This study was carried out objectively to analyze the distributing flora for the conservation of natural environment and to construct the database in Mt. Joryeong, Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. The period of survey was from November, 2004 to September, 2005, and the routes were A (Recreation $forest{\sim}Shinseon-bong$), B $(Shinseon-bong{\sim}Mapae-bong)$, C(Joryeong 3rd $gateway{\sim}Mapae-bong$), and D $(Yongseong-gol{\sim}Gitdae-bong)$. The vascular plants were summarized as 341 taxa; 85 families, 219 genera, 299 species, 36 varieties, and 6 forma. The rare and endangered plants designated by Korea Forest Service were 3 taxa; Paeonia japonica, Viola albida, and Rhododendron micranthum. The Korean endemic plants were 9 taxa; Cephalotaxus harringtonia, Salix caprea, Deutzia coreana, Spiraea prunifolia for. simpliciflora, $Lespedeza{\times}tomentella$, Vaccinium koreanum, Salvia chanroenica, Weigela subsessilis, and Cirsium setidens. And in the results of survey on resource plants, we confirmed 171 taxa of ornamental plants (50.1%), 222 taxa of edible plants (65.1%), 237 taxa of medicinal plants (69.5%) and 146 taxa of other useful plants (42.8%).

This study's objective was to conduct species identification and tree-ring dating of wooden elements used in Mungyeong Juheulgwan of Joryeong (Gate No. 1). Of the 84 wooden elements evaluated, 76 were confirmed to be hard pines, 5 were soft pines, and 3 belonged to Abies spp. For tree-ring dating, cores of the wooden elements were collected using a drill, and ring-width plots of individual samples were constructed using the TSAP software. The results of performing tree-ring dating for the outermost ring of 59 hard pine wooden elements revealed the following 4 felling dates: summer of 1708-late fall of 1709, summer of 1792-early spring of 1794, late fall of 1838-early spring of 1840 and 1867, and early spring-fall of 1872. These felling dates were found to be consistent with those in the construction and repair records of the Annals of Joseon Dynasty, Juhulgwan Jungsugi, and those engraved on Juhulgwan Walls. It is believed that some of the wooden materials harvested at that time were stored and used since there was a difference of approximately10 years between the repair records and felling dates.

이번에 개정된 건축법 시행령(대통령 령 제 6834호)이 1973년 9월1일 부로 공포되었다. 이것은 이미 개정 공포된 건축법(법률 제2334호 1972. 12.30 )에 대한 시행령인 것이다. 개정된 건축법이 공포되기 전에 (본지 1972년 12월호), 필자는 건축법 개전(안)에 대해서 소견을 피력한 바 있으며, 아울러 작년 ‘건축사’지 6월호에 발표한 ‘현행 건축법에 있어서의 문제점’에서도 여러 가지 문제점에 대해서 언급한 바 있었는데, 여기에서 지적한 문제점들이 이번 개정된 건축법과 시행령에서 많이 다루어져 있어, 흐뭇한 마음 금할 수가 없다. 아직도 미흡한 점이 있다고는 하나, 금반 개정으로 많이 보완되었으며, 건축법은 그것의 성질로 보아 완벽을 기할 수 없는 것이고, 시대의 변천에 따라 건축도 진보ㆍ발전하는 것이므로, 그에 따라 건축법도 개정하여 나아가야 한다는 것은 당연한 일이다. 그러나 충분한 연구도 없이 조령모개하는 식의 개정은 지양하여야 하며, 한번 개정하는데도 신중을 기해야 할 것이다. 실무에 종사하는 필자로서, 평소에 생각하던 것을 조문에 따라, 이번에 개정된 부분과 과법에 지적하지 안했던 것들 중에서 문제점을 모아 간추려 보고자 한다.
