Dynamic Analysis for Evaluation of Speed Control Hump Dimensions (과속방지턱 설치규격 검토를 위한 동역학적 분석)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the characteristics of installation dimensions of speed control humps based on the theoretical dynamic analyses. The field surveys of speed control humps were performed first to compare their sizes with those suggested in the installation standard. Then, the displacement response spectra under impact loads were obtained using the single degree of freedom models where the vehicle and human were assumed to combine completely. The analysis results showed that the human perception became larger as the width and height of the humps increased, but the extremely higher uncomfortableness should be avoided. In addition, the ratio between the width and height should be considered when the humps are designed and installed because the ratio governs the vertical acceleration magnitude.

  • 난간의 각 구성요소는 설치장소 및 용도에 따라 여러 설치 관련규정에 의해서 규제되어 있는데 이 규정은 난간의 높이에 대한 규정으로, 이러한 규제된 난간의 요소 중 하나인 난간 높이와 실지 소비자들이 느끼는 심리적 안정성이 일치하는가에 대한 여부는 여전히 의문으로 남아있다. 건물의 옥상에 설치된 난간에 대해서 난간의 높이가 아닌 다른 어떠한 구성요소가 실지로 소비자들에게 조형적 안정감을 주는지에 대한 부분은 연구가 상당히 미흡하다고 생각한다. 본 연구는 부산에 위치한 초등학교를 대상으로 4층 이상의 고층구조물에 설치되어 있는 난간을 범주로 하여 설문조사를 실시하고, 난간이 설치되어 있는 현장에서는 EKG(심전도 테스트)를 시행, 사용자들이 기존에 인지하고 있는 난간에 대한 느낌과 현장에서 실제로 느끼는 조형적 측면의 심리적 안정감 및 다른 요소를 분석하여 사용자가 안정감을 가질 수 있는 난간디자인에 필요한 구성요소를 발견하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 또한 기존에 사용하고 있는 난간 설치의 규정의 정당성 여부를 고찰 및 재조명하여 사용자의 심리적 안정성을 충족시키는 가에 대한 자료 제시를 목적으로 한다.

Comparison of Shoot Growth in the Populations of Zizanis latifolia along Water Depth (수심에 따른 줄(Zizania latifolia) 개체군의 경엽무 생장 비교)

  • Differences in physicochemical characteristics of sediment and changes in density, height and dry matter of shoots along different water depths were investigated in the stands of Zizania latifolza populations of the littoral zone of Lake Paltangho, Korea. Any significant differences in sediment chemistry were not found along water depth, although sand content decreased slightly with increasing depth. Shoot density of Zizania latqolia decreased with increasing water depth. In shallower water, many of the short shoots died in the early growth stages. The morphology of shoots was taller and heavier in deeper water. The distributions of shoot heights became negatively skewed and leptokurtic as plants grew, and these changes occurred in the earlier growth stages in deeper water. The standing crop of shoots increased with increasing water depth. These results suggest that Zizania lattfolia has a growth strategy for adjustment to deep water through decreasing shoot density and increasing height.

  • Using a numerical model solving the shallow-water equations, unusual huge run-up heights observed in the lees of both Babi and Okushiri islands were investigated in detail. The effects of incident tsunami widths were particularly examined by adjusting the transverse length of the wave-maker in laboratory and numerical experiments. The calculated run-up heights were compared with the laboratory experimental data. It has been found that the run-up heights in the lee of a conical island are strongly dependent on the ratio of a transverse length of incident tsuanmis to a base diameter of the island. Analysis on the Risk of Explosive Terror in Domestic Buildings (국내 건물의 폭발물 테러 위험도 요인 분석)

  • According to the global status of terroristic acts occurred from 2002 to 2010, 10,431(nearly 52.2%) of 19,946 cases have happened by bomb blasts, and 10,431(nearly 52.2%) of weapons used for terrorism were explosive substances Therefore, this study analyzed the terrorism risks of buildings according to height through FEMA 455 - rapid visual screening. As a result, the higher the building is, the higher the terror risk gets. It shows that total risk increases proportionally to buildings's height. In case of buildings over 100 meter high, the total risk is most affected by threat items. According to the risk of explosion associated with the scenario analysis, buildings over 100 meter high have high risks of Internal-Explosive.

Effect of an emitting-layer height on a photon extraction efficiency in LED (LED에서 발광층의 높이가 광추출 효율에 미치는 영향)

  • In this paper, for the typical LED and the tilted LED, when there is no electrode, when 20% absorption (80% reflection) occurs at the electrode, and when 60% absorption (40% reflection) occurs at the electrode, the effect of the absorption at the electrode and the height of the active region on the photon extraction efficiency and the mean photon path length was investigated, and an appropriate height of the active region was proposed. In a typical LED, as the absorption of the electrode increases, the photon extraction efficiency decreases from 18% to 15% and 13%, and the photon extraction efficiency is highest when the height of the active area is located in the center between the two electrodes. In the tilted LED, as the absorption of the electrode increases, the photon extraction efficiency decreases from 38% to 33% and 25%, and the photon extraction efficiency is highest when the height of the active area is located in the center between the two electrodes. The tilted LED can increase the photon extraction efficiency more than twice than that of a typical LED, where photons are trapped inside the chip due to total reflection.

Effects of Cutting Height on Forage Yield and Nutritive Value of Brittle Culm-Rice (Brittle Culm 벼의 예취높이가 청예수량 및 영양가에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to determine the effects of cutting height on the yield and nutritive value of brittle culm rice. A brittle culm cultivar, KL501, was compared with a non-brittle culm rice, Seomjinbyeo. The cultivars were grown in paddy until flowering stage at which the first cutting was made followed by the second cutting on October 20. Cutting regime conducted were 0, 5, 10 and 20cm from the surface. Herbage yield, TDN and other nutritive values were measured. As the higher cutting height, crude protein, fat and NFE (nitrogen free extract) contents were increased and crude fiber and ash content were decreased at the first cutting, while those at second cutting were increased except NFE content. Fresh and dry matter yield at 10cm cutting height, Seomjinbyeo was 4.45 and 1.16t /ha, KL501 was 4.71 and 1.14t /ha, respectively. TDN content of first cutting was increased as the higher cutting height, but that of second cutting was decreased. TDN yields of Seomjinbyeo and KL501 at 10cm cutting height were highest by showing 0.63t /ha and 0.61t /ha, respectively.

Flight of Matsucoccus thunbergianae Males in Response to Synthetic Pheromone Placed at Various Heights above Ground and the Wind Speed (합성(合成)페로몬의 지상(地上)높이별(別) 위치(位置) 및 풍속(風速)에 따른 솔껍질깍지벌레 수컷의 비행(飛行))

  • Matsucoccus thunbergianae is a major insect pest of Pinus thunbergiana in southern Korean peninsula. To study the flight behavior of M. thunbergianae males responding to the synthetic pheromone, five sticky traps were placed on a bamboo pole at various heights, between 0.1m and 2.0m above ground. A bait impregnated with the synthetic pheromone was placed at 0.1m, 1.0m or 2.0m above ground and the number of male catches on each trap was counted. In an open area, numbers of males caught per trap were not different between heights when the bait was placed at 2m or 1m above ground ; when the bait was placed at 0.1m height, male flight was aggregated near the ground. In a forest with low crown closure, trap catches on five traps on the same bamboo pole were not different one another when the bait was placed at 2m height, but most males were flying near the bait when it was placed at 1m height. In a dense pine forest, most males were flying around the bait regardless of the bait position. In all three places, most males were caught on the trap near the ground when the baits were placed 0.1m above ground. Thus, for monitoring the frontal zone of infestation of the scale, placing the pheromone trap near the ground was considered the most efficient. When the males perceived pheromone, they tended to fly in the air with low wind speed.
