Effect of of Sulfur dioxide gas on Soybean Plant (대두(大豆)에 대(對)한 아황산가스의 영향(影響))

  • A study was carried out to examine the effects of sulfur dioxide gas on soybean plants; at two concentrations(0.2mg/l and 0.5mg/l) and in different fumigation periods, The grain yield of soybeans, sulfur and chlorophyll contents in leaves, and ratios of destroyed leaf were investigated, 1) At the concentration of $SO_2$ 0.5mg/l, a) The yield decrease were 52% and 76.4% at 5 minutes and one houre fumigation period respectively, b) The sulfur contents in leaves were positively correlated with fumigation period and yield decrease, however the water soluble sulfur was superior than the total sulfur in correlation coefficient. 2) At the concentration of $SO_2$ 0.2mg/l; a) The most severe destruction of leaves were observed at noon exposure (10:00-11:00 O'clock) and no visible damage was observed at night exposure (22:00-23:00) b) The sulfur contents in leaves and stems were the highest at noon exposure and the lowest at evening exposure (18:00-19:00 O'clock) chlorophyll contents were the highest at night exposure but, the lowest at noon exposure, c) The ratio of destroyed leaf was positively correlated with the sulfur content of leaves, but negatively correlated with chlorophyll contents. d) Absorbance spectra of chlorophyll in the chlorolast were greatly decreased at noon exposure but slightly decreased at night exposure. The decrease of absorbance spectra was mainly at $456m{\mu}$ and $663m{\mu}$.

  • South Korea and North Korea, which have been separated for 70 years, are getting closer and closer. This is very good news for Christians in South Korea who have long wanted to contact with the North Koreans. But it is not easy for Christianity to find contact points for North Koreans who have lived in a society that does not accept religion. First of all, it is necessary to grasp their ideological background, to find similarities with the message of Christianity, to search the Bible for cases of contact with Christianity in similar situations, and to appropriately contextualize them according to the present situation of North and South Korea. The ideological background of the North Korean people is the materialism which is the basic philosophy of communism, and the Juche idea based on materialism. Christianity is negative about the world view that spiritual things are good and material things are evil. Some contact points between Materialistic thinking and Christianity can be found in recognizing the material world as an important element of God's creation. The contact between materialism and Christianity also can be found in dialogue with the Greek philosophy in early Christian era, particularly in the conversation between Paul, who were at the forefront of non-Jewish contact, and Athenians.

Contact dermatitis among male workers exposed to metalworking fluids (금속가공유를 취급하는 남성 근로자의 접촉피부염)

  • In an epidemiological study of metal workers exposed to metalworking fluids (MWF), the prevalence time of Evolution, seasonal occurrence and clinical type of contact dermatitis were investigated. Compostional analysis of MWF with HPLC, dermatological examination and two consecutive questionnaire surveys were conducted. Study population was divided into two groups ; workers contact to cutting oil and workers contact to rust preventive oil. In the analysis of MWF, aliphatic hydrocarbons, having 12-20 carbons, was most common composition(49.04%) of cutting oil otherwise, major contents (90.99%) of the rust preventives oil were aliphatic hydrocarbons composed of 6-9 carbons. The frequency (point prevalence) of contact dermatitis(CD) was 7(12.7 per 100 subjects) in the dermatological examination of 55 workers. As the result of second survey for contact dermatitis, cumulative prevalence of oil working full-time and recent 1 year prevalence in two groups were 28.0, 16.7 and 15.1, 12.5 per 100 subjects. There were no difference in the prevalence of CD by oil, age, oil contact duration. Summer is the most common evolution season in workers exposed to cutting oil, but not in workers exposed to rust preventive oil. Major clinical type of CD was erythematous papules in both groups. It presents the importance of preventive measures that 51.1% suffer from contact dermatitis had medical care at their own expense, and 47.1% of them felt serious about their contact dermatitis. From the fact that 68.6% think cotton gloves protective apparatus, we emphasize the need for health education.

  • 저자(著者)는 구개도(口蓋圖)에 의(依)하여 한국어(韓國語) 마찰음(摩擦音)의 라, 사, 자, 차 사행(四行), 도합(都合) 40음(音)에 대(對)한 정당교합자(正堂咬合者) 오인(五人)과 부정교합자(不正咬合者) 십칠인(十七人)의 발음(發音)을 조사(調査)하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1) 라, 사, 자, 차 사행(四行)의 구개도(口蓋圖)는 V, H 및 C형(型)을 나타낸다. 2) 라행(行)의 구개도(口蓋圖)는 교합군(咬合群)에 관계(關係)없이 주(主)로 H형(型)을 보인다. 라행(行)에 있어서 전치(前齒)와 접촉부위간(接觸部位間)의 거리는 과개교합군(過蓋咬合群)에서 크고, 반대교하군(反對咬合群)에서는 작다. 3) 사행(行)은 주(主)로 V형(型)을 보이며 반대교합군(反對咬合群)에서만 C형(型)이 1/3정도(程度) 나타난다. 반대교합군(反對咬合群)에서의 V형(型)은 그 접촉부위(接觸部位)가 구치부(臼齒部)로 갈수록 두터워 진다. 4) 자, 차행(行)의 구개도(口蓋圖)는 라, 사행(行)에 비(比)하여 변화(變化)가 많다. a) 과개교합군(過蓋咬合群)은 H형(型)이 67%이고 나머지는 C형(型). b) 반대교합군(反對咬合群)은 거의 모두가 C형(型). c) 과개교합군(寡蓋咬合群)에서는 반이상(半以上)이 C형(型), 나머지는 H형(型)이나 간혹 V형(型)도 출현(出現)한다. 5) 구치부(臼齒部)에서의 측방반대교합(側方反對咬合)의 경우는 반대교합(反對咬合)이 있는 반대(反對)쪽의 접촉부위(接觸部位)가 넓다. 6) 과개교합군(寡蓋咬合群)에서의 접촉부위(接觸部位)는 정상군(正常群)이나 과개교합군(過蓋咬合群)에서 보다 일반적(一般的)으로 넓게 나타난다.

  • The temperature monitoring of power cable and cable junction point is the necessary link of the safe and reliable operation of the power system. Many kinds of cables and high voltage junction points are easy to exposed continuous vibrations and momentary impulse in industry field especially power plant industries. This system can predict the overheating of the electric cable interface and the possibility of all kinds of accident, and it helps for eliminating the hazards of electric cable interface and provides the effective guarantee for the safety operation. In order to avoid the faults of the inconvenience of installation and maintenance and the high cost of application, this system used small and contactless IR sensor module. The low power consumption is used in the system. The goal of this study is the low cost and on-line reliable monitoring of power cable and junction point temperature.

  • The effects of light, active oxygen, inorganic $SO_3\;^{-2}\;ion$, $SO_2$ fumigation duration, $SO_2$ concentration on the degradation of photosynthetic pigments in Green perilla (Perilla frutescens Suwon No. 8) fumigated by $SO_2$ were investigated inside a phytotron. The results were as follows: 1. With the increase of the $SO_2$ dosage, visible injury and the degradation of chlorophyll increased. 2. The degradation of chlorophyll b was less than that of chlorophyll a and the carotinoid was more easily degratated than chlorophyll b. 3. The degradation of chlorophyll by $SO_2$ fumigation was induced directly by $SO_2$, itself. 4. Light is necessary to the degradation of chlorophyll. $SO_2$ and $O_2^-$ made in the photolysis process of the water molecule were the major components in the degradation of chlorophyll.

  • In recent days, the foundations of huge structures in general and mega foundations of grand bridges and high-rise buildings in particular are required in geotechnical engineering. This study described 3 dimensional behavior of mat foundation on soft rock based on a numerical study using 3D finite element method. A series of numerical analyses were performed for various soil conditions and mat rigidities under vertical loading. Based on the results of the parametric study, it is shown that the prediction of the settlement, cross sectional tensile stress and bending moments in the mat is overestimated in the analysis without considering interface behavior in comparison with the analysis considering interface between mat and rock mass.

Analysis of occlusal contact and guidance pattern during maximal intercuspal position and protrusive movement (최대교두감합위 및 하악 전방운동 시의 교합접촉 및 교합유도 양상에 관한 분석)

  • Purpose: The importance of occlusal contacts of the natural dentition for durability of teeth, mandibular stabilization, and restorative dentistry is well known. The purpose of this study is to analyze the occlusal contact and guidance pattern of Koreans by evaluating the static occlusion on maximal intercuspal position and measuring dynamic occlusion during straight protrusion. Materials and methods: The occlusal contacts at maximal interincisal position and the occlusal guidance pattern during straight protrusion of 29 subjects were recorded with shimstock foil (Whaledent, Langenau, Germany), T-Scan III (Tekscan Inc., Boston, MA, USA), polyvinylsiloxane registration material (Genie Bite, Sultan Healthcare, Hackensack, NJ, USA) and compared. Occlusal registration procedures were repeated 3 times. The position was fixed to an upright position and the head position was fixed with the Frankfurt horizontal plane paralleling the horizontal plane. Fisher's Exact Test (R-General Public License, ver. 2.14.1) and Pearson's Test were used to assess the significance level of the differences between the experimental groups (${\alpha}=.05$). Results: When using shimstock foil, T-Scan III system, and polyvinylsiloxane registration material, most of the patients showed contact on anterior, premolar, and molar teeth during maximal intercuspal position. Approximately 51% of maximal intercuspal position showed anterior contact using shimstock foil. When examining the protrusive movement using shimstock foil and T-Scan III system, guidance pattern with the central incisor was the most common. Conclusion: During maximal intercuspal position, there were cases in which not all of the teeth showed occlusal contact. During mandibular protrusive movements, one or more maxillary central incisors frequently joined in straight protrusion and the posterior teeth were disoccluded. Therefore, the anterior teeth protect the posterior teeth, and vice versa. Thus, mutually protected occlusion should be applied when reconstructing occlusion.

  • In this study, we peformed ahead a field geological investigation, boring investigation for slope stability analysis in large scale slope failure area. But the geological stratum was not clearly grasped, because ground was very disturbed by large scale Granite intrusion. Furthermore, the existing test data was not pertinent to the large scale Granite intrusion site like here. Therefore, various kind of field test were performed to grasp clearly for geological stratum. And the results of back analysis, various kind tests used to slope stability analysis.

  • 대북 경수로공급협정 체결을 위해 95년 9월 30일부터 고위급과 전문가급 회의를 병행하면서 진행된 협상에서 한반도에너지개발기구(KEDO)와 북한 양측은, 공급범위와 상환조건 이외에 기술수준$\cdot$인도일정$\cdot$직접접촉문제$\cdot$통행로 등 많은 쟁점사안에 대해 서로 팽팽하게 대립하던 끝에, 구랍 15일 경수로사업의 실질적 주도자인 우리측 입장이 대부분 관철된 공급협정 문안에 대해 합의했다. 대북경수로공급협상에 임했던 우리측의 추진원칙 및 지원준비, 추진현황, 협상 타결의 경위, 향후전망 등을 알아본다.
