This paper deals with the basic principles and procedures involved in the steam-chest molding process used for manufacturing expanded polypropylene (EPP) bead foam. Steam-chest molding is an integral process for EPP technology. However, little research has been carried out on the processing conditions for steam-chest molding this process. The characteristics of EPP foam are energy absorption, multiple-impact protection, low weight, structural strength, and durability. In this study, the steam pressure in steam-chest molding was varied to determine the optimum conditions for manufacturing EPP foam. Moreover, annealing was performed after EPP-foam molding to prevent the shrinkage of the steam-molded product. It was possible to verify the mechanism of foam shrinkage by observing the change in weight with time at different annealing temperatures. Moreover, a tensile test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis were performed to support these experimental results. The dimensional stability of each molded product was investigated at different steam pressures.

This paper proposes to analyze artistic characteristic based on the line expression of , Te Wei's Chinese water-ink animation. We considered the transitions of Chinese water-ink animation through Shang-hai Animation Film Studio's works which induced the dominant improvement in Chinese animations and other major animation industries internationally with the theoretical explanations about particular understanding of line concept and formative characteristics. We not only considered line expression of , aesthetic and idea etc. which are the central point of this paper but also researched the artistic possibilities through the effects of Chinese water ink and line and the relationship of animation.

The researcher has tried to develop the aesthetic value of the art and the function of metalwork in conjunction with our daily life. especially has been eager to develop the new possibility of metal urns through the investigation of ordinary metalwork. Funeral urns are vessels to fill the ashes of bodies. As the social issues, including problems of restricted land territory and environmental pollution are awakening, many people are much concerned about the use of urns in recent days. Although social concerns about cremation and urns are getting high, most urns in Korea have been made of ceramic and stone. The shape of old urns are pot style with lids, and their color is simple white or jade green. Moreover, old urns are expensive, unpractical, simple, and furthermore, the feature of urns has not preserved the sense of beauty. In this context, we have narrow choices to select urns, and it has been difficult for us to be familiar with the old-style urns. Therefore, the need for developing metal urns are necessary as the increase of public concerns towards cremation is widely spreading. As it is well known, metal is not only regarded as hard, antibacterial, pro-environmental material , but also regarded as good substance for urns. Metal is also suitable for making urns because of metal's characteristics of easy processing, mass production, and cheap price. The researcher has been tried to find the possibility of art of metalwork through the dissemination of metal urns to the public. The researcher has also attempted to represent the characteristics and symbolic implications of contemporary metal urns for ordinary people to adopt metal urns as their 'Rite Haven'.

History is bound to change according to the interpretation of modern people, and based on this, we must find the will to practice for our future. In order to examine the ideology of a country, we can know the cultural aspect of that country through its religious ideology and its cultural heritage. This paper focuses on the stone pagoda of the Baekje period. In order to collect data on the 5-story stone pagoda of Jeongnimsaji, I would like to study the formative features of the 5-story pagoda of Jeongnimsaji by visiting the Jeongnimsaji Museum and familiarizing myself with domestic and foreign professional books, preceding papers, and references based on prior research.

Everybody recognizes importance of characters in theater animation that directly influence audiences through narrative structure. However, it is very difficult to make one. This study is about this process that creates characters. This study derived what common points were involved in analysis data of major/supporting characters' formative characteristics in various studies related to animation characters. Then, based on the data, this study analyzed how major/supporting characters were transformed to animation characters in the scenes that were animated at the beginning and end of film that were released in 2007. Finally, this study investigated the process of character creation using portrait based on the analyzed data. Although this study tried to approach to character creation objectively using objective data rather than subjective judgment of the researcher, the researcher recognizes that subjective thoughts could not be completely excluded since it is done by man's hands. However, this author sincerely hopes that this research can be a great help in producing animation characters through understanding form factors of images that makes character for short film producers who suffered from slow work process due to difficulty in creating characters or authors who failed to complete satisfactory work as they could not find slight difference in character modification.

Hangeul is growing as cultural icon representing Korea. And Hangeul is scientific and is too systematics for words as the guide of modern design. First it can make the variable and beautiful foams like dot, line and plane. It also has the basic design principles like symmetry and repetition. The purpose of this study is to develop textile designs using the formative characteristics of Hangeul. So in this study it was chosen 'ㄱ, ㄹ, ㅁ, ㅂ, ㅅ, ㅇ, ㅍ' of Hangeul's consonants and 'ㅑ, ㅕ' of Hangeul's vowels as the subject materials of textile designs development to develop textile designs expressed the geometrical shapes and formative beauty of Hangeul. Those are designed by using a variety of motifs that recast the shapes of Hangeul. So six textile designs for necktie and scarf were developed. Through this study it will be offered to the possibility of products that was based on Hangeul.

의료 영상 처리 시스템에서는 영상들의 검색이 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 그에 대한 해결 방법으로는 의료 영상 처리 시스템에 지능적인 내용 기반의 영상 검색 방법을 도입하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 의료 영상에 적합한 분할 방법을 사용하여 뇌의 MR 영상에 대하여 내용기반 검색을 하기 위한 영상 특징 색인화 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 색인화 방법은 뇌 MR 영상에서 뇌영역을 분할하고 특징들을 추출한 후 이 정보를 가지고 대상 영상의 그룹핑 정보를 유추하고, 각 대상 영상에서의 비정상 후보 영역 위치를 찾아내어 3차원 공간 색인을 하는 방법이다.

This research is intended to study literatures relating to western rocking chairs style in early 20th century in order to provide basic data of designs for rockers of today in Korea and investigate characteristics of rocking chair from academic, formative and pragmatic perspectives. During the first half of 20th century, western rocking chairs (1925~1945) embodied actively the simple functionalism concept that furniture design must follow functionality considerations. Therefore, bare wood rocking chairs were without any surface decoration and tubular steel frame rocking chairs often included black leather upholstery in a bold attempt to express exposed structure. And the fact that tubular steel produced such lightweight furniture was crucial importance. Many Modernist designer created curvaceous lines of new pattern changes in their furniture. The structure of Modern rocking chair became all-important, for stylistic as well as functional reasons. Designers equated exposed structure of tubular steel and wooden frame with integrity and rationality and create an equalitarian style of design. Especially, designers in the early 20th century did use various brilliantly colored upholstery and wooden frame with simple forms of modern characteristics.

This study is an primary analysis on convergence of porcelain lacquer painting art which is composed of porcelain art and raw lacquer technic. As a part of ceramic art, this study suggest 3 ways of porcelain lacquer decoration with understanding of its history and contemporary status. Lacquer technic gives stability for surface paintings and it also has various media to express its beauty. Porcelain lacquer decoration art contains artistic value and pragmatic purpose for daily life usage. These days, due to unavailability for mass production, it tends to be tried for art work purposes. However this artistic technic and value can be applied to porcelain goods, so that it will raise aesthetic pleasure and cultural diversity.

뇌 MR 영상의 분석을 통해 질환을 자동적으로 진단하고 판별을 하기 위한 전처리 단계에서 정상인의 MR 영상 모델과 현재 고려되어지는 대상 영상과의 비교 작업이 요구된다. 이를 통해 보다 정확한 질병에 대한 근거를 제시함으로서 진단이 가능하게 된다. 이러한 비교 작업을 위해 우선적으로 해결해야 하는 것이 현재 대상 영상이 정상인의 MR 영상 시리즈 중 어느 위치의 영상과 일치하는 지를 판별해야 한다. 실질적으로 뇌 MR 시리즈는 영상의 특징에 따라 크게 몇 개의 그룹으로 분류된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 매핑을 위한 각 구성 요소의 특징을 추출해 자동으로 뇌 영상의 그룹핑을 함으로써 매핑시 고려되어지는 슬라이드의 범위를 좁혀줄 뿐만 아니라 영상의 질에 따라 부분적인 손실이 있다 하더라도 전후 관계 정보를 이용하여 유추가 가능한 방법을 제시한다. 800여개의 T2 MR 강조 영상에 대해서 실험을 행하여 비교적 정확한 그룹핑 결과를 유도할 수 있었음을 확인하였다.
