Antecedents and it's Consequence of Local Consumers Trust in MNC's Product: The Moderating Effect of Global Corporate Citizenship (다국적기업 제품신뢰의 선행요인과 성과: 글로벌 기업시민주의의 조절효과)

  • Buyers' Trust in suppliers is critical in all commerce, but particularly in the relationship between foreign provider and local consumer due to the liability of foreignness. This study examines (1)how local consumers trust in the product of MNCs is affected by their perceptions of the product attributes, (2)does the product trust affects customers loyalty, and (3)whether Global Corporate Citizenship moderates the relationship between the product attributes and trust. Based on previous researches, hypotheses are formulated and the statistical method used to test them was a moderated regression analysis using SPSS 20. 330 respondents from the university student group in Korea were used for this analysis. The results of this study are follows: Service communication and product perceptions such as quality, technological newness, design, and brand value have a significant effect on the product trust. The Effectiveness of product-related service communication had greater than that of the physical characteristics of product. But, price fairness is not significantly. The trust then has a positive relation to customers loyalty. When global corporate citizenship as the moderating role is introduced into the model, the interaction terms with 'price fairness' are verified to be significant. Therefore, global corporate citizenship moderates the relationship between price fairness and product trust. The results of the empirical study provide important implications for Korean firms operating in foreign markets. But, the findings are limited to the University students and to manufacturing sectors. Thus, the generalization of the results of this research remains limited.

The Effects of Medical Service Utilizations on Life Satisfaction among the Elderly: Focusing on the Moderating Effects of the Presence of Chronic Illnesses (노년기 의료서비스 이용이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향: 만성질환 유무의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The rapidly aging society entails the increases of medical service utilizations among the elderly. Medical services utilized by the elderly influence their life satisfaction. However, little is known about the effects of medical service utilizations on life satisfaction. Much less is known about whether the effects of medical service utilizations on life satisfaction tend to vary by the presence of chronic health conditions. Including 3,944 individuals aged 65 and over who participated in the 3rd wave of Korean Welfare Panel Study, the current study aims to examine (1) the relationships between medical service utilizations and life satisfaction and (2) whether the effects of medical service utilizations on life satisfaction vary by the presence of chronic health conditions. Data were processed through structural equation modeling(SEM) and multi-group SEM. Results indicate that (1) levels of both outpatient and inpatient service utilizations are related to life satisfaction, whereas levels of health monitoring service utilizations are not and (2) the effects of medical service utilizations varied by the chronic health condition status of the elderly. These results indicate that, in order to enhance levels of life satisfaction, medical services should be strategically utilized by the elderly depending on their chronic health condition status. Based on the findings, we discussed implications for practice and policy, suggesting future research directions based on the limitations of the current study.

An Efficient ABR Traffic Flow Control Mechanism For Multimedia Services in Wireless Mobile ATM Networks (무선 이동ATM네트워크에서 멀티미디어 서비스 제공을 위한 효율적인 ABR 트래픽 흐름제어 메커니즘)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 이동 ATM 네트워크에서 무선채널 상태를 고려하면서 가상목적지와 가상소스를 이용한 효율적인 ABR트래픽 흐름제거 기법을 제안한다. ABR서비스는 높은 우선순위를 갖는 실시간 서비스에 의해 사용되지 않는 유휴대역폭을 효율적으로 사용하는 서비스로, 셀손실에 특히 민감하다. ABR서비스는 대역폭의 효율적인 활용으로 기존ATM네트워크에서 널리 사용되고 있으며, 무선 이동ATM네트워크에서도 이러한 ABR서비스의 제공이 중요하다고 하겠다. 기존 ATM네트워크에서는 효율적인 ABR서비스를 위한 흐름제어기법으로서 RM(Resource Management)셀의 피드백을 이용한 전송율기반 폭주제어 기법을 사용하고 있으나, 이 방식을 무선네트워크에 그대로 적용했을 경우, 심각한 대역폭의 낭비를 가져올 수 있다. 따라서 제안된 기법은 무선 이동네트워크에서 RM셀의 전송을 억제하고 ATM스위치에 의해 MT(Movile terminal)의 ACR을 결정하게 하여 기지국을 통해 단말기로 전송하도록 하였다. ABR트래픽은 MT에서 고정호스트로 전송된다고 가정하고 시뮬레이션을 수행하여, 그 성능을 분석하였다. 성능분석 결과, 제안된 기법은 무선네트워크의 대역폭을 낭비하지 않으면서 링크의 혼잡도를 최소화하여 채널상태에 따라 효율적으로 전송율을 조절할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 서비스에 대한 정보접근성의 개선을 위하여 개인 의료정보와 최근 각광받고 있는 공간정보 서비스를 활용하여 개인 의료정보를 이용한 지능형 공간정보 서비스 제공 시스템을 설계하였다. 제안한 시스템은 공간 서비스 제공 서버와 식이조절, 맞춤검색, 의료지원 서비스를 제공하는 서버로 구성되어 있으며, 개인 의료정보 보호를 위한 보안시스템을 사용한다. 본 논문은 모바일 서비스를 사용하는 모든 사용자에게 있어서 정당한 편의를 제공하는 것을 주된 목적으로 한다.

The Effect of Service Quality and Company Reputation on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty in Mobile Payment: Moderating Effects of Switching Barriers (모바일 간편 결제 서비스 품질 및 기업 명성이 고객 만족과 충성도에 미치는 영향: 전환장벽의 조절적 작용)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors that impact customer satisfaction and loyalty in mobile payment services. Specifically, this research (1) studies the influence of company reputation on customer satisfaction and loyalty, (2) examines service quality dimensions that increase customer satisfaction, and (3) assesses switching barriers as moderators in influencing customer loyalty. Findings of this empirical research reconfirm the point of view that company reputation, service quality, and switching barriers are crucial for customer satisfaction in mobile payment services. The research methodologies that were used to verify the hypothesis in this study included customized surveys and structural equation modeling. The results demonstrated that company reputation significantly affects customer satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, the results indicated that only two of the five total service qualities, ease of use and the security/privacy qualities, have positive influences on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has also proven to be a significant influence on loyalty. Lastly, the results showed that among the factors of switching barriers, the factors of lost performance costs, sunk costs, setup costs, the attractiveness of alternatives, and service recovery have moderating effects on the relationships between customer satisfaction and loyalty. Base on the results, this research recommends that firms aim at devising integrated strategies that make switching barriers act as complements to customer satisfaction.

Testing the Moderating effect of Coupon Types on Perceived Price, Consumption Emotions, Customer Satisfaction and Revisit Intention in Quick Service Restaurants (퀵서비스레스토랑의 지각된 가격, 소비감정, 소비자만족과 재방문의도의 관계에 쿠폰유형이 미치는 조절효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the influence of restaurant customers' perceived price on their satisfaction and revisit intention through the examination of the mediating effects of emotional responses and the moderating role of coupons. Data was obtained from a survey conducted to 319 quick service restaurant customers and analyzed using SPSS 16 and AMOS 16. The results indicate a full mediation effect of perceived price on customer satisfaction through emotional responses. It was also noted that discount, free and entry coupons did moderate the influence of perceived price on customers' emotional responses. The strongest moderator for perceived price and positive emotions was a discount coupon followed by a free coupon and an entry coupon in order. For perceived price and negative emotions, an entry coupon had a higher moderating effect followed by a discount coupon. The study put forward an appropriate implication to restaurateurs on the use of coupons as well as emotional responses and perceived price that will effectively elevate customers' satisfaction level.

A Video Quality Control Scheme Based on Content Characteristics for Improving QoE in DASH Environments (DASH 환경에서 QoE 향상을 위한 콘텐츠 특성 기반의 비디오 품질 조절 기법)

  • Recently, the web-based adaptive streaming service, DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP), is receiving more attention. However, existing network-based and buffer-based video quality control schemes in DASH environments make oscillation of segment throughput, causing degradation of the quality of experience (QoE) with frequent quality changes and playback interruptions because these schemes do not consider the content characteristics. In this paper, we propose a C-DASH (Content Characteristics based Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) scheme in order to improve the QoE in DASH environments. The C-DASH scheme performs seamless and smooth quality control based on the segment throughput, buffer status, and segment size of the content. Based on simulation results, it is confirmed that the C-DASH scheme can improve the QoE, when compared with the existing quality control schemes.

  • This paper proposes a mechanism for managing overload Introduced by excessive web requests in real-time web service system. The many previous mechanisms statically manage the overload and thus the dynamic characteristics are not reflected. This paper proposes a mechanism that models system load based on control theory approach and includes its dynamic characteristics. We design a controller that is able to meet performance requirement. A feedback control system is implemented applying the proposed mechanism and the stable operation of system is verified through various simulation environments.

  • The business incubator is a useful system to help start-up companies, providing various supporting systems from the technical supporting system to human resources supporting system. This article investigates the moderating effect of technical support and competence support of business incubators' on the relationship between founder's experiences and performance of the company. A total 201 sample were used to empirically test the hypotheses. The results of the study partially supported the hypotheses, implying the needs of specific supporting systems for start-ups. Managerial implications are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is first to understand agent's turnover from both academic and perspectives. Then we suggest convergence of smart work paradigm and supervisor's support as the relieving factors of turnover, The research model of this study is based upon reviews of turnover literature, the smart work and supervisor's support as moderating variables from which research hypotheses were derived. The data came from the survey from financial sector agents such as banking, insurance, and others. The analyses has been done by SPSS 20.0, We used multiple regressions to test the effects of the tested variables on the dependent variable, job satisfaction. The results of this study find significant relations of smart work and supervisor's supports in relations to personal and job-related turnover. The implication is smart work and supervisor's supports play significant role in increasing job satisfactions. Major finding is too much supervisor's supports ignoring agent's situations may bring reverse effects on relieving turnover.
