Inflenece of Some Factors on the Secretion of Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) in the lsolated Rat Heart (흰쥐의 적출심장에서 Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) 유리에 미치는 요인에 관하여)

  • Atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP)의 유리기전에 대한 특성을 알아보고자, 흰쥐의 적출심장 관류모형을 사용하여 연구한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 심방을 확장시켰을 때 ANP의 유리는 촉진되었다. 그러나 과용량을 부하하면 확장기간보다 회복기간에 ANP의 유리가 현저하게 증가하였다. 2. Epinephrine과 phenylephrine을 주입하면 ANP의 유리 량이 증가했으나, isoproterenol을 주입하면 심박수와 우심방 내압이 현저하게 증가했는데도 ANP의 유리량은 오히려 감소하였다 3. 미주신경을 자극하면 심박수의 현저한 감소에도 불구하고 ANP의 유리량은 증가하였다. 이상과 같은 결과에서 볼 때 결론적으로, 심방의 용량부하에 의해 심방근의 신장수용체가 자극을 받아 ANP의 유리가 촉진되는 것은 분명하고, 심방근이 확장할 때 보다는 확장 후 다시 원래의 길이로 환원될 때 ANP가 유리될 것으로 사료된다. 그리고 ANP의 유리에 대한 adrenergic조절은 o-receptor가 관련되어 있으며 심박수와 심방내압이 ANP의 유리를 변화시키는 데는 반드시 필수적인 인자가 아닌 것으로 여겨진다. 또한 특히 미주신경의 자극으로도 ANP의 유리가 조절될 수 있다는 것이 본 연구를 통해 새로이 발견되었다.

Analysis and Design of an Accommodation-Dependent Eye Model Based on Navarro Model (Navarro 모형안에 기반을 둔 조절을 고려한 모형안의 설계 및 분석)

  • Purpose: In this study, we proposed a simple accommodation-dependent crystalline lens with a constant volume and homogeneous refractive index. Methods: We proposed a human crystalline lens with two aspheric surfaces. Two surfaces intersect in two points and straight line between two points was equator(2b). It assumed that the derivative in axial direction was zero at the equator and the radial derivative was zero at the vertex. Proposed human crystalline lens was divided by the equator into the anterior and posterior parts. It was assume that the volume of each part and refractive index of the human crystalline lens were constant during accommodation. Results: For the changes during accommodation, geometrical parameters were determined by different objective distances. Considering the constant volume of each part with the small decrement of the equator, we obtained the paraxial parameters, such as the anterior and posterior vertex radius of curvature and lens thickness. Compared with the experimental data published in the literature, calculated values using simple approximation showed similar change per accommodative stimulus. Conclusions: These results showed that proposed simple approximation using assumption of constant volume and refractive index of the human crystalline lens made it possible to predict changes of geometrical parameters during accommodation.

Change in Pulpal Blood Flow of Heat-induced Neurogenic Inflammation in Feline Dental Plup (고양이 치수에서 열 자극으로 유도된 신경병증 염증에서 치수 혈류량 변화)

  • This study examined the involvement of histamine in heat-induced changes in pulpal blood flow(PBF) to determine the mechanism of neurogenic inflammation in feline dental pulp. The experiments were carried out in 10 felines anesthetized with sodium pentobartial and histamine injected into the dental pulp through the external carotid artery. The change in the pulpal PBF was measured using a laser Doppler flowmeter(Periflux 4001, Stockholm, Sweden). The probe of laser Doppler flowmeter was placed on the buccal surface of the ipsilateral canine teeth. Heat was applied to the tooth using a heat stimulator controlled script file with an input/output device. The application of heat ($40-65^{\circ}C$) induced a significant increase in PBF. The application of histamine($5{\mu}g/kg/1ml$) followed by heat($45^{\circ}C$) resulted in an increase in PBF. Therefore, the results of the present study showed that heat and histamine are capable of vasoconstriction caused by neurogenic inflammation in feline dental pulp. In addition, neurogenic inflammation plays an active role in modulating the microcirculation of the dental pulp.

The Error and the Graphical Presentation form of the Binocular Vision Findings (양안시기능 검사 값의 오차와 그래프 양식)

  • The stimulus of accommodation A, the stimulus of convergence C and the prism diopter ${\Delta}$ are reviewed and redefined more obviously. How the A and C are managed in the practice are reviewed and summarized. As a result, the common practical process of the binocular vision findings is most suitable in the case of the $l_c=26.67mm$, where the near distance is measured from the test lens to the near target and its value is 40 cm and the average of the P.D equal to 64 mm. The $l_c$ is the distance between the test lens and the center of rotation. Those values were used at calculating the various values in this paper. The error of the stimulus of accommodation values which are evaluated by the practically used formula (5) are calculated. Where the distance between lens and the principle point of eye is 15.07 mm ($=l_H$). The incremental stimulus of convergence values P' caused by the addition prism $P_m$ are evaluated by the recursion computation method. The P' are varied with the $P_m$, the distance $p_c$ between the prism and the center of rotation, the initial convergence value (or inverse target distance) $C_o$ and the refractive index n of the prism material. The recursion computation method and the other formulas are described in detail. In this paper n=1.7 is used. The two factors by which the P' is increased are exist. The one which is major is the property by which the values of convergence whose unit is ${\Delta}$ are not added in the generally way. The other is the that the actual power of the prism is varied with the angle of incidence light. And the P' is decreased remarkably by an increase in the $p_c$ and $C_o$. The $P^{\prime}/P_m$ are calculated and graphed which are varied with the $p_c$ and $C_o$, where the $P_m=20{\Delta}$, P.D=64 mm and n=1.7. The index n dependence of the $P^{\prime}/P_m$ is negligible (refer to fig. 6). The $p_c$ are evaluated at which the P' equal to the $P_m$ for various $P_m$ (refer to table 1). The actual values of the stimulus of convergence and accommodation which are manipulated simply in the practice are calculated. Two graphical forms are suggested. The one is like as the commonly used one. But the stimulus of convergence and of accommodation values in the practice are positioned at the exact positions when the graphic is made (refer to fig. 9). The other is the form that the incremental stimulus of convergence values caused by the addition prisms are represented at actual positions (refer to fig. 11).

Physiological and Psychological Thermal Responses to Local Heating of the Human Body in a Cold Environment (한랭환경하에서 인체의 국소가온 자극이 온열생리.감각반응에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 한랭 환경 하에서의 인체의 국소 가온 자극이 생리, 감각반응에 끼치는 영향을 검토했다. 건강한 성인여자 7명을 대상으로, 기온 $25^{\circ}C$, 습도50%의 환경 하에서 균일한 국소 가온을 부하 했을 때 피부온, 고막온, 손가락, 발가락 혈류량, 온냉감, 쾌적감의 반응에 미치는 영향을 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 국소가온에 의해 가온 부위 피부온은 유의하게 상승하고 가온 부위에 따라 상승도에는 유의한 차가 보였다. 2) 국소가온에 의해 고막온은 머리의 가온 시에 높은 상승, 전완의 가온 시에 상승하고, 다른 가온 부위에서는 하강의 경향이 보였다. 3) 국소가온에 의해 혈류량의 변화는 3개의 군으로 분류된다. 가온과 함께 손가락 혈류량이 증가하는 군, 발가락 혈류량이 변화하는 군, 양쪽의 혈류량이 적게 변화하는 군으로 나누어진다. 이것을 각 피험자의 평균 피부온 수준 즉 체온조절 수준과 관계 있는 것으로 논할 수 있다 4)국소 가온에 의해 각 부 위 피부온으로의 파급효과는 머리, 상완의 가온 시에 크지만 대퇴, 하퇴 다리의 가온 시에는 대부분의 부위에서 영향이 보이지는 않았다. 5) 이와 같이 국소 가온에 의 한 생리, 감각반응은 가온 부위에 따라 다르고 머리, 상완의 가온 시에는 생리반응이 크고 하퇴, 다리의 가온시에는 국소의 감각변화가 컸다.

Effects of Activin on Testosterone-primed Immature Rainbow Trout Gonadotropin Release in vitro (Testosterone 처리한 미성숙 무지개송어 뇌하수체의 세포배양계에서 생식소자극초르몬 분비에 대한 Activin의 효과)

  • The present studies were conducted to evaluate the effects of activin-A on gonadotropins (GTHs) release in testosterone-treated immature rainbow trout Oncorhpynchus mykiss. The administration of testosterone elevated pituitary level of GTH II but not of GTH I. In this study using primary cultures of dispersed pituitary cells in static incubation, dose-dependent increases in GTH II release was observed in the activin-treated group at day 3 of incubation (long-term incubation), but not at day 1 of incubation (short-term incubation). Dopamine, a potent inhibitor of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-stimulated GTH II release in rainbow trout, was only partially effective in decreasing actvin-induced GTH II release. Furthermore, salmon GnRH (sGnRH)-stimulated GTH II release was not potentiated by the pretreatment with activin. However, the control mechanisms of GTH I release by activin and other hormones were not observed in the all tested experiments. The results of these studies support the contention that in contrast with the usual stimulatory effects of activin on GTH release in mammals, activin exerts long-term stimulatory actions on GTH II release in rainbow trout. The control mechanism of GTH I release, however, is a question that remains to be elucidated.

The Analysis of Binocular Vision Function by measuring Accommodative Convergence(AC/A) (조절성 폭주비(AC/A) 측정에 의한 양안시 기능 분석)

  • Accommodation and convergence is combination movement which is closely connected with each other. When one of them is stimulated, both of functions occur at the same time. Specially, the convergence by the accommodation's stimulation is called as accommodative convergence. That has excess or deficiency according to refraction state of eye. This study was performed by using both of Gradient method and Heterophoria method to 41 adults who have no any ophthalmic disease. 1. As the result of investigation about the distribution of heterophoria at distance, there were orthophoria of 5 subjects, exophoria of 32 and esophoria of 4. Exoporia occupied at the hightest rate. The distribution of heterophoria at near cover a wider range more than at distance. 2. When we measured the horizontal heterophoria amount in the state of relaxation of accommodation power of lens, exophoria amount increased in case of 38 subjects. 3. The person who has $4{\sim}6{\Delta}/D$ which conform to normal AC/A ratio occupied 27 subjects(66%) in Heterophoria method and 16(39%) in Gradient method, respectively.

Brown Adipose Tissue Thermogenesis and Obesity (Brown Adipose Tissue의 열생성 기능과 비만)

  • Thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue (BAT) can serve the animal in the regulation of its body temperature and of its body weight. Thermogenesis can be switched on by exposure of the animal to cold (non-shivering thermogenesis) or by overeating (diet-induced thermogenesis). BAT mitochondria are uniquely specialized for thermogenesis, possessing a specific proton conductance pathway that is regulated by the concentration of fatty acids in the cells of BAT. The level of fatty acids is in turn controlled by the lipolytic action of noradrenaline on the tissue. When the proton conductance pathway operates, the mitochondria are effectively uncoupled and exhibit extremely high rates of substrate oxidation with a great increase in heat production. Thus it is suggested that BAT is of importance in energy balance and human obesity treatment if thermogenesis can be stimulated specifically.

Comparison between Stimulus and Response AC/A Ratios for Each Phoria with Additional Spherical Power (사위별 가입렌즈에 따른 자극 AC/A비와 반응 AC/A비의 비교)

  • Purpose: The accommodative response and the near horizontal phoria were examined with additional spherical power to analyze the stimulus and response AC/A ratios that suggest reference data for the binocular vision. Methods: The open-field autorefractometer (Nvision-K 5001, Shin nippon) and modified thorington method (MIM card; Muscle Imbalance Measure card, Bernell) at 40 cm were utilized to measure the accommodative response and the near horizontal phoria for 81 persons ($20.89{\pm}1.92$ years old) with additional spherical power. The stimulus and the response AC/A ratios were calculated by gradient AC/A method. Results: The exophoria group showed the highest accommodative response ($1.92{\pm}0.26D$) at 40 cm, followed by orthophoria group and esophoria group($1.72{\pm}0.26D$ and $1.62{\pm}0.42D$, respectively) Meanwhile, the esophoria group showed the biggest ocular deviation for the near ($23.24{\Delta}$) followed by the orthophoria group and exophoria group ($19.76{\Delta}$ and $15.14{\Delta}$, respectively). The biggest difference of the stimulus and the response AC/A ratios was $1.72{\Delta}$ for the exophoria group with -2.00 D, while the one was $3.43{\Delta}$ for the esophoria group with +1.00 D. There was a significant difference between AC/A ratios for the exophoria group with -2.00 D, -1.00 D and the esophoria group with +3.00 D, +2.00D, +1.00D and -1.00D. Conclusions: The difference between stimulus and response AC/A was greater when increased minus spherical power for the exophoria group, while it was greater when increased plus spherical power for the esophoria group. Furthermore, the difference for the esophoria group was a greater than the one for the exophoria group.
