조음장애(articulation disorders)란 조음기관(예 : 혀, 입술. 치아, 입천장)을 통하여 말소리가 만들어지는 과정에서의 결함을 나타내는데, 이러한 조음장애를 보이는 아동은 '불명료한' 구어를 사용하게 되므로 해서 결국 의사소통의 어려움을 나타내게 된다. 음소를 생략하거나, 다른 음소로 대치하거나, 또는 같은 음소내에서 소리를 왜곡시키는 조음 장애 현상들은 순수 조음 장애 아동들 뿐 아니라, 정신지체, 청각장애, 구개파열, 뇌성마비 등의 장애자들에게서 중복적인 결함으로 나타나기도 한다. 본고에서는 소아의 조음장애를 다루는 임상가가 알아두어야 할 관련 요인들, 조음 오류 평가. 그리고 치료방법에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the IOPI articulator strength training program on articulator(tongue and lip) muscle strength, numbers of /l, s, ʨ/ articulation accuracy, articulatory numbers, articulation regularity and accuracy in the alternate motion rates, and sequential motion rate changes in patients with spastic dysarthria. Methods : Three cases of patients with spastic dysarthria living in Jeju, Korea, were included in this study. A single subject design was selected to study changes in articulator(tongue and lip) muscle strength, numbers of /ㄹ, ㅅ, ㅈ/ articulation accuracy, articulatory numbers, articulation regularity and accuracy in the alternate motion rates and sequential motion rates. Results : After the articulator strength training program was conducted on patients with spastic dysarthria, there were positive changes in articulator(tongue and lip) muscle strength, numbers of /ㄹ, ㅅ, ㅈ/ articulation accuracy, articulatory numbers, articulation regularity and accuracy on the alternate motion rates and sequential motion rates. Conclusion : Our findings suggest that IOPI articulator strength training program could be very useful for the most representative childeren with cerebral palsy if conducted in various subtypes of dysarthric patients and linked with articulatory function training with IOPI at home.

This study tried to investigate the differences between auditory preferences for a discrimination study of minimal pairs with the different onset and the same nucleus of a syllable on the basis of articulator-distance in case of Korean infants and toddlers. As a result we found a main effect for articulator-distance and age but not an effect according to the types of phonation especially in terms of tense. Former results are line with the previous studies having reported the order of consonants acquisition based on the places of articulation suggesting that more sensitive responses for the contiguous and different phonemes may lead earlier acquisition for the same place of articulation of the speech sounds. Specifically, bilabial soudns are followed by alveolar and palatal sounds in order. The latter results also showed that tense consonants got a high rate of recognition beside lax consonants according to the age and sex.

본 논문에서는 음성에 따른 얼굴 애니메이션을 사실적으로 표현하기 위한 조음기관(혀, 성대 등)의 움직임을 시각화하는 방법을 제시한다. 이를 위해서, 음성에 따른 얼굴 애니메이션을 위한 말뭉치(Corpus)를 생성하고, 생성된 말뭉치에 대해서 음소 단위의 분석(Phoneme alignment) 처리를 한 후, 각 음소에 따른 조음기관의 움직임을 생성한다. 본 논문에서는 조음기관의 움직임 생성을 위해서 얼굴 애니메이션 처리에서 널리 사용되고 있는 기저 모델 기반 형태 혼합 보간 기법(Blend shape Interpolation)을 사용하였다. 그리고 이를 통하여 프레임/키프레임 기반 움직임 생성 사용자 인터페이스를 구축하였다. 구축된 인터페이스를 통해 언어치료사가 직접 각 음소 별 조음기관의 정확한 모션 데이터를 생성토록 한다. 획득된 모션 데이터를 기반으로 각 음소 별 조음기관의 3차원 기본 기저를 모델링하고, 새롭게 입력된 음소 시퀀스(phoneme sequence)에 대해서 동기화된 3차원 조음기관의 움직임을 생성한다. 이를 통해 자연스러운 3차원 얼굴 애니메이션에 적용하여 얼굴과 동기화된 조음 기관의 움직임을 만들어 낼 수 있다.

본 논문은 Gesturewndcjq 이론에 근거한 폐쇄음의 조음장소와 폐쇄음의 폐쇄구간 길이와의 상관관계에 대한 가설 즉, 연구개음의 폐쇄구간이 양순음이나 치음의 폐쇄구간에 비해 짧을 것이라는 가설을 실험음성학적으로 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 이 가설을 완 전히 뒷받침해주지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 폐쇄음의 조음방법에 따라 약간의 차이를 보이 긴 하나 세 조음방법 상에서 적어도 양순음과 연구개음의 폐쇄구간 길이에 있어서는 본 연 구가 예측한대로 양순음의 폐쇄구간 길이가 연구개음의 폐쇄구간 길이보다 긴 것으로 나타 났다. 그러나 치음의 경우는 연구개음의 폐쇄구간과 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았 다. 본 논문은 Gesture 이론이 폐쇄음 조음에 있어 폐쇄음 gesture와 주위 모음의 gesture와 의 중첩정도 외에 여러 다른 음성학적 사실들을 동시에 고려할 필요가 있음을 보여주었다. 즉, 폐쇄음 조음시 폐쇄강의 크기, 조음기관의 움직임 속도, 폐쇄강 내 압력 형성에 걸리는 시간, 그리고 폐쇄음 조음시 턱의 높이 등에 대한 고려의 필요성을 제시하였다.

This study aimed to investigate speech motor control in adults who stutter (AWS) by testing whether articulation rate changes with practice and linguistic complexity. Eleven AWS and 11 adults who do not stutter (AWNS) repeated four sentences of different lengths and syntactic complexity [simple-short (SS), simple-long (SL), complex-long (CL), and faulty-long (FL) sentences]. Overall articulation rates of each sentence were measured and compared between groups. Practice effects were evaluated by comparing the articulation rates of the first three, middle four, and last three productions. Overall, the AWS had significantly slower articulation rates than AWNS across the four sentences. The longer sentences showed significantly slower articulation rates than the baseline sentence (SS). The articulation rates of the middle four and the last three productions were significantly faster than those of the first three productions of each sentence in both groups. The articulation rates of the SS, SL, and CL sentences indicated a consistent practice effect. The slower articulation rates of the AWS are consistent with a speech motor limitation. There was no interaction with linguistic complexity or practice, so a slower articulation rate may be a general feature of the speech of AWS. Both AWS and AWNS showed practice effects with faster articulation rates which may reflect a degree of adaptation to the stimuli.

본 연구의 목적은 한국에 존재하는 세 종류 파찰음/ㅈ,ㅊ, ㅉ/의 시간적.공간적 조음 특성을 전자구개도와 스펙트로그램 분석을 통하여 면밀히 검토해 보려는 것이다. 이를 위하여 두 실험이 행해 졌는데, 조음 음성학적인 실험(전자구개도를 이용한 실험)에는 한 명의 피험자가, 그리고 음향 음성학적인 실험(음향 자료의 스펙트로그램 분석)에는 세 명의 피험자가 발화한 자료가 이용되었다. 대상이 되는 세 자음들은 /ㅏ_ㅏ/, /ㅡ_ㅡ/, /ㅣ_ㅣ/ 등 세 모음 사이에서 발화되었으나, 모음이 자음의 조음에 미치는 영향, 즉 모음_자음 동시조음은 본 연구의 범위에서 제외되었다.

연인두 폐쇄 부전으로 보상조음이 있을 때, 말 명료도를 저하시킬 뿐 아니라 실제의 연인두 기능이 과소평가 될 수 있으므로 이에 대한 감별 및 언어치료가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 연인두 폐쇄 부전 환자들에서 보상조음의 출현율을 알아보고 어떤 음소들이 영향을 받는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 또한 연령과 과비성의 정도에 따른 차이도 살펴보았다. 1998년 3월부터 2003년 6월까지 삼성서울병원에서 연인두 폐쇄 부전으로 진단 받고 언어치료를 받지 않았거나 언어치료 경험은 있지만 일반화되지 않고 중단된 환자 105명의 조음 및 공명 평가 자료를 분석하였다. 연령은 평균 11.3세(2.1세부터 63세)였고 7세 이하의 아동집단이 65명, 성인집단이 40명이었다. 조음은 구강압력자음인 파열음, 마찰음, 파찰음에서의 보상조음의 유무 및 종류를 분석하였다. 과비성의 정도는 경도, 중도, 심도로 평가하였다. 호주 영어의 단어 중 한국인과 일본인이 구별하기 어려운 'work', 'walk', 'wok' 세 단어에 대해 다룬다. 우선 한국인과 일본인이 이들 세 단어를 어떻게 조음할 것인가를 예측하고, 실제로 한국인과 일본인 화자들이 조음한 자료를 가지고 모듬의 음질과 길이 두가지 측면으로 나누어 예측한 사항과 비교하고 또 이들 단어를 조음할 때 한국인과 일본인 사이에 어떤 음성 음운적 특징이 나타나는지도 비교 분석한다. 결과는 모국어의 음성, 음운적 영향이 목표어의 음소를 습득하고 발음하는데에 영향을 미친다는 사실을 보여주고 있다. 하지만 wok/wo k/의 예는 언어 보편적인 요소가 L2의 음소를 습득하는데 있어 또 하나의 요소로 작용하고 있음도 알려주고 있다.
