This study examined the awareness levels of stroke warning symptoms and the related factors among residents in a province and this paper presents the evidence for education and promotion strategies. The study subjects were 585 adults living in a province. The demographic factors and awareness levels of stroke symptoms were surveyed through a telephone interview. In the survey, the most frequently recognized warning symptoms were 'sudden speech disturbance (84.6%)', and 'sudden weakness of one side (73.9%)'. On the other hand, 'sudden dizziness (67.0%)', 'sudden visual impairment (55.4%)' and 'sudden severe headache (51.3%)' were less recognized. In a multiple regression analysis, male, young age, no familial history of stroke, no acquaintance history of stroke, low educational level, no exposure to promotional literature were significantly related to a low awareness level of the stroke warning symptoms. Providing customized programs will be helpful for enhancing the efficiency of promotion and education to the population with a low awareness level of stroke symptoms.

The purpose of this research was to determine the degree of awareness of early symptoms of stroke and myocardial infarction in adults diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes, and to analyze factors related to unawareness. Raw data from the 2017 Community Health Survey were utilized. A total 12,277 adults older than 40 years were included in analysis finally. The early symptom awareness rates of stroke and myocardial infarction were 53.6% and 46.8%, respectively. Logistic analysis was performed to assess factors associated with unawareness of early symptom of stroke and myocardial infarction. After correcting for socio-demographic variables, education for the management of hypertension, recognition of blood pressure level and HbA1c level were significantly related to stroke early symptom unawareness on multivariate analysis. (Education for the management of hypertension, recognition of blood pressure level and HbA1c level were significantly related to the unawareness of early stroke symptoms even after socio-demographic variables were corrected in multivariate analysis.) Recognition of blood pressure level and HbA1c level were also significantly associated with unawareness of early symptoms of myocardial infarction. Therefore, it is required to interventions and strategies to improve the level of awareness of early symptoms of cardio-cerebrovascular disease, such as accelerating promotion and strengthening education for high-risk groups who must manage both hypertension and diabetes.

심실조기수축(PVC: Premature Ventricular Contraction)은 성인에게서 가장 흔하게 발생되는 심장 부정맥 증상 중의 하나이다. 심실조기수축 부정맥이 자주 발현되는 사람의 경우 관상 동맥질환, 고혈압 등의 심혈관계 질환이 진행되고 있을 가능성이 많고, 심실빈맥이나 심실세동으로 전이되는 경우 심정지 등을 유발하여 사망에 이르기 때문에 지속적으로 관찰이 필요한 증상이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 R-R 간격 정보를 이용하여 심실조기수축 부정맥 증상을 실시간으로 검출할 수 있는 신호처리 알고리즘을 구현하고자 하였다.

This paper proposes a novel algorithm to assess the abnormal heart beats such as PVC (Premature Ventricular Contraction) and its subsequent RUNs. Our Arrhythmic detection scheme is based on only the R-R Interval features extracted from ECG waveforms and MIT-BIH arrhythmia database is evaluated to validate the efficiency of our algorithm in terms of sensitivity, specificity, FPR(%) and FNR(%).

배나무잎 이상반점증상의 보독여부를 신속정확하게 검정할 수 있는 목본 지표식물을 선발하기 위해 시험을 수행하였다. 신고x조생적 등 5개 교배조합 102개체를 공시해서 1차로 10개체를 선발하였다. 1차로 선발된 개체중에서 전형적인 이상반점증상이 조기에 잘 나타나고 이상반점증상과 유사한 검은무늬병에 저항성인 신고$\times$조생적 86-2-2 계통을 최종선발하였다. 선발된 지표식물을 사용하여 농가포장에서 이상반점 증상의 보독여부를 실증시험한 결과 보독유무의 조기판별이 가능하였다. 이상의 결과에서 최종 선발된 신고$\times$조생적 86-2-2계통을 PS-95로 명명하고자 한다.

최근 젖소를 사육하는 농가들은 고능력, 고비유의 젖소 생산과 유지를 목표로 노력하고 있으나, 질병으로 인한 피해를 최소한으로 막기 위해서는 조기 발견과 조기 치료가 필요하다. 매매일을 젖소와 같이 생활하는 속에서 1두, 1두의 젖소의 질병 발생 유무를 파악하는 것이 중요하며, 아픈 젖소가 나타나는 증상 중 낙농가가 알기 쉽고 주의하면 알 수 있는 병의 증상과 주요 질병의 대처요령을 알기 쉽게 정리하여 대동물임상수의사들을 대상으로 소개하고자 한다.

사회가 발전하면서, 사람들이 겪어야 하는 질병도 실로 다양화 되고 많이 변화되어가고 있다. 그래서인지, 많은 사람들이 흔하게 가지는 소화불량이나 속쓰림 같은 것은 병이 아니라, 어쩌다 생겼다가 지나가는 증상으로 밖에서 평가(?)받지 못한다. 그러나 그렇게 사소한 소화불량이 나중에 알고 보니 심각한 위장병의 시초였다는 것을 주위 사람의 경험을 통해 잘 알고 있다. 평소 소화불량으로 고생하다가 건강관리협회에서 위 투시검사를 받고 위염을 조기 발견해 치료에 성공한 유지현씨(23세, 서울시 구로구 시흥1동)의 경우를 보면서, 사소한 증상의 점검으로부터 질병을 조기 발견하는 것이 얼마나 중요한 지를 느낄 수 있다.

Untypical symptoms and lack of diagnostic records make it difficult for even medical specialists to detect rare diseases. Thus, it takes a lot of time and money from the onset of symptoms to an accurate diagnosis, which seriously results in physical, mental, and economic pressure on patients. In this paper, we propose and implement an early detection assistance system for rare diseases using web crawling and text mining, which can suggest the names of suspected rare diseases so that medical staffs can easily recall the disease names and make a final diagnosis of the rare diseases.
