Conformity Assessment of Vertical Static Stiffness Test Method for Rail Pad (레일패드 정적 수직강성 시험방법의 적합성 평가)

  • The vertical static stiffness of rail pads or baseplate pads, which are important components in rail fastening systems for track safety, is a key factor to determine the total track stiffness and a guideline of quality control in the manufacturing process. The vertical static stiffness can be checked by laboratory testing: test methods are EN 13146-9 and KRS TR 0014, which are widely used in the railway field. In this paper, to correct some problems, namely the preloading step, the unloading level, and the holding time in the loading program in the vertical static stiffness test of EN 13146-9 and KRS TR 0014, domestic and foreign test standards of pads were analyzed and then certain schemes for a vertical static stiffness test were proposed. To assess the reliability of the proposed schemes, the vertical static stiffness tests were performed with 4 pads and the validity of the test results was estimated.

Static and Dynamic Behavior of Disk Bearings under Railway Vehicle Loading (철도차량하중에 의한 디스크받침의 정·동적 거동특성)

  • The goal of this study is to ases the static and dynamic behavior of disk bearings under railway vehicle loadings. Several static tests were conducted in a laboratory t bearings, all having the same kind of polyurethane disk as used in the static tests, were installed under a full-sized railway bridge and tested with a running locomotive, the tests results, the static and dynamic stiffness of the disk bearings were estimated and compared. the deformation of the disk bearings under the bridge was measured at varying disk bearing was almost half of that under dynamic loading. In addition, the dynamic stiffness of the fixed disk bearing was 80% higher than that of an expansion disk bearing, since the PTFE in the expansion bearing is displaced. The deformation of the disk bearing did not vary significantly with changes in locomotive's speed. The results of this study can contribute to fast-tracking the formulation of a design technique for disk bearings for railway bridges.

New Equivalent Static Analysis Method of Dynamic Behavior during Progressive Collapse (연쇄붕괴의 동적거동을 고려한 새로운 등가정적해석 기법)

  • In this paper a new equivalent static analysis method of dynamic behavior during progressive collapse is presented. The proposed analysis method uses the equivalent nodal load for the element stiffness which represents the dynamic behavior influence caused by the deletion of elements during progressive collapse analysis. The proposed analysis method improves the efficiency of progressive collapse analysis haying the iterative characteristic because the inverse of the structural stiffness matrix is roused in the reanalysis. By comparing the results obtained by this analysis method with those of GSA code analysis and time history analysis, it is shown that the results obtained by this analysis method more closely approach to those of time history analysis than by GSA code analysis.

Base Isolator의 제작 및 특성실험

  • 본 실험에서는 가장 널리 쓰이는 base isolator의 한 종류로서 laminated rubber bearing을 제작하여 정적 및 동적 특성실험을 수행하였다. 앞에서 간략하게 언급한 실험결과에 대한 분석자료는 상부구조물과 기초와의 분리를 목적으로 본 실험에서 제작한 base isolator의 활용가능성을 검증하였다. 일반적으로 base isolator가 갖는 특성을 대부분 포함하고 있지만 본 실험결과에서 얻은 개선점은 i) 수직강성의 보강 ii) mounting plate와의 볼트연결부분 보완 iii) 최대전단변형을 증가시키기 위해 base isolator의 전체높이 조정 등으로 요약할 수 있다.

A Study on the Static Eccentricities of Buildings Designed by Different Design Eccentricities (설계편심의 크기에 따른 비틀림 비정형 건물의 최종 정적편심 크기의 비교에 관한 연구)

  • To reduce the vulnerability of torsional irregular buildings caused by seismic loads, the torsional amplification factor was introduced by the seismic code. This factor has been applied differently in a variety of seismic codes. In this study, the final static eccentricity, and the lateral and torsional stiffness ratios of buildings designed with different design eccentricities were compared. The increment of the torsional amplification factor resulted in a decrement of the final static eccentricity of the building. However, after reaching the maximum value of this factor, the final static eccentricity of the building increased again. The final static eccentricity of the building designed by multiplying the sum of the inherent and accidental eccentricity by the torsional amplification factor was zero or had a minus value, depending to the position of the vertical element.

  • 지금까지 대형 구조물에 널리 사용되고 있는 Base Isolator는 특히, 지진하중에 대하여 상부 구조물의 지반분리(base isolation)을 이용한 지진제어를 목적으로 하기 때문에 Seismic Isolator라 한다. 일반적으로 면진베어링에는 LRB(Laminated Rubber Bearing) 방식과 R-FBI(resilient-friction base isolator) 방식으로 크게 나눌 수 있다. LRB 방식은 가장 널리 사용되는 면진베어링으로써 방진고무를 주된 재료로 하고 수직강성을 보강하기 위하여 steel plate를 조합하여 제작하며, 초기강성 및 에너지 소산능력을 증가시키기 위하여 단면중앙에 납(lead plug)를 삽입하기도 한다. R-FBI 방식은 방진고무 적층판 내부에 미끄럼판을 가지고 있으므로 LRB 방식에 비하여 더 큰 수평변위를 발생시킬 수 있다. 이번에 설계 제작한 면진베어링은 LNG 저장탱크의 Seismic Isolation을 목적으로 적용대상의 사양에 맞추어 설계 제작하고 성능평가 시험을 수행하여 LNG 저장탱크, 원자로, 대형 건축물등 지진으로부터 보호되어야 하는 대형구조물의 방진재로 적용할 수 있는가를 평가하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 제작된 면진베어링의 설계를 검증하고 방진고무(HDR)재료의 물리적 특성시험, 축소모델에 의한 정적, 동적시험을 통하여 시험방법을 소개하고 이러한 시험결과를 기초로 하여 면진베어리의 성능을 평가하였으며, 면진베어링의 온도변화, 외부 수직하중의 변화등에 따른 특성변화와 LNG 저장탱크와 면진베어링의 체결방법에 따른 시험으로 체결방법을 검증하였으며, 대상물의 사양에 적합한가를 고찰하였다.

The Estimated Stiffness of Rubber Pads for Railway Bridges (철도교용 고무패드의 강성 추정기법)

  • This study analyzed the characteristics of four kinds of bridge rubber pads and suggested a method of determining the stiffness and the damping ratio of the pads.The stiffness of rubber pads can be estimated by a direct static test and a dynamic test indirectly.This study used both methods to determine the pad's stiffness.The damping ratio of pads can be obtained using the dynamic test and the damping ratio of polyurethane rubber pads was estimated to aproximate that of natural and chloroprene rubber pads.The polyurethane rubber pads are harder than natural and chloroprene rubber pads and thus carry larger load bearing capacity.In addition, they showed higher stiffness with the same shape factor than the others and thus are more available for bridge bearings.Although natural and chloroprene rubber pads are elongated to large deformation in the horizontal direction due to vertical loads, polyurethane rubber pads almost do not generate horizontal deformation due to vertical loads regardless of the thickness and hardness of the pads.Therefore, they do not need reinforced plate to restrict horizontal deformation.

  • In this study, the buckling analysis of the vertically curved stiffened web plate was conducted through finite-element analysis, using an eight- and nine-node flat shell element with a substitute shear strain field. To investigate the buckling behavior of the vertically curved web plate with a longitudinal or vertical stiffener under in-plane moment loading, parametric studies were conducted for the variation of the width (b) and ratio of the bending stiffness of the stiffener to that of the plate (${\gamma}=EI/bD$). The static behavior of the vertically curved web plate without a stiffener was also investigated, and then the buckling abilities of the longitudinal and vertical stiffeners were compared under moment loading.

  • 방진고무는 진동을 방지하여 다른 구조물의 진동전달 차단은 물론, 장비의 수명연장 및 효율을 증가시키기 위한 목적으로 사용되는데 이러한 방진고무 의 동적특성을 일반화하는 것은 어렵기 때문에 방진고무 시편의 동특성 해 석시험 결과치를 기준으로 원하는 성능에 부합하도록 방진고무의 재질을 선 정하고 사양에 의한 엔진마운트를 설계 제작하여야 한다. 이번에 제작한 UEM 엔진마운트는 해상용, 육상용 설비에 적용 가능하며, 특히 해상용에 적 용하고 외부 환경에 의한 부식으로부터 방진고무 및 기자재를 보호하기 위 하여 하우징을 특수재질로 제작하였고, 수직.수평력을 고려하여 큰 하중에 견딜 수 있도록 원추형 형상설계와 강성을 보강하였다. 특히, 원추형 형상으 로 제작하여 하중을 일정하게 분산시키고, 사용 가능한 선형영역을 확대 시 켰으며, Buffer(Steel Bar)를 이용하여 높은 파고 등에 의한 외부 충격량에 따른 큰 변위의 발생으로부터 설비를 보호할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 물리적 특성이 같은 방진고무를 사용하고, 적층 수만 다르도록 두가지 모델 UEM-155와 UEM-255를 설계 제작하여 수직.수평방향의 정적시험, 동적시 험, 현장 장착시험 등을 수행함으로써 기업에서 요구한 사양에 적합한가를 고찰하였다.

Evaluation of Static Strength of Mixed Stud Shear Connection in Double Composite Bridges (이중합성 교량의 복합스터드 전단연결부의 정적강도 평가)

  • A railway bridge with a double composite section is proposed to enhance the structural performance of existing two-girder bridges because the governing design parameter of railway bridges is the flexural stiffness. The concrete deck in negative moment regions is neglected in the design of continuous composite bridges assuming the concrete slab has no resistance to tension. Therefore, the flexural stiffness of the composite section in the negative moment region is reduced resulting in the increase of the depth of the steel section. In order to resolve this disadvantage, several methods are suggested and the double composite section is one of the excellent solutions for extending the span length and increasing the flexural stiffness. In this study, push-out tests on lying studs and mixed stud shear connection with lying and vertical studs were performed to investigate the behavior of the shear connection in the double composite section. Static strength of the shear connection was evaluated through the test results and numerical analyses.
