공치환술을 고려하는 것이 바람직하다.

Primary osteoarthritis of the ankle without history of trauma is rare. We are reporting the use of a low tibial osteotomy on 2 ankles in one patient. The osteotomy is designed to correct the varus tilt and anterior opening of the distal tibial joint surface where it has been shown by weight-bearing radiographs. Follow-up at 8 months the result showed to be excellent, by Takakura's scoring system. We experienced that slight overcorrection of deformity by low tibial osteotomy is effective in treating intermediate-stage primary osteoarthritis of the ankle.

Synovial chondromatosis is an uncommon benign lesion characterized by metaplastic cartilage formation within the synovial connective tissue, usually intraarticular, commonly affects the knee, hip and elbow. An extraarticular lesion is rare, most often seen in a synovial sheath and bursa of the hand or foot. We present a case of extraarticular synovial chondromatosis in the left ankle, originated from the FHL tendon sheath of a 31 year-old-female diagnosed by a radiography, MRI confirmed histopathologically.

Although stress fracture of lower extremity is a relatively common, stress fracture of medial malleolus is rare. So we report one case. He is a 17 year old soccer player and successfully treated with surgical treatment (open reduction and internal fixation with one screw.

Lisfranc injury is complex and difficult to treat. Making the correct diagnosis and achieving an anatomical reduction are important factors in regard to achieving a favorable outcome with this injury. We describe a new technique that we have found to be useful for stabilizing Lisfranc injury. This method is relatively fast and simple, and it provides non-rigid fixation. Also, it eliminates the need for implant removal. To date, we have achieved predictable results for stabilizing and treating this injury with the use of a $TightRope^{TM}$ Device, instead of traditional interfragmental screw fixation. In this report, we describe a case in which this method was used with satisfactory short-term results.

We report on the case of a patient with chronic instability of the ball-and-socket ankle joint. The patient, a 21-year-old male, was diagnosed 10 years previously with chronic instability of the ball-and-socket ankle joint. He underwent Broström procedure and augmentation using a periosteal turn down from the fibula for this chronic instability despite having received conservative treatment since the diagnosis. After the procedure, the clinical symptoms of ankle instability were improved and the patient is being periodically followed-up. We report on this case of using a Broström procedure as a treatment option for patients with instability of the ball-and-socket ankle joint with normal range of foot and normal ankle joint alignment without damage in the joint and cartilage.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome caused by ganglion as space occupying lesion is unusual and known that excellent result can be expected from surgical treatment carried out soon after onset of the condition. The object of the current study is to report our experience of tarsal tunnel syndrome caused by ganglion of flexor digitorum longus tendon sheath treated with operative management in a 39 year-old man with a review of the literature.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome caused by space occupying lesion is unusual but it rarely occur by ganglion which is presented below the flexor retinaculum due to compression neuropathy of posterior tibial nerve and its branches. The object of the current study is to report our experience of surgical treatment about tarsal tunnel syndrome caused by the ganglion of flexor digitorum longus tendon sheath and multifocal myxoid degeneration of medial plantar nerve with a review of the literatures.

Delay in diagnosis is possible in bone tumor located in the foot because it is rare. We experienced one case of osteoid osteoma located at the navicular bone of the foot which was slowly progressive and complicated with calcaneocuboidal joint, talonavicular joint arthritis. Osteoid osteoma of the navicular bone in the foot is rare. It bring about unwanted delay in diagnosis, complication. It is necessary to diagnose and treat in early situation to prevent complication and unnecessary operation.
