자동차 알루미늄 서스펜션 암 곡률압출공정에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Curvature Extrusion for Automotive Aluminum Suspension Arm)

  • In the automotive industry, aluminum is widely used to reduce the vehicle weight. Aluminum curved extruded components are used for the design of frame parts. This study investigates the curvature extrusion process to produce the aluminum curved suspension arm. In the curvature extrusion process, the bending process is simultaneously carried out with the extrusion process. Firstly, porthole extrusion was investigated by using FE analysis to produce aluminum suspension arm. And then the bending process condition was determined to produce the final suspension arm with the required curvature. In this research, the guide roll movement causes the bending of extruded product. The moving distance and velocity of guide roll were controlled to meet the required curvature of suspension arm. Finally, the curved suspension arm was manufactured by the curvature extrusion experiment under the proposed curvature extrusion condition.

구리-타이타늄 이중봉 직접압출의 공정지도 개발 (Development of A Process Map for Extrusion of Cu-Ti Bimetal Bar)

  • A process map has been developed, which can identify the process conditions for weak mechanical bonding at the contact surface during the direct extrusion of a Cu-Ti bimetal bar. Bonding mechanism between Cu and Ti was assumed as a cold pressure welding. Then, the plastic deformation at the contact zone causes mechanical bonding and a new bonding criterion for pressure welding was developed as a function of the principal stretch ratio and normal pressure at the contact surface by analyzing micro local extrusion at the contact zone. Finite element analyses for extrusion of Cu-Ti bimetal bars were performed for various process conditions. The deformation history at the contact surface was traced and the proposed new bonding criterion was applied to predict whether the mechanical bonding at the Cu-Ti contact surface happens. Finally, a process map for the extrusion of Cu-Ti bimetal bar is suggested.

알루미늄 합금 형재의 열간압출 금형설계 시스템 (A Design System of Dies for Hot Extrusion of Structural Shapes from Aluminum Alloys)

  • A design system of dies for hot extrusion of structural shapes such as Z's, L's, T's, U's and H's from aluminium alloys was developed in this study. The developed design system of dies is based of estimated die design rule system. The design rules for die design are obtained from the handbooks, plasticity theories and relevant references. The environment of the system is AutoCAD and AutoLISP, the graphic programming language was used for the configuration of the system. This system includes five major modules such as section shape design module, die opening number module, die opening layout module, die correction module and die bearing design module that are used to determine design variables. This system would be used to design of dies for hot extrusion from aluminum alloys and widely used in manufacturing course.

  • The characteristic properties of aluminum, high strength stiffness to weight ratio, good formability, good corrosion resistence, and recycling potential make it the ideal candidate to replace heavier materials in the car to respond to the weight reduction demand within the automotive industry. In this paper, FE simulation was carried out to design an appropriate extrusion die for the automobile control arm. Based on the FE simulation result, a new die design has been proposed for uniform material flow in the cross section of extruded product. And then the welding pressure, extrusion load, and the tendency of mandrel deflection were estimated to verify high quality. In the extrusion experiment, it was possible to produce sound product without defects.

얇고 긴 알루미늄 진공용기의 진공 특성

  • 차세대 가속기에 적용할 얇고 매우 긴 알루미늄 진공용기를 제작하고 그 진공특성을 조사하고 있다. 진공용기 내부단면의 크기는 4.8 mm, 두께 0.5 mm (${\pm}50u{\mu}m$), 길이 6,000 mm이며 정밀압출방법으로 제작하였다. 진공용기의 재료는 알루미늄합금 6063이며 베이크아웃하지 않고 $1{\times}10^{-7}$ mbar 이하의 평균진공도를 얻어야한다. 압출제작 직후, 박판 가공 후 진공특성(진공도 변화, 진공용기 변형, 견줌탈기체율, 압력분포)을 베이크아웃 유무에 대하여 조사하였으며 해석적으로 계산한 진공도분포도와 비교하였다.

  • This paper has executed FE-analysis to review the feasibility for developing the process, which produces the narrow-cubic type cans, using the Backward Impact Extrusion process instead of using current process, multi-stage deep drawing. Proposes an analysis method by applying ALE(Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian) description to non-axisymmetric extrusion. which is appreciated as one of good solution to mesh distortion in case of the large deformation plasticity process that has mass flux, and considers the factors which affects forming-loads related to punch velocity and fulid status of material.

  • This paper describes a development of the extrusion process and estimation of the weldability for multi cell tubes used to cooling system of automobiles. A study on extrusion process is performed through the 3D FE simulation in non-steady state and extrusion experimentation. Also, nano-indentation test is employed to estimate the weldability of tubes. Especially, An evaluation of the weldability using the nano-indentation is accomplished as compared with nano-hardness in welded part and in the others. Finally, the pattern of the mandrel defection is investigated according to shapes of the porthole and/or chamber.

  • In this paper, the design variables of the extruded parts involving flat die through model experiment are investigated to overcome some current problems such as bending and twisting and get more improved quality products. Above all, the deformation behavior is analyzed in experiment and investigated flow charactristics inside container. Finally, the straight extruded product is obtained by modified bearing land width on the basis of the exit velocities distribution from bended and twisted products.

  • This paper accomplished the basic research using the hydrostatic extrusion to make the nano-grained bulk material. It was carried out a hot hydrostatic extrusion using the hipped bulk Al-7.5%Mg that was taken from University of California, Davis. in order to investigate the effect of the hot isostatic extrusion. The tensile tests for the hipped bulk Al-7.5%Mg and the extruded one was executed and the results was compared.
