Background: The mental health issues caused by trauma can manifest differently depending on the characteristics of the traumatic event. Particularly, individuals who have experienced sexual trauma are known to have more negative mental health outcomes compared to those who have experienced non-sexual trauma. The mental health issues of individuals who have experienced sexual trauma are severe, and new forms of threats, such as digital sexual crimes, are emerging. This study aimed to investigate whether the type of traumatic event, particularly focusing on sexual trauma events, contributes to differences in mental health outcomes and to identify factors influencing suicidal ideation and potential post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) risk. Methods: Based on an online survey conducted nationwide among adults aged 20 to 50, participants were categorized based on the type of trauma they experienced (sexual trauma events and non-sexual trauma events). The study conducted propensity score matching (PSM) using demographic factors (sex, age group, subjective economic status, and marital status) and resilience protective factors (cognition of recoverability, social support, and protection experiences in childhood) as control variables, excluding the experience of sexual trauma events, to investigate their potential impact on mental health (suicidal ideation and potential PTSD risk). Subsequently, binary logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify factors influencing mental health. Results: Even after PSM, individuals who experienced sexual trauma exhibited more negative outcomes in terms of suicidal ideation and potential PTSD risk compared to those who experienced non-sexual trauma. The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that sexual trauma survivors were 1.9 times more likely to have suicidal thoughts (odds ratio [OR], 1.911) and 2.5 times more likely to have a potential PTSD risk (OR, 2.472). Furthermore, as resilience protective factors became more negative, the likelihood of suicidal ideation and potential PTSD risk increased. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the importance of understanding and supporting individuals who have experienced sexual trauma, highlighting the necessity for strategies aimed at mitigating suicidal ideation and potential PTSD risk among sexual trauma survivors, while also facilitating recovery through the promotion of resilience protective factors.

The changes of electroencephalogram(EEG) in patients with dementia are most commonly studied by analyzing power or magnitude in certain traditionally defined frequency bands. However because of the absence of an identified metric which quantifies the complex amount of information, there are many limitations in using such a linear method. According to chaos theory, irregular signals of EEG can also result from low dimensional deterministic chaos. Chaotic nonlinear dynamics in the EEG can be studied by calculating the correlation dimension. The authors have analyzed EEG epochs from three patients with dementia of Alzheimer type and three matched control subjects. The multichannel correlation dimension is calculated from EEG epochs consisting of 15 channels with 16,384 data points per channel. The results showed that patients with dementia of Alzheimer type had significantly lower correlation dimension than non-demented controls on 12 channels. Topographic analysis showed that the correlation dimensions were significantly lower in patients with Alzheimer's disease on frontal, temporal, central, and occipital head regions. These results show that brains of patients with dementia of Alzheimer type have a decreased complexity of electrophysiological behavior. We conclude that the nonlinear analysis such as calculating correlation dimension can be a promising tool for detecting relative changes in the complexity of brain dynamics.

This study was performed to assess depression/anxiety of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) in children and adolescents and to use them as basic material for subdivied ADHD on phenomenological aspects. 51 hospitalized ADHD children and adolescents were assessed using the Korean form of the Kovacs' Children's Depression Inventory(CDI), Korean Form of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children(STAIC). Their data were compared to normal control of 50 mentally healthy children and adolescents in relation with the dermographic characteristic. The mean scores of CDI and STAIC-5(State) of ADHD group were statistically higher than those of the control group(p<0.01 or p<0.05). The mean scores of STAIC-T(Trait) of ADHD group were higher than those of the control group. These results suggest that the authors suggest that ADHD can be subdivide into pure ADHD, depressive ADHD and anxious ADHD by the comorbidity of the depression/anxiety.

최근 우리나라는 활동량은 적어지고 식생활의 서구화로 열량섭취가 증가하여 성인뿐만 아니라 소아에서도 비만증이 급격하게 증가하고 있다. 소아 및 청소년의 비만은 대개 증식형 비만 형태로 지방세포수가 일단 증가하면 체중조절이 어렵고, 특히 복부비만은 성인 비만으로 이행하기 쉬우며 실제로 어렸을 때 비만에 걸리면 그 중 60~80%가 성인 비만으로 이행된다고 보고되는 바 사회적 관심이 요구된다. 또한 성인과 마찬가지로 소아 비만 자체로도 고혈압, 고지혈증, 심혈관질환, 당뇨 등 다양한 합병증뿐만 아니라 우울증 및 다른 정신적 문제를 동반할 수 있어 보다 적극적인 치료가 필요하다.

기존의 제어실 정보표시는 계통 및 기기정보를 바탕으로 하는 사건중심의 나열식 정보표시체계를 가지므로써 운전원이 표시되는 정보를 검색하고 판단하기까지는 많은 정신적 부담이 있었으며 이로 인한 운전오류가 많이 발생하였다. 이에 따라 본 논문은 일체형원자로(SMART:System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor) 제어실에서 운전원이 감독자 기능을 지원할 수 있도록 운전원이 쉽고 빠르게 필요한 운전정보를 검색하여 필요한 조치를 취할 수 있는 정보체계를 제안한다.

Five crystal modification of droperidol were prepared by recrystallization. They were characterized by UV spectrophotometer, DSC, and X-ray crystallography. Their dissolution pa tterns were also investigated. After storage of 2 months at 100% humidity, all polymorphic modifications were transformed.

Objectives : The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale-Revised is a recently revised scale which has been reported as a valid tool for the assessment of depressive symptoms. It encompasses cardinal symptoms of depression described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental disorders, fourth edition. In this study, we assessed the reliability, validity and psychometric properties of the Korean version of the CESD-R(K-CESD-R). Methods : Forty-eight patients diagnosed as major depressive disorder, dysthymia, depressive disorder NOS according to the DSM-IV criteria using Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview and 48 healthy controls were enrolled in this study. They were assessed with K-CESD-R, K-MADRS, PHQ-9, KQIDS-SR, STAI to check cross-validation. Statistical analyses were performed using calculation of Cronbach's alpha, Pearson correlation coefficient, Principal Component Analysis, ROC curve and optimal cut-off value. Results : The Cronbach's alpha of K-CESD-R was 0.98. The total score of K-CESD-R revealed significantly high correlations with those of K-MADRS, PHQ-9, KQIDS-SR(r=0.910, 0.966 and 0.920, p<0.001, respectively). Factor analysis showed two factors account for 76.29% of total variance. We suggested the optimal cut-off value of K-CESD-R as 13 according to analysis of the ROC curve which value sensitivity and specificity both equally. Conclusions : These Results showed that the K-CESD-R could be a reliable and valid scale to assess depressive symptoms. The K-CESD-R is expected as a useful and effective tool for screening and measuring depressive symptoms not only in outpatient clinic but also epidemiologic studies.
