The Effects of EGR and Hydrogen Enriched Gas on Diesel HCCI Engine (디젤 예혼합 압축착화 엔진에서 EGR 및 수소농후가스의 영향)

  • In recent years, there has been an interest in early-injection diesel engines as it has the potential of achieving a more homogeneous and leaner mixture close to TDC compared to standard diesel engine. The more homogeneous mixture may result in reduced NOx and soot emissions and higher efficiency in homogeneous charge compression ignition engines. While earlier studies have shown that a reduction in NOx emissions from HCCI engine is possible, there are some significant problems including the control of ignition timing and combustion rate. In order to investigate the effect of EGR and hydrogen enriched gas on combustion characteristics and emissions, an experiments with single cylinder CRDi engine were carried out concerning the formation of various premixed charge, which can achieved by early injection, EGR and hydrogen enriched gas. EGR was not effective to further reduce NOx and PM emissions. It was found that NOx emissions were decreased with an introduction of hydrogen enriched gas and an adequate diesel fuel amount.

  • 지구환경보존이 세계적인 과제로 되어있는 오늘날 디젤엔진으로부터 배출되는 배기배출물에 대한 문제가 대두되고 있으며, 미국의 캘리포니아주(CARB)에 있어서는 세계최초로 농업기계용 엔진을 포함한 운송용 엔진에 대하여 엄한 배기가스 규제법안을 세워 시행중에 있다. 또한 전미, 유럽 및 일본에 동일한 검사가 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 디젤엔진으로서 문제가 되고 있는 배기성분인 NOx와 파라큘레이트(PM)에 대한 저감대책으로 최근 고압분사(HSDI), EGR 및 후처리(De-NOx) 촉매등의 연구가 시행되고 있으며, 전망이 기대되어지고 있다. 그러나 경제성, 내구성, 제품의 크기, 차량의 중량증가 등이 과제로 남겨지고 있다(유강택 외 1997). Performance and Emissions Characteristics of a Diesel Engine with Some Bio-oil Fuels (몇가지 바이오 연료를 이용한 디젤기관의 성능 및 배기 배출물 특성)

  • 대체연료로서 바이오 연료의 디젤엔진에의 적합성을 파악하기 위하여 경유, 가온 미강유, 초음파 적용 가온 미강유, 미강유 메틸 에스테르, 폐식용유, 초음파 적용 폐식용유, 폐식용유 메틸 에스테를 14kW 예연소실식 디젤 엔진의 연료로 사용하여 그 성능과 배기배출물을 측정하였다. 시험에 사용한 바이오 연료들에 의해 엔진 분사 펌프의 조정이나 다른 부품의 개조를 하지 않고도 단기간 전부하 상태로 1,600~2,800 rpm 의 범위에서 엔진은 정상적으로작동하였다. 바이오 연료를 사용하였을 경우 전반적으로 엔진성능과 배기 배출물 특성에 있어서 경유를 사용하였을 경우와 비견할만 하였으며 특히 매우 낮은 농도의 $SO_2$와 매연을 배출하였다.

  • The design method to calculate the main features of propellant tank pressurization system during the development procedure of propellant feed system of the liquid rocket engine was suggested. We have considered the influences of parameters of pressurization gas on the efficiency of the thermodynamic processes in the tank. The optimum value of temperature and velocity of pressurization gas at the entrance of tank are obtained by the suggested way.

  • In this paper, a calculation method of the thermodynamic parameters of cryogenic propellant is proposed when a cryogenic propellant tank is pressurized by gaseous helium(GHe) bubbling. Temperature of cryogenic propellant and mass of dissolved GHe into propellant were analyzed at the various operation of pressurization of tile liquid oxygen(LOX) and hydrogen($LH_2$) tank using helium bubbling. It was evaluated how the GHe bubbling influences to the thermodynamic parameters of LOX and $LH_2$ with results of the analysis. With the proposed calculation method, It will be able to confirm the feasibility of GHe bubbling as a pressurization system of cryogenic propellant tank and to optimize the pressurization system using GHe bubbling.

  • Recently, difficulties in soft ground improvement that caused by effectiveness of the ground improvement, the durability and environmentally friendliness of the injection material come to the fore. This paper studies the field applicability of the SCM in reinforcement and seepage cutoff of the back of an existing continuous wall. SCM uses double rod which imposes heavy pressure($10-100kgf/cm^2$) to disturbed, cut, discharge, and mix the ground. It is observed that a bulb is formed by using cement paste and environmentally friendly injection materials with minimal alkali leaching. Unconfined compression test and fish poison tests are performed. Test results indicate that the method results in higher durability, less leaching through use of the environmentally friendly injection material, and faster mobilization of the strength. In addition, field tests confirm the formation of the bulb and the seepage cutoff wall.

Effects of Intake Gas Mixture Cooling on Enhancement of The Maximum Brake Power in a 2.4 L Hydrogen Spark-ignition Engine (수소 내연기관의 흡기 냉각 방법에 따른 최고 출력 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Since hydrogen has the lower minimum ignition energy than that of gasoline, hydrogen could be also appropriate for the IC engine systems. However, due to the low ignition energy, there might be a 'back-fire' and 'pre-ignition' problems with hydrogen SI(Spark-ignition) combustion. In this research, cooling effects of intake gas mixture on the improvement of the maximum power output were evaluated in a 2.4 L SI engine. There were two ways to cool intake gas mixtures. The first one was cooling intake fresh air by adjusting inter-cooler system after turbocharger. The other one was cooling hydrogen fuel before supplying by using heat ex-changer. Cooling hydrogen was performed under natural aspired condition. The result showed that cooling fresh air from 40 ℃ to 20~30 ℃ improved the maximum brake power up to 6.5~8.6 % and cooling hydrogen fuel as -6 ℃ enhanced the maximum brake power likewise.
