  • Integumentary system of the polychaete, Perinezeis aibuhitensis was consisted cuticular, epidermal and dermal layers. Excretory pores opened in cuticular layer, which is covered with epicuticular projections. The hemidesmosomes were observed between supporting cell and basal area of cuticular layer. The epidermal layer was consisted supporting cells and unicellular glands. Supporting cell was relatively larger than the other neighbouring cells, and the nucleus had one to two nucleolus. Cytoplasm of the supporting cell had well-developed intracellular organs such as tonofilaments, mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticula, free ribosomes and pigment granules of electron dense. The gland cells were reacted with blue in AB-PAS, and classified into the three types such as ${\alpha},\;{\beta}\;and\;{\gamma}$ from the transmission electron microscopic observation. Type ${\alpha}$ gland cell was ovoid and the cytoplasm had well-developed tonofilaments and membrane bounded secretory granules of $0.8{\~}1.5 {\mu}m$ in diameter. Type ${\beta}$ gland cell had a large vacuole and secretory granules of $0.5{\~}0.8 {\mu}m$, which scattered evenly in the cytoplasm. Type ${\gamma}$ gland cell had well-developed endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi auparatus and secretory granules of $0.2{\~}0.3 {\mu}m$ in diameter. The electron density of this granules was the highest among the granules.

  • Masonry structure is a style of building which has been widely applied as residential facilities of low and middle stories, commercial and public facilities etc. But it is possible to destroy by loss of adhesive strength or sliding when lateral forces, such as earthquake, occurs. This study proposes a seismic retrofit method for masonry structure and its seismic performance is demonstrated by shaking table test. Two specimens per each shaking direction were made, having out-of-plane(weak axis) and in-plane(strong axis) direction. External load of 1 ton was also applied for each specimen during the test, to model the behavior of reinforced masonry wall. As a result of shaking table tests, it is shown that the specimen applying the proposed seismic retrofit method showed acceptable behaviors in both of Korea building design criteria(0.14g) and USA seismic criteria suggested by IBC(0.4g). However, it was observed that stiffness of the specimen toward out-of-plane was rapidly decreasing when seismic excitations over 0.14g were loaded. In comparison of relative displacements, maximum relative displacement of specimens which were accelerated toward out-of-plane with 0.4g at once was 29~31% of maximum relative displacement when specimens were gradually accelerated from 0.08g to 0.4g, while the maximum relative displacement of specimens accelerated toward in-plane has similar value in both cases. Therefore, it is concluded that the wall accelerated toward out-of-plane is more affected by hair crack or possible fatigues caused by seismic excitation.

  • It is important to reduce chair time and procedure in restorative treatment for children. Composite resin is not only used in esthetic restoration of anterior teeth but also posterior teeth by its improved physical property. The 7th generation dentin bonding system was recently developed in order to simplify three steps which is needed to bond composite resin to tooth surface-etchant, primer, adhesive. We compared shear bond strengths of 4, 5, 6, 7th generations dentin bonding systems. The primary dentin was pretreated with 4, 5, 6, 7th generation dentin bonding systems. Then composite resin was cured to the specimen using molds 2.5mm in diameter and 2mm in height. Thermocycling was performed and shear bond strength was finally measured. The results were as follow; 1. The mean values of shear bond strengths in 5th generation dentin bonding system(group 2) were greater than those of 4, 6, 7th generation dentin bonding system(group 1, 3, 4). The differences were statistically significant. 2. The mean values of shear bond strengths in 4th generation dentin bonding system(group 2) were greater than those of 6, 7th generation dentin bonding system(group 1, 3, 4). But, the differences were not statistically significant. 3. Between the mean values of shear bond strengths in 6, 7th generation dentin bonding system(group 3, 4) were similar.

  • A series of test was performed measuring the failure strength and failure mode of Gr/Pi, $[0^{\circ}/45^{\circ}/90^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}]_s$ laminate containing a single pin loaded hole. The finite element method is applied to calculate the stress distribution in the laminates, then the failure load and the failure mode were predicted by means of the characteristic length. 12 different geometric variations were developed to analyze the effects of the ratio of specimen width to hole diameter (W/d) and ratio of edge distance to hole diameter (L/d). X-Ray of NDE methods were utilized in finding out the initial defects, damage and the fracture mechanism, and SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopes) was used the evaluation of the fracture mechanism and crack propagation around hole under tension pin loading. $[0^{\circ}/45^{\circ}/90^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}]_s$ laminate are found to be most sensitive to W/d but not so influenced by L/d. The failure mode and tensile strength predicted by the model show agreement with experiment data for pin loading bolted jointed test except range of $L/d{\leqq}3$.

  • In this study, the static analysis and experiment were carried out on DCB specimens manufactured with aluminum foam in order to investigate the fracture toughness at the adhesive joint of the structure bonded with adhesive. In case of static analysis, all specimen models were shown to have the maximum reaction force when the forced displacement proceeded as much as 5 mm. The maximum reaction forces became 0.25 kN, 0.28 kN and 0.5 kN respectively in cases of specimen thicknesses of 35 mm, 45 mm and 55 mm. Two specimens in case of static experiment were selected to verify these analysis results. The maximum reaction forces were shown when the forced displacement proceeded as much as 5 to 6 mm. The maximum reaction forces became 0.22 kN and 0.3 kN respectively in cases of specimen thicknesses of 35 mm and 45 mm. By comparing the derived results, it could be shown that there was not much difference between the data of analyses and experiments. Therefore, It is inferred that the study data can be secured with only analysis by no extra experimental procedure. It is thought that the mechanical properties at the structure bonded of DCB with the type of mode III can be analyzed systematically.

  • For decades it has been a clinically accepted requirement, in case of salivary contamination, to re-etch conditioned enamel and dentin to proceed with the adhesive technique. Only a few reports have been so far dealing with the potential of one-bottle adhesive system to bond even when applied after salivary contamination and without re-etching. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of the salivary contamination on the shear bond strength of dentin. The results were as follows: 1. In group II, in which saliva contamination and washing occurred before applying of Prime & Bond NT showed high shear bond strength as in control group. In Group III and IV, in which the cured adhesive was contaminated with saliva, showed significantly lower mean bond strength, 2. Relating long resin tags of $70\sim120{\mu}m$ were observed in samples of all groups under SEM. We could observed hybrid layer, resin tag and many lateral branches in every group. And there were no differences between groups.

  • Even though the notion exists that wall paper has got a short durability for interior decoration in terms of paper's nature, it can be the most important element among the modern dosing wall papering because of the variation of the walls visual effect. Wall paper hasn't been preserved well according to the paper's character and official records haven't been done well. So, by studying a case in which a room is maintained well, seeing various commercial samples which were used for an advertisement and reading several booklets it is possible to study historical evidence. In regard to wall paper and Papering. data, the commercial historic nature of the traditional wall papering has been recognized again in order to study the root of the technical and commercial background. In theory, the historic background research of traditional wall paper in the past is said to have established its theoretical system and the development of modern wall papering in the middle of Britain in 18th century. Through the theoretical study of wall papering, the following things have been researched: handling don the method of the traditional wall papering and lining paper, stylization of pattern by using the method of continual linking, subdivision of commercial cost and specialization of wallpaper, handing down the past traditional adhesion method, the origin of string wallpaper, utility of traditional wallpaper and its various abilities, the change from the face to face linking to duplicated linking, the development of DIY products by women's wallpaper selections. Put against other materials, wallpaper remains the most popular and preferable product for managing a wall and provides a decorative, wall dosing technique. This study can estimate the source of wallpapering history in order to create a systemic approach towards the future's wallpaper industry. This is very important data in order to establish a theoretical system of traditional wallpapering according to its historical research about wallpapering skills and its commercial aspect.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of increasing application time of single bottle adhesives (SBA) to microtensile bond strength (MTBS) of dried dentin. To expose the superficial dentin surfaces, human molars were sectioned perpendicular to the long axis of tooth. $32\%$ phosphoric acid gels were applied for 15s and rinsed. The teeth were randomly assigned to 3 groups ; S group (Single Bond), O group (One-Step), P group (Prime & Bond NT). Each group was divided to 3 subgroups (W: dentin wipe with wet gauge and light cured immediately, D, dentin dried for 30s and light cured immediately, 30: dentin dried for 30s and light cured after applying SBA for 30s). Composite resin was built up on the dentin surface and sectioned to obtain 20 specimens with $1mm^2$ cross sectional area and the MTBS was measured. For Single Bond, the mean MTBS of S-W and S-30 group were higher than that of S-D group statistically (P<0.05). For One-Step, the mean MTBS of O-D group was statistically lower than that of O-W group (P<0.05). For Prime & Bond NT, the mean MTBS of P-30 group was statistically lower than that of P-D group (P<0.05).

  • Purpose: This study examined the recovery of the dentin-resin bonding strength, and the difference in the bonding strength after applying pH hemostatic agents at various pH. Materials and methods: Bosmin, Hemodent, Astregedent, and Visine were used as the hemostatic agents in this study. The Bosmin, Hemodent, and Astrigedent hemostatic agents are acidic, and the Visine hemostatic agent is neutral and is used as a decongestant. Ninety human molar teeth were used as the specimen. The teeth were sectioned using a diamond wheel until the dentin was exposed and wet ground by silica paper. The specimens were divided into two groups according to the hemostatic agent used. The specimens were then subdivided into 9 groups according to the application of re etching (R group) or rinsing only (N group). A commonly used resin bonding procedure was used in the control group. The resin bonding procedure was managed dentin using celluloid capsule. In addition, the shear bond strength was measured using an Instron. Results: In general, samples with the applied hemostatic agent, with the exception of Visine, had a slightly weak bond that was similar to the control group. In addition, the rinsing only (N) group had slightly weak bond that was similar to the re etching (R) group. Conclusion: The application of a hemostatic agent on the dentin surface does not affect the shear bond strength after application for a short time. In addition, rinsing only can recover the shear bond strength making other management procedures redundant, particularly re etching.
