In this paper, Proposed bonding mechanism that can separate sole and upper for recycle and reuse of parts. It was confirmed that the PVC film with better physical properties than the existing parts was inserted between the sole and the upper. It was confirmed that the separation of the desired form can be induced. As a result of checking the performance of the proposed mechanism, it is confirmed that intentional separation is possible and the separated sole and upper can be recycled or reused.

In order to determine optimal design length of adhesive joint of a composite pressure vessel with separated dome, stress analysis of joint part according to changes of adhesive length was done. Adhesive length has a range of 50mm to 300mm as design variables. The ratio of adhesive length with any stress gradient to initial non-stressed adhesive length was called "stress gradient length ratio" and selected as objective function. The stress gradient length ratio of joint part with adhesive length of more than 200mm was increased very slowly with increase of adhesive length. It means that adhesive length of about 200mm could be the optimal value to ensure the structural safety of joint part against internal pressure of 2,500 psi.

Strength and failure of adhesively bonded carbon composite-to-aluminum single-lap joints were studied by experiment. The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of various parameters such as curing pressure for bonding, overlap lengths, and adherend thickness on the failure loads and modes of the bonded Joints with dissimilar materials. Experimental results show that the bonding pressure for composite-to-aluminum dissimilar materials should be 4 atm at the lowest. Failure load of the joints increases as the overlap length increases, but the strength (failure load divided by bonded area) decreases rapidly after the overlap width-to-length ratio is greater than 1. When the adherend thickness increase to double, bonding strength increase $12{\sim}55%$. Major failure mode of the joints is the delamination in the composite laminate and the location of delamination goes deeper into the laminates as the bonding pressure and overlap length increase.

Gecko adhesion system consists of beam-shaped seta and spatula which has the role of adhesive pad. In this paper, adhesion mechanism of gecko adhesion system is performed by using adhesive beam contact model. this model has a feature of non-uniform stress profile on the contact surface and adhesion/detachment mechanism is determined by the tensile stress of the contact region. a spatula tip pad has the role of reduction of maximum tensile stress and adhesive force is increased due to this effect. As for a reverse loading case, maximum compressive stress drops by the spatula effect and this cause unsymmetric loading conditions between adhesion and detachment forces. In this study, finite element method is used for the analysis of adhesive beam contact model and the results for spatula effect are presented.
Real defects in composite structures were detected by using laser measuring system. Four types of real defects, that is, impact-induced delamination in a composite laminate, debond in a honeycomb structure, free-edge delamination in a composite laminate and debond in an adhesive joint, were made by applying several types of loads to the specimens. Laser measuring system such as ESPI and shearography technique were used to detect those defects. Thermal loading method, which can easily induce the surface deformation of specimen, was used to detect the defects. Experimental results show that the defects in composite structures could be easily detected by ESPI and shearography technique. Moreover, it shows that ESPI and shearography technique could be usefully applied to the detection of defects in various kinds of composite structures.

In the present paper, the nondestructive test method was suggest to establish the bonding status of a motor case assembly composed of a steel motor case, adiabatic rubber layer and an ablative composite tube with strain data, AE(acoustic emission) signals and UT(ultrasonic test) data. And, finite element analysis was conducted to verify quantitatively the bonding status of motor case assembly under inner pressure loading. The bonding status could be judged whether the bonding status is perfect or contact condition by the data correlation study with AE signals and strain data measured from air pressure test. And, to classify the bonding status of motor case and rubber layer among bonding layers, UT method was also applied. From this study, the bonding status could be classified and detected into fourth types for all bonding layers as follows: (1) initial un-bonding, (2) perfect do-bonding during an air pressure test, (3) partially de-bonding during an air pressure test, and (4) perfect bonding.
The purpose of this study was to compare the tensile bond strength of several self-adhesive resin cements bonded to dentin surfaces with different wet conditions. Three self-adhesive resin cements: Rely-X Unicem (3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN. USA). Embrace Wetbond (Pulpdent. Oakland. MA. USA). Maxcem (Kerr. Orange. CA. USA) were used. Extracted sixty human molars were used. Each self-adhesive resin cement was adhered to the dentin specimens (two rectangular sticks from each molar) in different wet conditions. Tensile bond strength were measured using universal testing machine (EZ Test. Shimadzu corporation. Kyoto. Japan) at a crosshead speed of 1.0mm/min. After the testing. bonding failures of specimens were observed by Operative microscope (OPMI pro, Carl Zeiss. Oberkochen, Germany). T-test was used to evaluate the effect of dentin surface wetness. One-way ANOVA test was used to evaluate the tensile bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements in the same condition. Scheffe's test was used for statistical analyzing at the 95% level of confidence. The result showed that wetness of dentin surface didn't affect tensile bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements and Maxcem showed the lowest tensile bond strength.

Experiments were conducted to investigate the failure and strengths of carbon composite-to-aluminum single-lap bonded joints with 5 different bonding lengths. Joint specimens were fabricated to have secondary bonding of laminate and aluminum with a film type adhesive, FM73m. Tested joints have the bonding strengths between the values of aluminum-to-aluminum joints and composite-to-composite joints. In the joints with bonding length-to-width ratio smaller than 1, the strength decreases as the bonding length increases. In the joints with the ratio larger than 1, however, the strength converges to a constant value. Final failure mode of all the specimens was delamination. To use the maximum strength of the adhesive, it is important to design the joint to have strong resistance to delamination.

This study focuses evaluating the efficiency and performance evaluation of composite type sheet-membrane waterproofing method that utilizes a separation behavior inducement system designed to resolve the chronic problems of disintegration and damage of overlap areas of waterproofing layers. As the result of the test, the tensile strength value was at 13.8N/mm and elongation rate at 587% for the separation behavior inducement type specimen, and the compared specimens had 14.2N/mm for tensile strength and 335% for elongation rate. For the separation behavior adhesion method specimen, when tensile stress or displacement occurred, the Zero-Span tension occurrence did not follow, which resulted in that the bottom sheet layer and the top membrane layer did not simultaneously becoming damaged. When undergoing the top and bottom layers were separated through separation behavior due to lack of flexibility, the bottom layer began to damage at the primary stage, and with the allowed boundary the upper membrane layer began to display flexibility and showed continuous displaced resulting in secondary phase damaging.

Separation of LED packages from PCBs and analysis of the adhesive components was conducted to enhance the recycling potential of LED modules. LED package was separated from PCBs using heat treatment under optimal conditions: temperature of above 250 ℃ and time of 20 minutes. The separation equipment can be established using a hot air injector with controlling the rotational speed of the internal screw. The separation efficiency of each type of substrate (aluminum and glass fiber) was investigated with the thickness range of the adhesive materials (0.25-0.30 and 0.30-0.35 mm). Under the optimal conditions, the efficiency can reach to 97.5% for both types of substrates with adhesive materials of thickness 0.25~0.30mm. Characterization of the residual adhesive substances from the separated LED package and PCB using microwave digestion and ICP analysis showed that the residue contained of 95% of Sn, less than 5% of Cu and Ag.
