  • Smartphone use has become a part of everyday life, not only for adolescents but also for elderly and older people. Thus, this study explored the effect of demographic variables, the amount of smartphone usage, type of smartphone use and psychosocial variables on smartphone dependence of the elder group. We analyzed the data of 5627 (50s and 60s) of the Internet overdependence survey data of the Korea Information Society Agency in 2016. As a result of hierarchical multiple regression analysis, More frequency of smartphone use of weekday and weekend, and usage time of smartphone of weekday were related to greater smartphone dependence. More smartphone use for information seeking and games were associated with greater smartphone dependence. And, as loneliness and anxiety increased, smartphone dependence increased, while smartphone dependence decreased, as social capital increased. Through this study, it is necessary to understand characteristics related to smartphone dependence of elder and older group, and to use this knowledge to solve their smartphone dependence. Future studies also need to identify the causal relationship between predictors of smartphone dependence in elderly and older people.

  • The study attempts to suggest potential problem and solutions expected in the process of implementing KASS, which is currently under development to improve the domestic navigation safety system, and to summarize improvement effects of domestic navigation safety system anticipated by the implementation of KASS. Challenges expected in the process of implementing KASS exists in four aspects: emotional, technical, cost, safety aspects. When KASS is implemented and operates, various benefits can be realized. Benefits include cost savings by not using navigation safety systems during takeoff and landing; reduction of flight delays and cancellations by removing airway congestion; increase of aircraft accommodation capacity; reduction of carbon emissions; preparation for future aviation demands and improvement of air transportation safety; and reduction of flight accidents. In conclusion, it is expected to enter into an era of more intense competition due to increased aviation demands. In order to survive in this competitive environment, early introduction of KASS is indispensable. Analysis results of this study are expected to provide reference information for academic research in this area. A possible future research topic include a study predicting the changes in the navigation safety systems introduced by KASS and proposing practical and useful ways to respond the changes.

  • This study explored the possibility of psychological testing as a way to proactively support underachieving students. Among the four-year college students that participated in our study, 43 students who participated in the academic warning support program for the second semester of 2019 and 30 students who had no academic warning experience used the data from the study personality type test. For data analysis, technical statistics, t-test, and correlation analysis were performed using jambi 1.1.9.0 to obtain the Pearson correlation. Studies have shown that the two classes of students differ in their learning behavior patterns. A student with a bachelor's degree warning scored high in the rest of the class, except for rebelliousness, perfection, mixed thoughts, hard work, satisfaction, single-mindedness and type satisfaction. This can be seen as a factor in the psychological conflict, such as the discrepancy between what one likes and what one studies, and lack of available support. It has been confirmed that psychology, emotional parts and economic support are needed as well as learning skills. In addition, this study is expected to provide basic data for proper preemptive support in schools, such as the prevention of dropouts and counseling programs.

  • Consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction is key determinant of brand loyalty and store patronage behavior. But the results of many customer satisfaction surveys implemented by department stores show that consumer satisfactions do not predict the actual patronage behaviors well. The main reason of these surprising results would be that the consumer satisfaction indexes do not include some important determinants of consumer satisfaction. Many customer satisfaction surveys mainly focus on the evaluation of functional benefits including product assortments, merchandise prices and locational convenience. Recent studies indicate that emotional/hedonic benefits strongly influence the consumer satisfaction, intention to repurchase and intention to revisit. Our study suggests that both functional values and hedonic values should be included in developing the index of consumer satisfactions. The purpose of our study is to investigate the relationship between shopping value and consumer satisfaction, and actual patronage behavior. Shopping values is defined as the difference between total benefits and total shopping costs. Total benefits include the dimensions of product quality, service quality, and hedonic benefits. Total costs are classified as the monetary costs and non-monetary cost. The conceptual framework developed for this empirical study is as follows.

Korean adolescents' motivation is generally in line with this universal trend and can be described adequately with these constructs. Nonetheless, there also exist a host of indigenous factors that shape these motivation constructs to be uniquely Korean. The purpose of the present article was to explore some of the socio-cultural factors that appear to wield particularly determining effects on Korean adolescents' academic motivation. Review of the relevant literature identified interdependent self-construal, traditional morals of filial piety, familism, educational fervor, academic elitism, and the college entrance system as important cultural, social, and policy-related such factors. Also discussed in this article were the roles of these factors in creating more immediate psychological learning environments for Korean adolescents, such as parent-child relationships, teacher-student relationships, and classroom goal structures.
