In case of EU and USA, a short sea shipping and coastal shipping which are safer and environmentally better than road transportation are used widely. But a share of freight transport by a coastal transportation is extremely poor in South Korea. In this paper, we propose a Mokpo-Jeju intermodal transportation based on logistics analysis results. Firstly, we investigate a freight and passenger of a Mokpo-Jeju shipping route. And secondly, the intermodal transportations such as sea-train, sea-road, RORO ship system are investigated. Finally, we propose a coastal transportation system utilizing RORO ship system for Mokpo-Jeju shipping route and identify a technical feasibility of a coastal transportation system.

본 연구는 미국의 다양한 연안해운 정책 중 America's Marine Highway Program(AMHP)을 중심으로 분석하였으며 도출된 시사점으로 바탕으로 우리나라 제주도 물류의 고비용을 초래하는 비효율화를 개선하는데 필요한 연안해운 정책의 방향성을 설정하고 공적 역할의 필요성을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.

Bycatch and stranding of sea turtles from Jeju coastal water of Korea were monitered from 2008 to 2009. A total of 41 sea turtles, consisting of 12 greens (Chelonia mydas), 3 loggerheads (Caretta caretta), 1 hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata) and 25 unidentified species, were recorded and observed in those area. Reported stranding and bycatch reached to a peak in August. The largest number of bycatch occurred in the coastal waters around Aewol-eup located in northwest area of Jeju Island. Most of the bycatch were taken by set nets and gill nets, which prevailed over the fishing grounds in the coastal waters of the Jeju Island. It is suggested that an appropriate monitoring system be necessary to conserve endangered sea turtle species in Jeju of Korea.

제주도 근해는 대마난류, 황해 난류, 황해 냉수, 한국 남ㆍ서해연안수, 중국대륙 연안수 등이 출현하여 이질 수괴들이 시기와 계절별로 복잡한 해황을 형성하여 오징어, 갈치, 고등어, 전갱이, 방어, 삼치 등을 어획하는 좋은 어장을 이루고 있다. 우리나라 연안 해역에서는 오징어를 걸이, 대낚시, 전기식설낚시, 연결식낚시, 로울러낚시, 자동조획기 등으로 어획하고 있으나, 이들은 원줄에 오징어 낚시가 수직식으로 연결되어 있다. (중략)

우리나라 연안 해역에서는 오징어를 걸이, 대낚시, 전지식설낚시. 연결식낚시, 로울러낚시, 자동조획기 등으로 잡고 있으나, 이들은 원줄에 오징어 낚시가 수직식으로 연결되어 있다. 그러나 제주도 연안 해역에서는 원줄에 목줄과 오징어 낚시를 연결한 입승식 채낚기 어구를 수동식으로 조업하고 있다. 오징어는 수산 무척추 동물의 두족류중에 십완류에 속한다. (중략)

제주도 동부지역 지하수 염수화 원인을 규명하고자 주요이온성분분석과 환경동위원소 ${^3}H$함량분석을 하였다. 제주도 동부지역 지하수에 대한 각 주요이온과 염소이온과의 상관관계를 보면 지하수의 조성성분비율이 이 지역 연안해수의 것과 유사한 경향을 나타내고 있어 이들 지하수가 해수에 의해 염수화되고 있는 것으로 사료된다. 또한 ${^3}H$함량이 연안과의 거리가 먼 관정일수록 높게 나타났고, 가까운 관정은 해수침입의 영향을 받아 다른 관정보다 ${^3}H$함량이 낮고, 염소이온농도는 높게 나타난 것으로 보아 이 지역 지하수 염수화는 자연 염지하수나 암염등의 용해의 영향인 것으로 사료된다.

제주연안에 서식하는 고둥류 구멍밤고둥, Chlorostoma argyrostoma turbinata, 밤고둥, Chlorostoma argyrostoma lischkei, 명주고둥, Chlorostoma xanthostigma, 눈알고둥, Lunella coronata coreensis, 울타리고둥, Monodonta labio을 대상으로 생식주기를 탐색하였다. 이를 고둥류는 우리나라 전연안의 조간대 지역에 분포하며 해조류가 풍부한 플에 주로 서식 한다(권 등, 1993). 그리고 고둥류는 조간대의 군집분포와 분류학적으로 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다.
