The steel-plate concrete composite beam is composed of a steel plate, concrete and a shear connector to combine the two inhomogeneous materials. In general, the steel plate is assembled by welding an existing composite beam. In this study, a new steel-plate concrete composite (SPCC) beam was developed to reduce the size of the shear connector and improve its workability. The SPCC beam was composed of folded steel plates and concrete, without any shear connector. The folded steel plate was assembled with high strength bolts instead of welding. To improve the workability in field construction, a hat-shaped cap was attached in the junction with the slab. Monotonic two-point load testing was conducted under displacement control mode. The flexural strength of the SPCC beam specimen was calculated to be 76% of that of the complete composite beam by using the plastic stress distribution method and strain compatibility method. The cap acted as the stud and accessory. The synthesis rate could be increased by controlling the gap of the cap, and the bending performance could be evaluated by using the strain fitting method considering the synthesis rate of the SPCC beam.

A cabinet-door integrated finite element model for a built-in side-by-side refrigerator with an ice dispenser and home bar was constructed, and its deformation was analyzed by ANSYS. As loads, the food load in the shelf and baskets, and thermal load occurring during the normal operation condition were considered. From results of the analyses, the door height difference (DHD) and door flatness difference (DFD) between the two doors, and the increase in the gap of the door gasket, which affects the sealing of cool air in the cabinet, were derived. As results of an evaluation of the differences, the DHD and DFD under the assembled condition satisfied the acceptance criteria of the manufacturer. The food and thermal loads increased the DHD and DFD due to thermal deformation, and the DFD increased significantly. In addition, the increase in the gap of door gasket located between the cabinet and doors was derived from the results of displacements under the food and thermal loads. The evaluation showed that the maximum increase in gap appeared at the left edge of the freezing compartment gasket, which satisfied the acceptance criteria of the manufacturer.

In recent years, non-welded building hardware has been installed by bolt assembly is used. The non-welded building hardware method can reduce accidents caused by welding, and can be constructed by bolt assembly, which can reduce labor costs and shorten the construction period. However, there is a need for a method to compensate for the occurrence of buckling at the time of construction. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the behavior of joints between steel pipe and fastener and to evaluate the behavior of joints of non-welded and welded hardware frame. As a result, it was found that the foundation steel structure without welded joints was deformed to a rotation angle of member much larger than the allowable interlayer displacement angle 0.01 to 0.02 required according to the seismic load rating in the seismic load resistance system.

The study examines the shearing and crushing characteristics of land-derived subaqueous granular materials in a gravel-bed river. A series of large-sized ring shear tests were performed to examine the effect of shear time and shear velocity on the shear stress characteristics of aquarium gravels with a 6-mm mean grain size. Three different shear velocities (i.e., 0.01, 0.1, and 1 mm/sec) were applied to measure the shear stress under the drained (long-term shearing) and undrained (short-term shearing) conditions. Different initial shear velocities, i.e., 0.01→0.1→1 mm/sec and 0.1→0.01→1 mm/sec, were considered in this study. The test results show that the grain crushing effect is significant regardless of drainage conditions. The shear stress of coarse-grained materials is influenced by initial shear velocities, regardless of the drainage conditions. In particular, particle breakage increases as grain size increases. The shearing time and initial shear velocity are the primary influencing factors determining the shear stress of gravels. The granular materials may be broken easily into particles through frictional resistance, such as abrasion, interlocking and fracture due to the particle-particle interaction, resulting in the high mobility of granular materials in a subaqueous environment.
Differential Strain Analysis (DSA) was performed to examine the characteristics of microcracks for the granites from two sites, Noeunri and Gunggiri. The results of the DSA are taken every 5 MPa for the first 50 MPa, then every 10 MPa to a pressure of 100 MPa, and then every 15 MPa to a pressure of 250 MPa. Differential strain was measured on core samples in three horizontal directions, using $45^{\circ}$ rosette strain gages, and one vertical direction. The gradients of cumulative crack strain curves in one vertical direction and three horizontal directions differed from one another, indicating anisotropic crack development in the sample. The magnitude of vertical cumulative crack strain was the highest, indicating that the microcracks from the studied rock are generally developed in horizontal direction. Under the pressure of 240 Mpa, vertical cumulative crack strains for samples N-1, N-2, G-1, and G-2 were $74{\times}l0^{-6}~820{\times}l0^{-6},\; 190{\times}l0^{-6}~460{\times}l0^{-6},\; 329{\times}l0^{-6}~836{\times}l0^{-6},\; 833{\times}10^{-6}~1,592{\times}l0^{-6}$, respectively. Under the pressure of 25O MPa, volumetric crack strains for Gunggiri and Noeunri ranged from $1,804{\times}10^{-6}\; to\; 3,936{\times}10^{-6}\; and \;from,\; 1, 125{\times}10^{-6}\; to\; 1,457{\times}10^{-6}$, respectively. Therefore, the amount of microcrackes produced were more distributed in Gunggiri than Noeunri. The ratio of a maximum crack strain to a minimum crack strain was calculated to find the orientations between microcracks and the rift plane of the granites. Generally, the ratio has very high values ranging from 2.42 to 3.43, which suggests most microcracks to be intragranular cracks with the regular orientations. These results indicate that the preferred orientations of microcracks in the granites were almost parallel to the rift plane of the granites.
[ $L1_0$ ]phase FePd nano-dot structures were successfully fabricated on self-organized Fe/Au bilayers. With atomic force microscopy, it is determined that surface morphologies of initially flat Fe/Au bilayer films were agglomerated and transformed their shape into nano-dots structures with increasing annealing temperature. With this bilayer as a template, FePd multilayers were deposited at various temperatures, i.e. $300^{\circ}C$, $350^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$, and $450^{\circ}C$. Surface morphologies of FePd superlattice had a near resemblance to self-organized bilayer. According to X-ray diffraction results, it is confirmed that $L1_0$ superlattice structures of FePd were obtained from samples which were annealed above $350^{\circ}C$. Results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy depth-profile analysis showed that chemical composition is identical to deposition sequence. As a result, without additional etching processes, fabrication of chemically ordered FePd superlattice nano-dots was achieved.

A gear forming method by cold extrusion and an analytical method with its numerical solution program based on the upper bound method were developed. In the analysis the involute curve was as a shape of die and the upper bound method was used to calculate energy dissipation rate. By this method the power requirement and optimum conditions necessary for extruding helical(spur) gear were successfully calculated. These numerical solutions are in good agreement with experimental data. In the experiment, 4-6 class helical gear of KS standard for automobile transmission was successfully manufactured.
Recently the construction of residential buildings faces many difficulties due to the shortage of building materials and works. Simplifying the stage of processing and assembling reinforcing rods and increasing the efficiency of them in reinforced concrete construction can be used to settle the difficulties. In the respect, structural wire-fabric and loop wire-fabric is utilized. The purpose of this study, on condition of being $210kg/cm^2$ concrete strength, is to analyze the structural and flexural properties of one-way concrete slabs by testing with different reinforcing type, tensile steel ratio based with minimum steel ratio, boundary condition and splice length which affect the maximum width of crack and ductility factor. From the test results, the ductility factor is approved that the slabs using deformed bar were much better than that using wire-fabric, and 30D of splice length was appropriate in the slabs as splice length. In the control of the maximum crack width the slabs using wire-fabric and loop wire-fabric were much better than that using deformed bar.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the static & dynamic behavior of a precast bracket under precast road deck slab of double deck tunnel. In order to improve the construction speed, the field prefabricated bracket to connect the intermediate slab to the precast shield tunnel lining structure has been developed in the 'SPC (Steel Precast Concrete) bracket'. The experiments were performed for the full scale model in order to evaluate the performance of the 'SPC bracket', the structural stability was verified through the FEM analysis. The result of static loading test, no deformations or cracks of the bracket undergo the ultimate load was investigated. In addition, no pulling or deformation of the chemical anchor for fixing the bracket was measured. As a result of dynamic loading test, it was investigated that there is no problem in the chemical anchor for fixing the bracket. FEM analysis showed similar behavior to static load test and it was determined that there is no problem in serviceability and structural safety.
