A Study on the Development of Integrated Folding Composite Wing Using Optimal Design and Multiple Processes (최적설계 및 다중공정을 적용한 일체형 접이식 복합재료 날개 개발 연구)

  • This research was carried out to develop an integrated folding wing made from carbon composite materials. Design requirements were reviewed and composite wing sizing was conducted using design optimization with commercial software. Three composite manufacturing processes including hot-press, pultrusion, and autoclave were evaluated and the most suitable processes for the integrated wing fabrication were selected, with consideration given to performance and cost. The determined manufacturing process was verified by two design development tests for selecting the design concept. Stiffness and strength of the composite wing were estimated through structural analyses. The test loads were calculated and static tests about design limit load and design ultimate load were performed using both wings. As a result, the evaluation criterions of the tests were satisfied and structural safety was verified through the series of structural analyses and testing.

Autonomous Flight Experiment of a Foldable Quadcopter with Airdrop Launching Function (고공 비행개시가 가능한 접이식 쿼더콥터 자율비행 실험)

  • The experimental results are presented of an autonomous flight algorithm of a foldable quadcopter with airdrop launching functions. A foldable wing structure enabled the quadcopter to be inserted into a rocket container with limited space. The foldable quadcopter was then separated from the rocket in the air. The flight pattern was tracked using a global positioning system (GPS) with various sensors, including an inertial measurement unit (IMU) module until a designated target position was reached. Extensive field tests were conducted through an international rocket competition, ARLISS 2017, which was held in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA. The flight trajectory record of the experiments is stored in electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) embedded in the main control unit. The flight record confirmed that the quadcopter successfully separated from the rocket, executed flight toward the target for a certain length of time, and stably landed on the ground.

  • Helix antennas have been widely applied to satellite TT&C, data communication and GPS receiver systems onboard military, remote sensing and communication purpose satellites. The helix antennas are known to be convenient to control impedance and radiation coverage characteristics with a maximum directivity in satellite z-axis. Waveguide horn is commonly used for radar system that needs ultra-wideband pulse for exploration ground radar and electromagnetic disability measurement etc. It has high efficiency and low reflection characteristics provided by the low-profile shape and suppressed radiation distortion. In this paper, a waveguide horn structure incorporated with helix antenna design is proposed for satellite applications that require ultra-wideband pulse radar and high rate RF data communication link to ground station over wide coverage area. The main design concern is to synthesize variable beam forming pattern based on modified horn-helix combination helicone structure such that multi-mission antenna is implemented applicable for TT&C, earth observation, high data rate transmission. Waveguide horn helps to reduce the overall antenna structure size by introduction fold type reflector connected to the tapered helix antenna. The next generation KOMPSAT satellite currently under development requires high-performance precision attitude control system. We present an initial design of a hybrid hern-helix antenna structure suitable for efficient RF communication module design of multi-purpose satellite systems.

  • 가볍고, 유연성(flexibility)을 갖는 박막(thin film)형 플랙서블 태양전지(flexible solar cell)는 상황에 따른 형태의 변형이 가능하여, 휴대가 간편하고, 기존 혹은 신규 구조물의 지붕(rooftop)등에 설치가 용이하여, 차세대 성장 동력 분야에서 각광받고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 플랙서블 태양전지는 제작시 열에 의한 기판의 변형, 기판 이송시 너울 현상, 대면적 패터닝(patterning) 기술 등 많은 어려움 등으로 웨이퍼나 글라스 기판에 제조된 태양전지 대비 낮은 광전환 효율을 갖는다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 플랙서플 태양전지 성능개선을 위해 3.5세대급 ($450{\times}450cm^2$) 스퍼터(sputter), 금속유기 화학기상장치 (MOCVD), 플라즈마 화학기상장치 (PECVD), 레이저 가공장치 (Laser scriber)를 이용하여 a-Si:H/a-SiGe:H 이중접합(tandem)을 갖는 태양전지를 제작하였고, 광 변환효율 특성을 평가하였다. 전도도(conductivity), 라만(Raman)분광 및 UV/Visible 분광 분석을 통하여 박막의 전기적, 구조적, 광학적 물성을 평가하여 단위박막의 물성을 최적화 했다. 또한 제작된 태양전지는 쏠라 시뮬레이터 (Solar Simulator)를 이용하여 성능 평가를 수행하였고, 상/하부층의 전류 정합 (current matching)을 위해 외부양자효율 (external quantum efficiency) 분석을 수행하였다. 제작된 이중접합 접이식 태양전지로 소면적($0.25cm^2$)에서 8.7%, 대면적($360cm^2$ 이상) 8.0% 이상의 효율을 확보하였으며, 성능 개선을 위해 대면적 패턴 기술 향상 및 공정 기술 개선을 수행 중이다.

Folding Analysis of Paper Structure and Estimation of Optimal Collision Conditions for Reversal (종이구조물의 접기해석과 반전을 위한 최적충돌조건의 산정)

  • This paper presents a model simulating the folding process and collision dynamics of "ddakji", a traditional Korean game played using paper tiles (which are also referred to as ddakji). The model uses two A4 sheets as the base materials for ddakji. The folding process involves a series of boundary conditions that transform the wing part of the paper structure into a twisted configuration. A rigid plate boundary condition is also adopted for squeezing, establishing the shape and stress state of the game-ready ddakji through dynamic relaxation analysis. The gaming process analysis involves a forced displacement of the striking ddakji to a predetermined collision position. Collision analysis then follows at a given speed, with the objective of overturning the struck ddakji--a winning condition. A genetic algorithm-based optimization analysis identifies the optimal collision conditions that result in the overturning of the struck ddakji. For efficiency, the collision analysis is divided into two stages, with the second stage carried out only if the first stage predicts a possible overturn. The fitness function for the genetic algorithm during the first stage is the direction cosine of the struck ddakji, whereas in the second stage, it is the inverse of the speed, thus targeting the lowest overall collision speed. Consequently, this analysis provides optimal collision conditions for various compression thicknesses.

  • 경제발전이 가속화 되고 인간의 삶의 질이 향상되면서 차량보유가 증가함에 따라, 유아용 카시트의 사용이 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 또한 주 5일제 확대 및 가정을 중요시 하는 사회적 문화의 변화에 따라 유아와의 이동이 편리한 유모차의 사용이 증대되고 있다. 이와 같이 이동 편의성을 고려한 유모차의 사용이 증대되고 있다. 기존의 유모차는 세로로 접어지는 접철식이 대부분으로 접어서 이동시와 차량에 보관할 때와 프레임이 무거운 경우 여성이나 고령자가 사용 시 많은 힘을 필요로 하므로 불편함을 호소하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사용자가 불편함을 느끼는 중량문제와 이동시 편의성 고려를 위한 접이방식을 개선하는 방안을 연구 하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 유모차의 프레임의 경량화 설계방안 및 폴딩 접이구조에 대한 연구를 수행 하였다.

A Study on Folding Furniture through the Structure of Hinges (경첩구조를 이용한 접이식 가구에 관한 연구)

  • For opening and shutting function, door has some hardware such as hinges and the locks. The folding mechanism of hinges represent mobility, and the lock means stability. The opening and shutting door-the mobility-could be interpreted the movement from flat state to three-dimensional structure. The folding mechanism also would be understood variable feature to the space. This study focus on the Folding Furniture which adapted the good point of hinges to make efficient use of the space. The folding furniture presented in this study has not only artistic meaning which expand and apply structural function of hinges, but also flexible reanalysis on the environment and the space which change with social, economic and cultural trend.

A study on folding chairs' structure (접이식 의자의 구조 연구)

  • The folding chairs are one of the most necessary furniture for satisfying the moderns' wants which is utilized for limited space rationally. These folding chairs are variously used in interior spaces such as offices, dining areas, and resting areas. They are very easy to move around, so that quiet useful in out door areas, too. Moreover, they play an important role in public spaces as supplementary furniture. The folding chairs have one or several axes, and they are classified according to type of axes like below. 1. Method of divide seating board into 2 and fold, 2. Method of folds seating board and lay on bottom of backboard, 3. Method of fold back board and lay on top of seating board, 4. Method of fold into contact with left and right, 5. Method of gathering legs into one and fold. The folding chairs have to be easy to operate, firm and safe, light for moving around easily, designed for able to change units whenever they have damaged. Change of residential spaces according to the trend towards the nuclear family maximized necessity of limited spaces' use. Therefore, this study provides insights for development of new methods' of folding chairs.

Gender Classification of Human Behaviors Using Structure Adaptive Self-organizing Map (구조적응 자기구성 지도를 이용한 인간 행동의 성별 분류)

  • 본 논문에서는 구조적응 자기구성 지도 모델을 사용하여 인간 행동의 성별을 분류하는 인식기를 제안하였다. 26명의 사람이 '화난 상태' 혹은 '보통 상태'의 두가지 정서 하에서 '문 두드리기', '손 흔들기', '물건 들어올리기'의 세가지 동작을 수행하는 동안, 행위자 관절점의 속도나 위치 정보로부터 성별을 분류하였다. 또한 SASOM의 성능 비교 분석을 위하여 전통적인 SOM, 다층 퍼셉트론과 거의 두 가지 결합 모델, SASOM와 의사결정트리 결합 모델, 단일 의사 결정트리, $textsc{k}$-최근접 이웃 등의 인식기를 구현하여 성능을 비교분석 하였다. 실험 결과 SASOM 분류기가 가장 높은 이식률을 보였으며 분류기로서 유용함을 알 수 있었다.

Fine Structural Analysis of the Venom Apparatus in the Spider Araneus ventricosus (산왕거미 (Araneus ventricosus) 독 생성장치의 미세구조 분석)

  • The culticular substructure of the venom apparatus in the orb-web spider Araneus ventricosus are studied with scanning electron microscopy. The apparatus is composed of chelicera and paired venom glands in the cephalothorax. Each chelicera consists of a basal segment and a movable fang that articulates with each other. The chelicera of this spider is labidognathous form that moves at right angles to the body axis, and has two segments similar to that of a folding jackknife. Each cylindrical fang has a specialized hinge joint which articulate with the cheliceral groove which contains numerous small protrusions. In addition, each side of cheliceral groove is covered with a total of 7 cuticular teeth in two rows which composed of 4 promarginal and 3 retromarginal teeth. It has been also observed that a single venom pore is always located toward the direction of retromarginal teeth, and surface cuticular pits are distributed on the cuticular depressive area of cheliceral groove.
