Accessibility Changes in the Metropolitan Seoul Subway System: Time-distance Algorithms based on the T-card Big Data and an Accessibility Measurement Model for Un-fixed Transportation Networks (수도권 광역철도망 확충에 따른 서울 대도시권 접근도 변화: 교통카드 빅데이터를 이용한 시간거리 산출 알고리즘 및 비고정성 교통망 접근도 산출 모형의 개발과 적용)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in the accessibility of the Metropolitan Seoul Transit systems since 2000, in which many new subway lines have been constructed as well as other urban transit lines have been connected to the systems. We suggest an accessibility measure model for Un-fixed Transportation Networks. In order to measure the nodal accessibility based on the mobility, we apply path-distance, physical-distance, and time-distance as the distance impedance measurement. Specifically, we develop time-distance algorithms to measure the time-distance between each pairs of transit stations based on the T-card transaction databases. We apply the model to the Metropolitan Seoul Transit systems in two time points(2005 and 2011). We examine the results in terms of three distance accessibility measures. Time-distance accessibility explains better the urban land use patterns in the Metropolitan Seoul area than the other two. We visualize the spatial patterns of time-distance accessibility by applying GIS, and analyze the spatial structures of accessibility in the Metrropolitan Seoul area between two time points.

  • 실제 공간에서 네트워크를 통해 지역적으로 산재해 있는 통신 노드들에 관한 최단거리 문제 등을 위시한 각종 지리적 요소를 지니고 있는 문제들을 다루는 것은 복잡할 뿐만 아니라, 환경 및 상태 의존적이라 용이하지 않다고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크를 통해 존재하는 실제 공간상에서의 지리적 성격의 문제를 특정 공간상의 문제로 매핑하여, 형식화(formalization)함으로써, 그 공간상에서의 수학적 문제로 변환하여 접근할 수 있는 효율적이고 간단한 방법을 제안한다. 그리하여 인터넷상에서의 2 노드 간의 최단 거리 문제를 위한 접근으로서, 본 논문에서 제안된 공간상에서의 두 노드 간의 수학적 거리를 정의하여 정형화된 수학적 최단거리를 구하도록 한다.

A Method of Measuring Accessibility for Community Infrastructure Planning (생활인프라 공급계획을 위한 접근성 평가 방법)

  • Recently, interest and financial investment in community infrastructure have been growing. Accordingly, Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport suggested a standard for community infrastructure planning. The standard was based on time distance which represents citizens' accessibility to infrastructure facilities. This paper presents a method to use the navigation application programming interface (API) to calculate travel time. Buffer analysis using Euclidean distance has been widely used so far to evaluate accessibility. However, this method has limitation in that it does not reflect situations in the real world such as crosswalks and slope ways. The infrastructure accessibility indices of local towns in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon were computed based on the time obtained by navigation API. Also, Yeonsu-gu was spatially analyzed to reveal the resident units that are marginalized from community infrastructure facilities. Using navigation API enables to compute realistic accessibility indices and to find unbenefitted residential areas. The method presented in this paper can help community infrastructure planners for their facility spatial plan and budget distribution.

Development of Integrated Accessibility Measurement Algorithm for the Seoul Metropolitan Public Transportation System (서울 대도시권 대중교통체계의 통합 시간거리 접근성 산출 알고리즘 개발)

  • This study proposes an integrated accessibility measurement algorithm, which is applied to the Seoul Metropolitan public transportation system consisting of bus and subway networks, and analyzes the result. We construct a public transportation network graph linking bus-subway networks and take the time distance as the link weight in the graph. We develop a time-distance algorithm to measure the time distance between each pair of transit stations based on the T-card transaction database. The average travel time between nodes has been computed via the shortest-path algorithm applied to the time-distance matrix, which is obtained from the average speed of each transit route in the T-card transaction database. Here the walking time between nodes is also taken into account if walking is involved. The integrated time-distance accessibility of each node in the Seoul Metropolitan public transportation system has been computed from the T-card data of 2013. We make a comparison between the results and those of the bus system and of the subway system, and analyze the spatial patterns. This study is the first attempt to measure the integrated time-distance accessibility for the Seoul Metropolitan public transportation system consisting of 16,277 nodes with 600 bus routes and 16 subway lines.

Measures of Spatial Accessibility to Emergence Medical Services with a Modified Three-Step Floating Catchment Area Model : A Case Study of the Chungnam Province (수정 3SFCA 모형을 활용한 응급의료서비스 접근성 분석: 충청남도를 사례로)

  • This paper presents an enhancement of the two-step floating catchment area (2SFCA) method for measuring spatial accessibility between three age groups, addressing the problem of uniform access within the catchment by applying multiple impedance function to account for distance decay and by applying weights to different age groups to account for medical service preference. The enhancement is provided to be another special care of the gravity model. When applying this modified three-step floating catchment area to measure the spatial access to emergency medical services in a study area, Chungnam province in South Korea, we find that it reveals the variation of spatial accessibility patterns between cities and rural areas and delineates more spatially explicit medical service shortage areas in southern Chungnam areas, especially remoted local rural areas. Finally, this method may be used to help the health and medical service divisions and the state departments improve designation of medical shortage areas. From the discussions, it is easy to implement in planning spatial policies of medical service and straightforward to be used as a basic, but core element for health and medical strategies in the province.

혈관내벽에 홀뮴-166 방사선 분할 조사시 흡수선량 분포

  • 경피적관상동맥성형술(CPTCA)이나 스텐트삽입술 후에 발생하는 재협착을 방지하기 위한 방사선을 조사하는 방법 중에 베타 입자를 방출하는 액체 선원을 catheter풍선 내에 넣어 일정 시간 방사선 조사 시키는 방법이 있다. 조사시킬 혈관의 길이가 길어 한번의 방사선 조사가 어려울 경우 영역을 분할하여 두 번에 나누어 조사할 경우가 있다. 조사영역의 겹치는 부근의 흡수선량이 고선량이나 저선량이 되는가를 알기 위하여 두 풍선간의 접근 거리에 따른 혈관내벽의 흡수선량 분포를 알아보았다. 풍선내의 액체 선원은 Ho-l66을 이용하였고 Ho-l66의 물리적 반감기는 26.8시간이고 최대에너지 1.85 MeV, 평균에너지 0.69 MeV와 최대에너지 1.77 MeV, 평균에너지 0.65 MeV를 갖는 베타 입자를 방출한다. Ho-l66 의 방사선 흡수선량을 측정하기 위하여 GafChromic 필름(Nuclear Associates, Carle Place, NY, USA)을 이용하였고, 방사선이 조사된 필름의 optical density는 videodensitometer(Wellhofer, Schwarzen-bruck, Germany)를 이용하여 값을 읽었다. Catheter 풍선은 직경이 3 mm 이고 길이가 20 mm인 것을 이용하였다. 혈관 내벽의 최대 흡수선량을 표준화하여 겹치는 부분의 흡수선량 분포를 접근 거리에 따라 구하였다. 또한 몬테카를로 시abf레이션으로 확인하였다. 두 풍선의 겹치는 부근의 선량 분포는 풍선 중앙에서 중앙사이의 거리가 21 mm 일 때 중앙에서 20% 증가하였고, 거리가 22 mm일 때와 23 mm일 때 각각 10%와 40%의 감소를 보였다. 풍선 도자의 풍선 안에 베타입자 방출 액체 선원을 넣어 혈관내벽에 방사선 조사하는 방법은 비정거리가 짧아 혈관 내벽 부근에만 방사선을 조사시키고 그 외 중요 장기에는 영향을 덜 미치는 장점이 있다. 그러나 혈관 내벽 표면으로 부터의 거리에 따라 흡수선량이 급격히 떨어지는 분포를 이루기 때문에 두 개의 풍선이 겹치는 부근의 흡수선량은 아주 작은 접근 거리에서도 급격한 변화를 보였다. 따라서 시술 중에 겹치는 부분을 아주 적게 분할하여 정확하게 차례차례로 조사시키기 위해서는 신중한 거리 조정을 하여야 한다.

Forward Vehicle Movement Estimation Algorithm (전방 차량 움직임 추정 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a forward vehicle movement estimation algorithm for the image-based forward collision warning. The road region in the acquired image is designated as a region of interest (ROI) and a distance look up table (LUT) is made in advance. The distance LUT shows horizontal and vertical real distances from a reference pixel as a test vehicle position to any pixel as a position of a vehicle on the ROI. The proposed algorithm detects vehicles in the ROI, assigns labels to them, and saves their distance information using the distance LUT. And then the proposed algorithm estimates the vehicle movements such as approach distance, side-approaching and front-approaching velocities using distance changes between frames. In forward vehicle movement estimation test using road driving videos, the proposed algorithm makes the valid estimation of average 98.7%, 95.9%, 94.3% in the vehicle movements, respectively.

Time-distance Accessibility Computation of Seoul Bus System based on the T-card Transaction Big Databases (교통카드 빅데이터 기반의 서울 버스 교통망 시간거리 접근성 산출)

  • This study proposes the methodology for measuring the time-distance accessibility on the Seoul bus system based on the T-card transaction databases and analyzes the results. T-card transaction databases contain the time/space information of each passenger's locations and times of the departure, transfers, and destination. We introduce the bus network graph and develop the algorithms for time-distance accessibility measurement. We account the average speed based on each passenger's get-in and getoff information in the T-card data as well as the average transfer time from the trip chain transactions. Employing the modified Floyd APSP algorithm, the shortest time distance between each pair of bus stops has been accounted. The graph-theoretic nodal accessibility has been given by the sum of the inverse time distance to all other nodes on the network. The results and spatial patterns are analyzed. This study is the first attempt to measure the time-distance accessibility for such a large transport network as the Seoul bus system consists of 34,934 bus stops on the 600 bus routes, and each bus route can have different properties in terms of speed limit, number of lanes, and traffic signal systems, and thus has great significance in the accessibility measurement studies.

  • 원격 제어 모니터링 시스템을 위한 임베디드 리눅스 시스템의 다중 채널 직렬 장치를 설계하였다. 제안된 장치는 다중 채널 직렬 장치의 효과적인 처리를 위한 내부에 FIFO, Sate Machine, 인터럽트를 구성하고 있으며 임베디드 리눅스에서 효과적인 디바이스 프로그램을 가능하게 한다. 다중 채널의 직렬 장치의 기존의 접근 방식은 개별 직렬 장치를 일일이 접근하고 있으나 본 장치에서는 다중 채널의 직렬 장치를 한 개의 직렬 장치로 간주하여 접근하는 것과 같은 효과를 볼 수 있다. 본 장치는 다중 채널 직렬 입출력 구동에 효율적으로 작용하며 기존의 다중 채널 직렬 장치 보다 접근 속도가 빠르다. 본 장치는 수질 측정과 같은 센서들 사이의 거리가 멀거나 센서와 모니터링 시스템의 사이의 거리가 먼 원격 제어 모니터링에 효과적이다.
