The Miniaturized Fingerprint Imager (MFI) is a slim optical mouse that can be used as an input device for application to wireless portable personnel communication devices such as smartphones. In this study, we have fabricated key optical components of an MFI, including the illumination optical components and imaging lens. An LED beam-shaping lens consisting of an aspheric lens and a Fresnel facet was successfully machined using a diamond turning machine (DTM). A customized V-shaped groove for beam path banding was fabricated by the bulk micromachining of silicon that was coated with aluminum using the shadow effect in thermal evaporation. The imaging lens and arrayed multilevel Fresnel lenses were fabricated by electron beam lithography and FAB etching, respectively. The proposed optical components are extremely compact and have high optical efficiency; therefore, they are applicable to ultraslim optical systems.

When it comes to a country's traditional ideas. that country's geographic setting and religious thought show the people's consciousness, and the characteristics of historic sites and relics show their cultural aspects. Our country has 5000-year cultural history. Especially, the Baekje cultural history created very remarkable relics in our history. With regard to Baekje's own patterns and workmanship, their ornaments were more focused on the beauty of soft and voluptuous curves than that of Goguryeo and Silla This study researched design characteristics of ornaments and symbolic aspects of the patterns by focusing on crowns, crowns' accessories, earrings, necklaces, chignon ornaments of the Baekje's ornaments, To put emphasis on Baekje's ornaments by comparing Baekje's ornaments with Goguryeo's and Silla's. This study collected data on Baekje's ornaments, and reviewed domestic references and specialty publications at the Buyeo National Museum, Gong-ju National Museum, home and abroad, and studied the images of Baekje's metal crafts and patterns through theses. Baekje had splendid and glorious artistic culture, but there are not many historical data and supportive relics left these days. Therefore, a lot of attention, researches and development on Baekje culture are needed. This study found that the ornaments of the Baekje era have not only ornament functions but also the people's creative mind. The culture contents in recent technological development and industrialization change people's recognition, and now they have interest in Baekje culture. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to widely popularize Baekje by studying the patterns of the Baekje era more and developing various and new designs.

There are various schemes to improve the environment of a rir in which we dwell. Among them environment color is one of formative elements that compose a city environment, the recognition about it is coming to be high gradually. A stabilized appropriate color of city environment gives a psychological social cultural effect to the people and also can be a useful method even in public information of city image, To give a citizen sensitive aesthetic and emotional satisfaction, a systematic rational design approach is necessary in an environment color plan. Hereupon, this study suggests one model of a concrete substantial color design through analyzing a present condition, for example, an existing environment, a case study about similar space, and a question investigation for finding out preference image and applying them to the color design. Through a rational systematic environment color design one can expect several effects making identity in a region, increasing a peculiar image or unity reinforcement by total application of color scheme, creating a visual environment with aesthetic characteristic, and efficiency of continuous color management system.

The gate of university can be the first impression of the University itself and most important advertising structure which is more than just a structure that people pass by. It can also be the medium that connects the outside with the inside of the campus. Therefore, many universities are willing to have a unique and symbolic gate of their own. Recently, university representatives have become interested in arranging external areas of the campus. At this respect, studying and researching university gates and surroundings facilities must be realized. We visited 104 different universities gates to research and survey people about what they think of the internal and external individuality of each gate. According to these researches we established a full data base of 24 types of classifications, 5 characteristic forms of each shapes, 8 forms of the symbolic characteristics of university gates and 10 surroundings facilities of the university gates.

Ideologies are expressed by the various elements that make up the film. One of them is costume. The purpose of this study is to analyze the formative features and images of uniforms displayed on the costumes in Wess. Anderson 's films. To this end, the authors selected two pieces of Wes Anderson's work, 'Moonrise Kingdom' (2012) and 'Grand Budapest Hotel' (2014), which were produced after 2010. 이 글은 Music Information Retrieval(MIR) 기법을 사용하여 오디오 콘텐츠의 리듬 정보를 자동으로 분석하고 이를 시각화하는 방법에 대해 다룬다. 특히 MIR을 활용한 간단한 시각화(sound visualization) 어플리케이션을 소개함으로써 음악 정보 분석이 디자인, 시각 예술에서 다양하게 활용될 수 있음을 보이고자 한다. 음악적 정보를 시각 예술로 담아내려는 시도는 20세기 초 아방가르드 화가들에 의해 본격적으로 시작되었다. 80년대 이후에는 컴퓨터 기술의 급속한 발전으로 사운드와 이미지를 디지털 영역에서 쉽게 하나로 다룰 수 있게 되었고, 이에 따라 다양한 오디오 비주얼 예술작품들이 등장하였다. MIR은 오디오 콘텐츠로부터 음악적 정보를 분석하는 DSP(Digital Signal Processing) 기술로 최근 디지털 콘텐츠 시장의 확장과 더불어 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 웹이나 모바일에서는 이미 다양한 상용 어플리케이션이 적용되고 있는데 query-by-humming과 같은 음악 인식 어플리케이션이 대표적인 경우이다. 이 글에서는 onset 검출(onset detection)을 중심으로 음악적 리듬을 분석하는 알고리즘을 살펴보고 기본적인 조형원리에 따라 이를 시각화하는 어플리케이션의 예를 소개한다.

의료 영상 처리 기술은 질병의 진단 및 치료를 위한 계획이나 방법을 결정하는데 있어 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 뇌 MR 영상에서의 질병 진단을 위한 전처리 단계로서 필수적으로 이루어져야 하는 단계가 영상 분할 단계이다. 본 논문에서는 뇌의 질병 진단에 사용할 수 있는 자료를 제공하기 위한 뇌 영상 분할 방법을 제시한다. T2 강조 영상의 반전된 영상에서 원본 영상을 뺀 차이 영상의 결과로 회백질·뇌척수액·비정상 영역이 두드러지게 나타나는 점을 이용해 회백질 뇌척수액·비정상 영역과 백질 영역을 분리하는 방법을 제안한다. 또한 뇌척수액 영역의 위치 정보와 몇 가지 특징들을 정의하여 분할되어진 회백질·뇌척수액· 비정상 영역에서 뇌척수액 영역만을 분할하는 방법을 제시한다. 600 여 개의 T2 강조 영상에 대해서 실험을 행하러 비교적 정확한 분할 결과를 유도할 수 있었음을 확인하였다.

Structured laser light is a widely used method for obtaining 3D range information in Machine Vision. However, The structured laser light method is based on assumption that the surface of objects is Lambertian. When the observed surfaces are highly specularly reflective, the laser light can be detected in various parts on the image due to a specular reflection and secondary reflection. This makes wrong range data and the image sensor unusable for the specular objects. To discriminate wrong range data from obtained image data, we have proposed a new algorithm by using the cross section of image block. To show the performance of the proposed method, a series of experiments was, carried out on: the simple geometric shaped objects. The proposed method shows a dramatic improvement of 3D range data better than the typical structured laser light method.

현대 도시의 새로운 이미지 창출을 위해서 공공예술은 중요한 요소이다 과거 조형적 작품으로 이루어지던 공공예술은 미디어아트, 인터렉티브 아트등 새로운 예술분야로의 접목이 늘어나는 경향이 나타난다. 그러나 인터렉티브 아트가 공공예술로 정착되기에는 가기고 있는 문제점이 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 엠비언트 아트(Ambient Art)를 활용하였다. 엠비언트 인텔리전스(Ambient Intelligence)에서 파생된 개념으로의 엠비언트 아트는 Ambient Display와 Ambient Media 등을 사용하여 사용자의 주의 없이도 환경정보를 활용하여 인터렉션을 일으켜 작품에 생명력을 부여하는 예술장르를 말한다. 기존 연구에 의하면, 엠비언트 아트는 상황인지, 개인화, 분위기, 상호작용, 자가성장의 5가지 특성을 지닌다. 그러나 엠비언트 아트가 공공예술로 사용되기 위해선 소통, 보안, 선택권의 3가지 요소가 필요하다. 공공공간이 지니고 있는 특성과 공공예술이 가지는 파급효과를 고려하면, 3가지 요소가 중요하다. 보다 높은 수준의 소통과 과도한 관객의 상황정보 수집으로부터의 보호, 관객의 작품 참여 선택권은 엠비언트 아트가 가져할 구성요소이다. 본 논문에서는 3가지 요소를 포함하는 새로운 장르의 공공예술(New Genre Public Art)의 공공 엠비언트 아트(Public Ambient Art)를 제시하여 대안을 마련하는데 의의가 있다.
