Foamed concrete for cast-in-site, which shows excellent lightweight, thermal insulation, noise insulation, constructability and cost efficiency, has been applied as thermal insulation or filling material for On-dol. However, the technology is too insufficient to obtain the high level of quality, and serious problems often occur in quality control at sites. It, thus, is necessary to establish the proper and reasonable quality control method for ensuring the required quality, based on the investigation on the physical properties and their reciprocal relation. This study aims to settle the quality control method in case of applying FA foamed concrete replacing 40% by weight with fly-ash as the filling material for On-dol. The results of the study include the correlation among flow, as-placed density and foam ratio of fresh foamed concrete, the correlation between physical properties before hardening and after 28-day, provision of an equation to estimate 28-day compressive strength early with 7-day compressive strength, and suggestion of quality criteria for the revision of KS on foamed concrete for cast-in-site.
Shear behaviors of eight dapped ends of four full-scale domestic single-tee slabs were evaluated. The dapped ends with 10cm topping concrete were designed based on live load requirements for the domestic parking lot of m 500kgf/㎡ and for the large market of 1,200 kgf/㎡. All specimens were designed by the ACI 318-99 design. The variations of the experiment were the shape of hanger reinforcements as followings: 1) general PCI design method(currently used in domestic), 2) 90 degree bent-up, 3) 60 degree bent-up. All experiments were conducted with 1.2 m shear span. The results obtained in this study were 1) all specimens fully complied with the shear strength requirements as specified by ACI 318-99 except for one strand bond slip specimen, 2)a specimen with the 60 degree bent up hanger reinforcing detail showed the best shear behaviors under full service and ultimate load, and 3)a specimen with the 90 degree bent up hanger reinforcing detail resulted in the worst shear behaviors.
Recently the ground subsidence which seriously weakens the safety of cities tends to increase. The purpose of this paper is to develop the materials by using industrial by-products for the application to emergency restoration process in case of ground subsidence. In this paper the laboratory tests including pH test, initial setting test, unconfined compressive strength test, and flow test were performed in order to evaluate the design properties of Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM). The field test was carried out for evaluating the performance for the early strength of CLSM and the workability for emergency restoration. Test results showed that the strength will be too high to re-excavate the ground when the cement ratio is more than 4%. The optimum mixing ratio appears to be most effective when the mixing ratio of the bottom ash and the gypsum is approximately 50:50 and the cement content is 2%.

Early algorithm education is very important in order to nurture excellent S/W developers in an information society. However a algorithm learning is a great challenge to elementary school students since understanding what a computer algorithm written in a static text format meant to do is difficult. It is expected that a student can easily visualize a algorithm through animations. In this study, we evaluate the pedagogical effectiveness of algorithm visualizations in teaching the fundamental data structures and algorithms in elementary schools. Thus we defined a new measure called 'Algorithm Visualization Factor(AVF)' and developed both text-oriented and animation-oriented PPTs of algorithm education elements, that is, Stack, Queue, Bubble Sort, Heap Sort, BDF, and DFS. We have conducted experiments and evaluations on diverse students groups. Extensive experiment results show that the average score of the student groups using animation-orirented PPT is greater(22%) than the one of the student groups using text-orirented PPT.

This paper presents experimental research work for the evaluation of ultimate flexural behaviors of prestressed concrete beams with a corroded tendon. In order to evaluate the effects of loss of prestress or loss of tendon area on the ultimate flexural strength of prestressed concrete beams, static load tests are conducted using five prestressed concrete beams. After exposing prestressing tendons in two test beams using 25mm drill bit, the exposed tendons were corroded using an accelerating corrosion equipment to simulate loss of tendon area. During the tests, steel strains, concrete strains and displacements at the center of test beams were measured, and acoustic emission measurements were conducted to detect wire fractures. Based on the test results, evaluation method for predicting flexural strength of prestressed concrete beams with corroded tendons is investigated. In addition, evaluation methods for predicting the existence of corroded tendons in post-tensioned prestressed concrete beams at service loads are discussed.

The naval structure exposes to environmental vibration of shafted propeller propulsion and engine vibration. The shipboard equipments are developed compliance to MIL-STD-167-1A. For this purpose, vibration fatigue life of shipboard equipment for long lives should be estimate via an analytical approach and vibration test. In this paper, High cycle fatigue strength of cast aluminum alloy A356 using shipboard equipment was evaluated by 14 S-N method. The stress applied on the structure is evaluated by an analytical method(frequency response analysis with sinusoidal input and a fatigue evaluation) to simulate a MIL-STD-167-1A test. The frequency with the maximum equivalent stress is shown by Max. test frequency and the vibration fatigue life of shipboard equipment was estimated by Miner's rule.

Controlled low strength material(CLSM) has been developed using variety of material such as excavated soil, industrial by-product and industrial waste. But theses research limited at laboratory test and failed at commercialization. So in this paper evaluates CLSM used excavated soil characteristics such as flowability, bleeding rate, early strength for following process and 28day strength for re-excavatability. Also, various mix proportion of CLSM by water-binder ratio and soil-binder ratio were evaluated in laboratory. And derive the optimized CLSM mix proportion for using at field application test by movable batch plant. After applying CLSM at trench, evaluate core sample strength and excavatability by shovel, pickax and excavator for verify re-excavation. Furthermore, measure the level change after casting CLSM to inspect subsidence stability. As results of these assessments, not only confirmed the characteristics of CLSM at field but the fillability around pipe and subsidence stability.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the fire resistance of ultra-high-performance concrete according to the amount of polypropylene fiber. Different mixtures according to the amount of polypropylene fiber were exposed to a maximum temperature of 900℃; and explosive spalling, residual compressive strength, and ultrasonic velocity of each specimen were evaluated. Test results showed that the fire resistance can be improved by including a small amount of polypropylene fiber in ultra-high performance concrete. It was not observed that explosive spalling occur at a temperature of 900℃ when the polypropylene fibers over 0.4% were included. Residual compressive strength and ultrasonic velocity decreased by 48% and 44%, respectively, compared to those at room temperature.
Most of the soil used for reclamation is marine clay generated from dredging construction. The soft ground made of dredged clay has high water content and high compressibility, so the bearing capacity of the ground is very weak and it is difficult to enter the ground improvement equipment. Therefore, surface hardening treatment method is used to enter equipment prior to full-scale civil engineering work, and stabilizer is mainly used for cement series. Cement-based stabilizers have the advantage of improving the ground in a short period of time and have excellent economic efficiency, but they are disadvantageous in that they cause environmental problems due to leaching of heavy metals such as hexavalent chromium. In this study, environmental effects evaluation of dredged clay mixed with normal portland cement and environmentally friendly stabilizer was evaluated, and uniaxial compressive strength test and indoor model test were conducted to confirm the bearing capacity characteristics of the solidified layer.

Recently, production cost of ready mixed concrete has been increased due to the rising cost of raw materials such as cement and aggregate etc. cause by the upturn of oil price and increase of shipping charge. The delivery cost of ready mixed concrete companies, however, has been decreased owing to their excessive competition in sale. Consequently, ready mixed concrete companies began to manufacture the concrete by mixing ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBF) and fly-ash in order to lower the production cost. Therefore, the objective of this study was to predict 28 days strength of GGBF slag concrete by early strength(warm and hot water curing method) for the sake of managing with ease the quality of ready mixed concrete. In experimental results, the prediction equation for 28 days compressive strength of GGBF slag concrete could be produced through the linear regression analysis of early strength and 28 days strength. In order to acquire the reliability, all mixture were repeated as 3 times and each mixture order was carried out by random sampling. The prediction equation for 28 days strength of GGBF slag concrete by 1 day compressive strength(accelerated testing) according to warm and hot water curing method won the good reliability.
