Design of Safety and Arming Device of the Fuze using Solenoid for Improving Safety (안전성 증대를 위해 솔레노이드를 적용한 신관 안전장전장치 설계)

  • The safety and arming device(SAD), one of the components of the fuzes, shall provide safety that is consistent with handling, storage, transportation, use, and disposal. In this paper, we describes the design of the SAD which includes the solenoid assembly and the solenoid driving circuit to improve the safety of the fuzes. The solenoid assembly consists of a coil assembly, a restoring spring, and a core. The solenoid assembly is added in the SAD as an additional safety device. In case of the normal circumstances, the core of the solenoid assembly restrains the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ safety devices of the SAD for those devices not to operate at all, so that the SAD can secure safety for storage, transportation, and use. In contrast, when the battery power is provided to the solenoid driving circuit just before the flight, the core confirms the power level and starts removing the restraint from the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ safety devices of the SAD, and then the SAD is able to change its mode from safety mode to armed mode. After firing, once the SAD's operations complete, the turned-on arming switch stops providing the power to the solenoid assembly automatically. It can reduce the power consumption at solenoid assembly. Therefore, the proposed solenoid driving circuit for the solenoid assembly not only unlocks the restrained solenoid assembly from the safety devices, but also saves the power consumption during the flight.

  • 본 연구는 지하 구조물의 내벽에서 발생하는 습윤(濕潤) 및 결로를 방지하는 내벽체에 관한 것으로, 사방으로 연결조립 가능한 벽체판넬의 한쪽을 수직 지지프레임에 끼움 조립한 상태에서 타카핀으로 벽체판넬 및 수직 지지프레임을 동시 관통하여 내벽에 고정한 후 상기 수직프레임에 다른 벽체판넬의 일측을 중첩되게 조립하는 방법으로 지하 구조물에 내벽체를 편리하게 시공할 뿐만 아니라 공기를 단축하며, 상기 내벽체의 구성부품이 매우 간소하면서 가격이 저렴하여 공사비를 대폭 절감할 수 있는 시공이 편리한 지하 구조물용 내벽체의 개발에 관한 것이다.

  • This paper deals with the study on injection with EPDM(Ethylene propylene dien ter polymer) the gap which narrow, long, and tubular between an ablative composite tube and a steel motor case. Small size motor assembly was designed and manufactured for man-portable air defense propulsion system. Motor assembly is consisted with steel tube, ablative composite tube and insulation rubber. Ablative composite tube was made of carbon/phenolic prepreg by rolling process and insulation rubber was made of EPDM by TPM(Trans-power molding) process. To select the insulation rubber material, we tested ablative insulation property and degradation property at first and we tested fluidity, adhesive property and hardness of EPDM rubber. Finally we designed TPM process to manufacture motor case assembly and the motor case assembly was examined by non-destructive test(X-ray).

  • 뉴테이션(Nutation, 장동)은 자이로스코프와 같은 큰 축 대칭 물체의 회전축에 대해 작은 불규칙적인(어원적으로 "nodding") 운동이다. 위성체가 회전상태에 돌입하게 될 때 위성체가 순수한 회전 운동이 아닌 뉴테이션 운동을 일으킬 경우, 이를 제거하기 위하여 뉴테이션댐퍼(NutationDamper)를 사용한다. 유도탄에 들어가는 부품 중에서 자이로조립체 내에 들어 있는 뉴테이션댐퍼의 개발을 하고자 본 연구를 수행 하게 되었으며, 자이로조립체 내에서 뉴테이션댐퍼의 역할은 자이로조립체의 원주상에 환형 튜브 형상으로 장착되어 자이로조립체가 세차운동(Precession)을 할 때 부가적으로 수반되는 바람직하지 못한 떨림(Wobble motion)인 뉴테이션을 감쇠시키는 기능을 수행한다.

  • 콜로이드 결정 (Colloid crystal)이란 용액 상에서 부유 하는 작은 입자들의 자기 조립 (self-assembly)에 의해 형성된 주기적인 2차원 혹은 3차원 구조를 말한다. 이러한 결정 구조는 광학 필터나 스위치, 광 밴드 갭 재료, 바이오 센서 등의 과학 기술적인 응용을 비롯하여 액화 물질의 상 변화 등과 같은 물리적 현상을 규명함에 있어서 중요한 모델을 제시한다. 특히 최근에 콜로이드의 자기 조립체는 자연적으로 갖게 되는 주기적인 유전율 변화 때문에 빛의 진행 방향이나 특성을 조절할 수 있는 광자 결정 (Photonic Crystal) 구조 제작의 경쟁력 있는 접근 방법으로 각광 받고 있다.   • The fuel pump, which is used for an aircraft, was first developed in Korea through the Civil-Military Dual Components Development Program. The BLDC motor type, which is superior to the DC brush motor when considering efficiency, endurance, and explosive environmental characteristics, was applied to the fuel pump given its capacity and operating condition. The magnetic flux of the permanent magnet was analyzed based on the magnet flux density equation, using the Maxwell equation and the environmental condition. The motor performance, according to the load, was analyzed using the finite element method in order to design validation. The motor assembly was developed by designing the motor drive and the EMI filters. The performance test results of the motor assembly for the fuel boost pump were consistent with the analysis.

  • A two-dimensional thermal response and ablation analysis code for predicting charring material ablation and shape change on solid rocket nozzle is presented. For closing the problem of thermo-structural analysis, Arrhenius' equation and Zvyagin's ablation model are used. The moving boundary problem are solved by remeshing-rezoning method. For simulation of complicated thermal protection systems, this method is integrated with a three-dimensional finite-element thermal and structure analysis code.

  • This study fulfilled analysis of startup characteristics of Turbo pump unit-Gas generator open loop test from the viewpoint of simulation. The test results were investigated and the calculated results were compared to test results. The curve for RPM developing predicted by simulation agreed well with test result. The slope of transient combustion pressure of gas generator correspond with test result.

  • Electronic components for space launch vehicles are exposed to a severe vibrational environment at launch and flight. The structural reliability of each component can be verified using mathematical approaches. In order to verify the structural reliability, an important parameter is the natural frequency of PCB(Printed Circuit Board) assembly mounted electronic components on and housing mounted PCB assembly in. In this paper, in order to find natural frequencies of PCB assemblies and the housing of hydrazine TCU(Thruster Control Unit), FEM(Finite Element Method) is adapted. The analytical result of FEM is verified by experimental method.
