Ecthyma gangrenosum is usually seen in immunocompromised patients, particularly in those with underlying malignant disease. Ecthyma gangrenosum is rapidly progressing skin infection characterized by edema, hemorrhage, bullae and necrosis. We experienced the case of a 13-month-old male who had Ecthyma gangrenosum associated with liver abscess and renal abscess. The patient initially presented with skin lesions of multiple well defined central necrotic black colored large erythematous bullae. The multiple liver abscess with hepatomegaly and multifocal pyelonephritis with focal renal abscess revealed by abdominal ultrasonogram and computed tomogram. In the bacterial cultures of skin, urine and liver aspiration fluid, Pseudomonas aeruginosa was grown. The patient had no immune deficiency disease. We report this case with a review of related literatures.

Over the past decades, the immense clinical need for early detection methods and treatments for dementia has become a priority worldwide. The advances in PET biomarkers play increasingly important roles in understanding disease mechanisms by demonstrating the protein pathology underlying dementia in the brain. Amyloid-β and tau deposition in PET images are now key diagnostic biomarkers for the Alzheimer's disease continuum. The inclusion of biomarkers in the diagnostic criteria has achieved a paradigm shift in facilitating early differential diagnosis, predicting disease prognosis, and influencing clinical management. Furthermore, in vivo images showing pathology could become prognostic as well as surrogate biomarkers in therapeutic trials. In this review, we focus on recent developments in radiotracers for amyloid-β and tau PET imaging in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Further, we introduce their potential application as future perspectives.

현대인에게 있어서 피할 수 없는 스트레스. 이 스트레스로 인해 현대인들은 신체적인 건강뿐만 아니라 우울증 등의 정신건강까지 위협을 받고 있으나 정신과라는 좋지 않은 인식으로 인해 정신건강은 제대로 치료되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 양극성 장애(조울증)를 앓고 있다면 이야기가 좀 달라져야 한다.

농약회사, 대학 및 연구소, 농업기관 농업인으로 HRAC조직을 구성하여, 저항성잡초의 발생원인 규명, 저항성잡초에 대한 대책방안 제시, 저항성잡초관리요령의 대농민 홍보 및 교육, 조기진단 시스템구축, 최적의 농약살포 방법 모색 및 시행 등으로 구성원간의 상호 연계하여 필요시에는 역할을 분담하여 효율적으로 운영할 필요가 있다.

당뇨병의 여러 합병증은 주기적인 검진과 함께 환자들도 인식을 많이 하고 있다. 그러나 상대적으로 생명과는 별 연관이 없는 듯 보이고 환자에 따라서는 일시적일 수 있는 신경병증과 이에 따른 발병변에 관해서는 관심이 덜한 편이다. 하지만 조금만 신경쓰면 별 문제없이 생활할 수 있는 발질환을 대수롭지 않게 여기다 결국 조기진단과 치료가 안되어 고생하고, 심지어 발을 절단해 삶의 질을 떨어뜨리는 환자가 많다.

최근 국내 여성의 유방암 발생율은 1위를 차지하며 그 비율 또한 나날이 늘어가고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 유방암은 다른 암에 비해 5년간 관찰 생존율이 약 76%로 갑상선에 이어 두 번째의 생존율을 보이며, 이는 조기발견의 중요성을 다시 한번 상기시키게 한다. 하지만 국내에서 사용되는 유방암 조기검진 방법에는 Mammography(유방촬영술)와 초음파 진단 두 가지가 주를 이루고 있으나 촬영과정 및 장비에 따른 오차로 인한 객관화된 정보생성 부족 및 전달의 부족으로 문제점이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Mamography 및 초음파 유방 진단술을 이용하여 전문의의 의사결정에 도움을 줄 수 있는 CAD(Computer Aided Diagnosis) 시스템의 유방암 진단의 특징을 이용, 전문의 관점의 모델링을 기술해보고자 한다.

Esophageal perforation due to the air pressure generated by forcefully evaporating gas is seldomly reported. If the diagnosis is confined to the injury of the oral cavity and the pharynx, missing the injury of the esophagus, the result may be fatal. Cases like this must be managed by early diagnosis and appropriate surgical intervention. The most important thing for early diagnosis is suspicion of esophageal injury from history and physical examination. We report two cases of esophageal pneumatic perforation caused by an explosive gas from the carbonated beverage bottle.

심장의 활성 근육의 움직임에 의하여 발생되는 전기적 변화량을 나타내는 심전도는 부정맥 또는 허혈성 심장질환을 진단하는데 널리 활용되고 있다. 특히 심실빈맥(Ventricular Tachycardia) 또는 심실세동(Ventricular Fibrillation)과 같이 치명적인 심장리듬이 발생하기 이전에, 심실조기수축(Ventricular Premature Contraction)을 검출하여 생명을 위협할 수 있는 부정맥을 조기에 진단할 수 있는 연구들이 일부 진행되고 있다. 이에 따라서 본 연구에서는 심전도 신호의 R-R 간격 정보와 R-peak 정보의 진위성을 판단하여 PVC 부정맥 패턴뿐만 아니라 PVC 파형이 연속적으로 진행되는 PVC-RUNs을 효율적으로 검출할 수 있는 부정맥 진단 알고리즘을 제안하고자 하였다.
