Manufacturing and Characteristics of Fruit Wine from Acanthapanax sessiliflorus (오가피 열매 발효주의 제조 및 특성)

  • Fruit wine from Acanthopanax sessiliflorus(A. sessiliflorus) including many pharmacological components was manufactured and its functional properties were investigated. The fruit part of A. sessiliflorus contained 75.74${\pm}$0.49%(w/w) moisture, 12.51${\pm}$1.23%(w/w) crude protein, 4.20${\pm}$0.51.%(w/w) crude fat and 5.21${\pm}$1.64%(w/w) crude ash. Minerals of fruit were potassium(12.94${\pm}$0.08 mg/g), calcium(1.53${\pm}$0.06 mg/g) and magnesium(1.12${\pm}$0.05 mg/g). Initial soluble solid and fermentation temperature were 24-30$^{\circ}$Brix and 20${^{\circ}C}$ for manufacturing fruit wine from A. sessiliflorus. When initial soluble solid of a must was adjusted to more than 30$^{\circ}$Brix, ethanol production was suppressed slightly. The polyphenol content of the fruit wine fermented at 20${^{\circ}C}$(125.24${\pm}$1.86 mg/mL) was higher than those at 25${^{\circ}C}$(99.69${\pm}$2.11 mg/mL) and 30${^{\circ}C}$(95.55${\pm}$1.54 mg/mL). Electron donating activities of wines fermented at 20, 25 and 30${^{\circ}C}$ were 85.9${\pm}$2.3, 55.7${\pm}$2.5 and 55.2${\pm}$3.4%, respectively. The content of eleutheroside B increased up to 146.58${\pm}$4.10 $\mu$g/mL during fermentation. There was no significant effect of fermentation temperature on eleutheroside B content. The fruit part of A. sessiliflorus can be used as a valuable resource for development of nutraceutical foods.

The Nutritive Value of Grains from Barley Cultivars (Wooho, Youngyang, Yuyeon) (청보리 종실의 품종별(우호, 영양, 유연) 사료가치 평가)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the nutritive value of grains from barley cultivars (wooho, youngyang and yuyeon) for substitution of the feedstuffs as corn and soybean meal. In results of proximately analysis, the crude protein concentration was significantly higher (p<0.05) in barley grains than in corn and the crude fat concentration was significantly lower (p<0.05) in barley grains than in soybean meal. The metabolism energy of barley grains was significantly lower (p<0.05) than corn and it was higher (p<0.05) than soybean meal. The in vitro results of pepsin digestibility was significantly higher (p<0.05) in soybean meal than in barley grains and corn, and it was similar barely grains with corn. Barley grains significantly higher (p<0.05) the composition of saturated fatty acids than corn and soybean meal, while lower (p<0.05) the compositions of unsaturated fatty acids and essential fatty acidsin barley grain. The composition of linolenic acid, concentration of lysine and mineral was significantly higher (p<0.05) in barley grains than in corn, while lower (p<0.05) than soybean meal. Therefore, the barley grains is sufficient for substitution of corn. Moreover, the barley grain of yuyeon has high concentrations of crude protein, metabolism energy, lysine and minerals compared with barley grains of wooho and youngyang.

Physico-chemical and Sensory Characteristics of Cooked Sausage Substituted with KCl or MgCl2 for NaCl (KCl 또는 MgCl2의 NaCl 대체 소시지의 이화학적 및 관능적 특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigate changes in physicochemical and sensory properties of cooked sausages replaced sodium chloride (NaCl) to potassium chloride (KCl) or magnesium chloride ($MgCl_2$) during storage for 30 days under $4^{\circ}C$. All sausages were prepared with different combination of salts as follow; CTL (1.5% NaCl), KCL (0.9% NaCl+0.6% KCl), MCL (0.9% NaCl+0.6% $MgCl_2$), KML (0.9% NaCl+0.3% KCl+0.3% $MgCl_2$) and PST (1.5% PanSalt). Among sausages moisture content in KML was the highest (p<0.05). Lightness and redness in CTL were lower than those of other treatments, but MCL and KML containing $MgCl_2$ showed higher CIE $L^*$ and $a^*$ values than CTL. The pH in CTL was the highest during storage, however, no significant difference was determined between two treatments, MCL and KML (p>0.05). Crude fat content and water holding capacity (WHC), hardness and cohesiveness of MCL sausages were higher than those of CTL. In sensory characteristics of cooked sausages, saltness in MCL was the lowest during 10 and 20 days of storage (p<0.05). Yellowness in PST was lower than other treatmeants. Gumminess and chewiness of texture property of sausages from MCL and KML were higher than CTL. The results indicate that the replacement of NaCl by KCl improved texture, but meat color was not improved as expected. In contrast, the replacement of NaCl by $MgCl_2$ enhanced color, texture and WHC, whereas partial replacement of NaCl by $MgCl_2$ must reduce bitter taste as compared to sausages manufactured with a NaCl only. Therefore, $MgCl_2$ may be a salt replacing NaCl in cooked pork sausages.

  • Das koreanische Verwaltungsprozessgesetz (KVwPG) wurde am 24. 8. 1951 kodifiziert. Es hat bisher mehrmals $ge{\ddot{a}}ndert$. Der Regierungsentwurf des KVwPG-${\ddot{A}}nderungsgesetzes$ vom 30. 3. 2013, ist fast $drei{\ss}ig$ jahre nach der Novellierung des KVwPGs 1984 erfolgt und auch spiegelt sich die Erfolge der $Bem{\ddot{u}}hungen$ in Literatur und Rechtsprechung wider. Aber es gibt nicht nur einige Unterschiede zwischen dem Regierungsentwurf und dem Entwurf der Kommission des Justizministeriums zur ${\ddot{A}}nderung$ des KVwPG (dem sog. Kommissionsentwurf), sondern auch der Regierungsentwurf ist theoretisch nicht problemlos. Vor allem sind Begriff und Umfang der neuen Klagebefugnis nicht klar. Des weiteren sind in ${\S}$ 12 des Regierungsentwurfs die Klagebefugnis mit dem $Rechtsschutzbed{\ddot{u}}rfnis$ identisch gesehen. Der $Rechtsschutzbed{\ddot{u}}rfnis$ nach ${\S}$ 12 Satz 2 des Regierungsentwurfs kann aus meiner Sicht relativ eng ausgelegt. Die $Einf{\ddot{u}}hrung$ der Verpflichtugnsklage in den Regierungsentwurf ist sehr gut, aber es kann trotzdem als problematisch angesehen werden dass Feststellungsklage der Rechtswidrigkeit der Unterlassung und Anfechtungsklage gegen Ablehnung bestehen noch. Der Begriff der Unterlassung ist $unn{\ddot{o}}tig$ und auch strikt. $Vorl{\ddot{a}}ugier$ Rechtsschutz des Regierungsentwurfs ist unter dem Gesichtpunkt der Rechtsschutz der $B{\ddot{u}}rger$ noch zu verbessern, aber doch das Modell des japanischen Verwaltungsprozessgesetzes darf nicht befolgt werden. Aufbau und System des $vorl{\ddot{a}}ufigen$ Rechtsschutzes sind auch nicht eindeutig. Nach Gegenstand und Klageart muss das Institut des $vorl{\ddot{a}}ufigen$ Rechtsschutzes in Ordnung gebracht werden. Es ist nicht ${\ddot{u}}berzeugend$ dass die $Einw{\ddot{a}}nde$ gegen die $Einf{\ddot{u}}hrung$ der vorbeugenden Unterlassung mit dem Gewaltenteilungsprinzip und der $Eigenst{\ddot{a}}ndigkeit$ der Verwaltung erhoben sind. $Dar{\ddot{u}}ber$ hinaus ist ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) zu beachten. In Bezug darauf ist Rechtgrundlage $f{\ddot{u}}r$ Mediation in der Verwaltungsgerichtsbarkeit zu stellen.

  • This study was undertaken to investigate whether the local Woori black pigs could replace Duroc as the terminal sire in order to reduce foreign currency outgoings. This study compared the physicochemical properties of pork loins in two cultivars of three-way crossbred pigs: Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire ${\times}$ Duroc (LYD) and Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire ${\times}$ Woori black pig (LYW). A total of 119 pigs (59 LYD and 60 LYW) aged 180 days were used in the experiment. After 24 hours of cooling, pork loins were assessed for their physicochemical traits, meat color, fatty acid and sensory evaluation. The moisture content and water holding capacity showed no significant difference between the two cultivars. Fat content and cooking loss were significantly higher in LYW than in LYD (p<0.05), whereas shear force and pH were significantly lower in LYW than LYD (p<0.05). Redness ($a^*$), yellowness ($b^*$), and stearic acid (C18: 0) content were also significantly higher in LYW than in LYD (p<0.05). Sensory evaluation revealed significantly higher meat color and flavor in LYW than LYD (p<0.05). Taken together, these results indicate that certain physicochemical qualities are improved in the LYW cultivar, as compared to LYD. Therefore, Woori black pig (W) has the potential to be substituted for Duroc, a breeding pig used currently.

Inhibition effect of herbs on the rancidity of soybean oil (허브의 첨가에 의한 대두유의 산패억제 효과)

  • In this study, we investigated the inhibition effect of various herbs on the rancidity of soybean oil. The antioxidant activity of herb-infused oils was evaluated by examining their total phenolic contents and DPPH radical scavenging abilities. The total phenolic contents were found to increase with addition of herbs to the soybean oil. Rosemary-infused oil (RO) exhibited the highest total phenolic contents ($77.28{\mu}g\;GE/mL$), followed by the lemon-balm-infused oil (LO), green-tea-infused oil (GO), and soybean oil (SO) alone (36.82, 36.66, and $21.24{\mu}g\;GE/mL$, respectively). Similary, the DPPH radical scavenging activity of the herb infused oil also increased. Moreover, measurements on the total polar compound (TPC) contents, acid value, and p-anisidine value were carried out in order to confirm the changes in the rancidity of the oils during frying. The time for the TPC content to reach 25% was confirmed to be delayed from 62 h for SO to 68 h, 74 h, and 80 h for GO, RO, LO, respectively. Even though there were some differences between the p-anisidine and acid values, it was confirmed that the addition of herbs inhibited the rancidity of soybean oil. Therefore, the results in this study show that adding herbs to soybean oil could positively contribute to the inhibition of oxidation and rancidity.

Influence of Cultivated Regions in Organic and Conventional Farming Paddy Field (벼 유기농업과 관행농업에 미치는 재배지역의 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out optimum cultivated regions for rice organic farming. The organic and conventional rice as control were grown in three different places : secluded hill paddy field for Hapcheon, normal rural paddy field for Sancheong, and suburban paddy field for Jinju from 2005 to 2006. In secluded hill paddy field, the organic material and pesticide to control pest and disease were input twice for organic and conventional rice cultivation. However, in normal rural and suburban paddy field, those were input three times for organic and conventional rice cultivation. The occurrence of sheath blight in organic farming was higher than in conventional farming. Whereas brown planthopper population per 20 plant was significantly high 10.1~19.5 for conventional farming compared with 4.4~10.0 for organic farming. For that reason, the density of the brown planthoppers was higher in organic farming than those in conventional farming. Dominated weeds occurred in organic and conventional paddy field were namely Monochoria vaginalis, Ludwigia prostrata, and Cyperus difformis. The population per 20 plant and dried weight per $m^2$ of weeds were higher in 121 and 50.5 g for organic paddy field. The productivity of rice in different cultivated regions for organic farming was $2.96Mg\;ha^{-1}$ in hill paddy field, $4.03Mg\;ha^{-1}$ in normal rural and suburban paddy field. Toyo-taste value and ratio of perfect grain of milled rice were not different by cultivated regions in both farming system.

Effect of Mixed Cultivation with Green Manure Crops and Liquid Pig Manure on Rice Growth (녹비작물과 돈분액비의 혼용재배가 벼 생육에 미치는 효과)

  • The effect of mixed cultivation with green manure crops and liquid pig manure on rice growth was investigated. Field experiment in site 1 (Astragalus sinicus L.) and site 2 (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) were designed with control (non-green manure crop), PLM 100 (non-green manure crop + liquid pig manure 100%), A(L)PLM 0 (green manure crop + PLM 0%), A(L)PLM 50 (green manure crop + PLM 50%), A(L)PLM 75 (green manure crop + PLM 75%), and A(L)PLM 100 (green manure crop + PLM 100%). The results of 1,000 grain in rice plant were in the order of APLM 100 ${\geqq}$ APLM 75 ${\fallingdotseq}$ PLM 100 ${\fallingdotseq}$ APLM 0 ${\fallingdotseq}$ APLM 50 ${\fallingdotseq}$ control for site 1 and LPLM 100 ${\geqq}$ LPLM 75 = LPLM 50 = PLM 100 ${\geqq}$ LPLM 0 ${\fallingdotseq}$ control for site 2. The yields of rice in site 1 and site 2 were $636kg\;10a^{-1}$ (increasing yield 10%) for APLM 100 and $775kg\;10a^{-1}$ (increasing yield 12%) for LPLM 100, respectively.

Response of Structural, Biochemical, and Physiological Vegetation Indices Measured from Field-Spectrometer and Multi-Spectral Camera Under Crop Stress Caused by Herbicide (마늘의 제초제 약해에 대한 구조적, 생화학적, 생리적 계열 식생지수 반응: 지상분광계 및 다중분광카메라를 활용하여)

  • The response of vegetation under the crop stress condition was evaluated using structural, biochemical, and physiological vegetation indices based on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images and field-spectrometer data. A high concentration of herbicide was sprayed at the different growth stages of garlic to process crop stress, the above ground dry matter of garlic at experimental area (EA) decreased about 46.2~84.5% compared to that at control area. The structural vegetation indices clearly responded to these crop damages. Spectral reflectance at near-infrared wavelength consistently decreased at EA. Most biochemical vegetation indices reflected the crop stress conditions, but the meaning of physiological vegetation indices is not clear due to the effect of vinyl mulching. The difference of the decreasing ratio of vegetation indices after the herbicide spray was 2.3% averagely in the case of structural vegetation indices and 1.3~4.1% in the case of normalization-based vegetation indices. These results meant that appropriate vegetation indices should be utilized depending on the types of crop stress and the cultivation environment and the normalization-based vegetation indices measured from the different spatial scale has the minimized difference.

Experimental Study on the Performance Improvement of Velcro Reinforcement through Internal Filling (내부충진을 통한 벨크로 보강재의 성능향상에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • During the earthquake, for multi-story structure, if the first floor is soft, the deformation will concentrate on that floor causing a serious damage to the column members which might leads to the collapse of the whole structure like Piloti structure during the Pohang earthquake in Korea. According to the 2016 National Disaster Management Research Institute's "Investigation of Seismic Reinforcement and Cost Analysis of Domestic Non-seismic Buildings", the rate of seismic resistance of private reinforced concrete buildings was 38.3 %. Among them, it was reported that the seismic-resistance ratio of the two to five-story structures was less than 50 %. Accordingly, the government is trying to improve the seismic rate through support projects, but the conventional seismic reinforcement methods are still expensive, and emergency construction is difficult. Therefore, in this study, the field applicability was evaluated by improving the reinforcement method using Velcro, which was developed through the research project of the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs in 2014. In order to improve the performance of the Velcro reinforcement method, introducing the initial tension of Velcro using high foaming rigid urethane filling between the Velcro and concrete of the columns was applied. Additionally, an experiment was conducted to evaluate the ductility of Velcro specimen from the concrete confinement effect. As a result, the ductility of the Velcro specimen was improved compare to Normal specimen. However, the energy dissipation capacity of VELCRO2 is better than VELCRO1, yet the maximum ductility of those two specimens did not show a significant difference. Therefore, the improvement of the internal filler material is still needed to have a better maximum ductility.
