Optimization of Optical Structure of Lightguide Panel for Uniformity Improvement of Edge-lit Backlight (엣지형 LED 백라이트의 균일도 향상을 위한 도광판의 광구조 최적화)

  • Optical simulation methods were applied to the edge-lit LED backlight for LCD TV applications in order to optimize the optical structure of the light guide plate(LGP), and thus to improve the uniformity properties by removing the bright spots caused by LED's. The edge-lit LED backlight consisted of three white LED's with a lamp cover, a light guide plate, and a reflection film. When there was no pattern on the entrance side surface of the LGP, the illuminance uniformity was sensitively dependent on the distance d between the LED and the entrance surface. The illuminance uniformity increased with d but its increasing rate slowed down when d was beyond ~ 1.5 mm. When micro-patterns such as a lenticular lens array (LLA) or a serration pattern were formed on the entrance surface, the illuminance uniformity was improved substantially even for the case of very small d. At the same simulation condition, the lightguide with serration pattern showed a better uniformity than that with LLA pattern. Additional improvement could be achieved by changing the refractive index of the micro-patterns. These results suggest that using micro-patterns is a very effective way to reduce the bright spots due to their refracting function for the concentrated incident rays onto the LGP.

In vitro Measurement of the Mechanical Properties of Resin Infiltrant: Viscosity, Penetration Pattern, Surface Roughness, Microhardness (초기 법랑질 우식 병소에 대한 Resin infiltrant의 점도, 침투 양상, 표면 조도 및 미세경도)

  • In this study, we observed the penetration of the resin infiltrant into natural initial caries by SEM and CLSM, evaluated the pH and viscosity of resin infiltrant and several adhesives(All-bond 2, Scotchbond Multi-purpose, Clearfil SE bond), and measured the surface roughness and the microhardness on permanent teeth before and after applied resin infiltrant into initial enamel caries. The viscosity(Pa.s) was observed for resin infiltrant($0.173{\pm}0.012$), All-bond 2($0.754{\pm}0.030$), Scotchbond Multi-purpose($1.46{\pm}0.137$), and Clearfil SE bond($1.28{\pm}0.125$). The pH was measured for resin infiltrant (4.7), All-bond 2(7.5), Scotchbond Multi-purpose(8.2), and Clearfil SE bond(4.67). An application procedure of resin infiltrant increased the surface roughness and the microhardness insignificantly(p>0.05), when compared to non-applied specimens.

Analysis of the vegetation effects on the flow in Chopyeong Island of the Imjin River using a HEC-RAS 2D model (HEC-RAS 2D 모형을 이용한 임진강 초평도 식생이 흐름에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • River vegetation has important functions such as providing a habitat for the river ecosystem and physical stability of the river bank. It also has adverse effects such as aggravating flood damages due to the increase in roughness coefficient and drag forces. River vegetation management is very important in finding a balance between flood and ecological management. There are still many uncertainties about the effect of vegetation on rivers. In this study, in order to analyze the effect of vegetated flow, the flow patterns according to the vegetation roughness are analyzed through a two-dimensional unsteady flow model for Chopyeong island of the Imjin River. According to the results of the 2D flow analysis using the HEC-RAS 2D model, the velocity distribution in the bend of the Imjin River was greatly affected by the vegetation roughness of Chopyeong Island. The formation of the main flow outside the bend of Chopyeong Island during flooding is presumed due to the influence of tree and grass on Chopyeong Island. If tree are distributed throughout Chopyeong Island, the velocity outside the bend is expected to be higher. River vegetation causes the effect of raising the water level, and could cause a change in the velocity distribution.

  • 한강과 평창강이 합류하는 지점에 위치한 영월지역은 지류인 평창강의 영향으로 역류 또는 지체가 발생할 가능성이 높은 홍수에 취약한 조건을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 유역면적 차이가 크지 않은 평창강$(1,773km^2)$과 합류점 상류의 한강$(2,448km^2)$에서 유입되는 유량에 의한 영월지역의 홍수위 영향을 분석하였다. 비교적 충분한 실측수위자료에 비하여 실측유량자료의 부족으로 완전한 동역학적 모형을 이용한 조도계수 보정을 수행하였다. 보정된 모형을 이용하여 다양한 본류 및 지류의 유입량 조건에서 영월지점에 발생 가능한 수위-유량 관계곡선의 변화를 살펴보고, 지류 유입에 따른 홍수위의 영향범위를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 영월지역에서는 지류유입량에 따라 매우 다른 수위-유량관계곡선들이 작성되었고, 영월지역은 평창강의 유입으로 인하여 동일한 유량에서 약 4.0m정도 수위차이가 발생하였으며, 지류 유입으로 인한 홍수위 변화는 합류점 상류 약 8km까지 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

A study on the effects of Friction loss of CPVC pipe according to Roughness coefficient in a sprinkler system (스프링클러 시스템에서 조도계수에 따른 CPVC 배관 마찰손실 영향의 연구)

  • The pipe material is selected according to the physical and chemical properties of the fluid flowing within it. Because the fluid used in fire extinguish systems is water, the various foreign substances dissolved in it cause scale to form on the pipe wall and accelerate the corrosion and aging of the pipe itself. This results in an increase in the friction loss and eventually degrades the efficiency of the pump. The use of CPVC (Chlorinated Poly-Vinyl Chloride) pipes was confirmed to reduce the friction loss compared to conventional steel pipes in the design and construction stages. The friction loss was found to be 76.64MPa with a C-value of 120 for the steel pipe and 50.72 MPa with a C-value of 150 for the CPVC pipe in an actual apartment construction environment. It was confirmed that the friction loss was improved by about 34% when using the CPVC pipe. When the steel and CPVC pipes were employed in the construction, the construction costs were 1,585,158 and 931,842 won, respectively. Therefore, it was shown that the construction cost was reduced by about 41%. We investigated the safety of the fire extinguishing system and the improvement in the economic performance due to the reduction in the total installed capacity by studying practical applications in the field.

  • 강우로 인한 급경사면의 흐름 해석은 지배방정식인 연속방정식과 운동량 방정식에 의해 수치적으로 해석된다. 이에대한 해석 방법에는 수문학적인 방법과 수리학적인 방법이 있는데, 본 연구에서는 세인트 베난트 방정식을 초기 및 경계조건에 맞게 푸는 수리학적인 방법을 이용하였고, 일반적인 완경사면에서 그 영향이 작아 무시되었던 경사의 영향을 고려한다. 수치해석 과정은 지배방정식에 무차원 매개변수를 도입하여 6점 음해법을 이용하여 해석하였다. 수치실험은 마닝(Manning)의 조도계수 n을 변화시키면서, 각각 검사에서 강우에 의한 평형상태에 도달한 이후의 수심과 유량, kinematic flow 수, 후르드 수, 평형상태 도달시간등 변수 상호간의 관계를 고찰하였다.

Lightscape를 사용한 에니메이션 제작

  • 최근 야간 경관조명의 설치가 늘어나면서 조명 시뮬레이션에 Lightscape를 적용하는 사례가 증가하고 있는 추세이다. Lightscape는 현재 조명 시뮬레이션에 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 소프트웨어로서 조명설계에 따른 조도와 휘도 분포를 계산할 수 있으며, 에니메이션이 가능하다. 에니메이션은 Radiosity를 사용한 화면은 물론 photorealistic한 고화질의 Raytrace영상이 가능하다. 본 보고서에서는 최근 건축물이나 구조물의 설계입찰시에 조명 시뮬레이션은 물론이고 에니메이션 파일의 제출요구가 증가하고 있는 점을 감안하여 Lightscape의 에니메이션 기능을 Learning Lightscape를 중심으로 설명하고 상세한 설명이 요구되는 곳은 Lightscape User's Guide를 발췌하여 소개한다. 또한, 본문의 내용은 Lightscape을 사용하는 것을 전제로 하고 있으므로 "3. 에니메이션 생성" 부분부터는 컴퓨터에서 직접 실행해 볼것을 추천한다.

Rheological Properties of Traditional kochujang (전통 고추장의 레올로지 특성)

  • 총고형분 함량$(TS:\;50{\sim}57%)$을 달리하여 숙성시킨 고추장의 유동특성, 정적 및 동적점탄특성을 관찰하였다. 고추장의 TS가 증가함에 따라서 점조도 지수(K)와 겉보기 점도$({\eta}_{a.5})$는 증가하였으며 유동성 지수(n)는 1보다 훨씬 낮은 0.24-0.31의 범위를 나타내어 고추장은 shear-thinning 성질을 보여주었다. 고추장의 항복응력 측정에서는 고추장의 TS가 증가함에 따라 Casson 항복응력$({\sigma}_{oc})$은 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 또한 고추장의 액상 매개체인 serum 점도$({\eta}_{se})$는 고추장의 TS와 매우 좋은 상관관계$(R^2=0.97)$를 나타내었다. 고추장의 동적점탄성 실험에서는 주파수$({\omega})$가 증가함에 따라 저장탄성률(G#)와 손실탄성률(G@)은 증가하였으며 양(+) 기울기로 G#수치가 G@수치보다 높게 나타났다. 이는 고추장이 약한 겔과 같은 구조적 특성을 갖고 있으며 또한 shear-thinning 거동을 가지고 있음을 나타낸다. 정적점탄성 실험에서 고추장의 총고형분 함량에 따라서 순간탄성 변형$(J_0)$과 지연탄성변형$(J_1)$은 총고형분 함량이 증가함에 따라서 감소하였으며 점도$({\eta}_N)$와 지연시간 $({\tau}_1)$은 증가하였다. 따라서 고추장은 농도가 증가함에 따라 보다 탄력적이며 안정된 구조를 형성하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Actual Conditions on the Illumination Environment of the Study Rooms in the Youth of an Agriculture Village (농촌 청소년 공부방의 조명환경 실태조사)

  • This study investigated the actual conditions of the illumination environment from agricultural youth study room. The result, average space of the study room was 11.42[$m^2$]. The illuminant uses the fluorescent lamp mainly, Method of using illumination was only general illumination the case which uses 73.8[%]. Method of light distribution was a direct lighting mainly. The house which has a stand illumination was also 45.7[%], The percentage using the stand illumination which was a local illumination was nothing but in 20[%] of the whole subject of investigation, therefore eye work could not effective. The internal illuminance was average 131.82[lx], the desk illuminance was 253.64[lx] which was the minimum permitted limit and poor. Uniformity ratio of illuminance appeared with average 35.61[%]. The satisfaction with 3.93 points to be high for illumination environment, therefore it was thought that the recognition of illumination was very insufficient.

Development of a Precision Management System for Quality Control of Progressive die (프로그레시브 금형의 품질관리를 위한 정도관리 시스템 개발)

  • The surface management of metals was performed with a tool microscope or surface roughness measurement instruments. These methods were not efficient for checking the surface status of the die in the production field. For this reason, an analysis system or measurement system to monitor the wear, defects and surface status as a die ages is required. This study, developed surface analysis software for automatic analysis and standardization of a die or processed products. Software was designed to measure the basic features, such as circles, dots, and lines. The captured images were rendered as three-dimensional representations so that the depth of the grooves on the die and segmental profiles could be estimated. As a result of experimental analysis, the surface roughness was measured with an accuracy more than 93.2%, and the maximum deviation in the surface roughness for the brightness of the lighting was within $3{\mu}m$. The confidence in the device's precision was assured. These results show quality control through efficient surface analysis.
