This investigation aims to examine whether there is currently the proper use of pedestrian malls created in the Land Development Project areas and to come up with some suggestions for the upcoming plan to build them. The Project areas were designated as the subject of a case study to this end and, on the basis of the findings on the pedestrian movement, Stepwise Regression Analysis was performed. These can be summed up as follows. Firstly, the most important factor which had a decisive effect on the activation of pedestrian malls turned out to be the directions of the exits to the buildings adjoining the pedestrian walkways. Hence, careful consideration should be given to the facade of buildings and the obligation to install the exits to the pedestrian malls for the activation of the pedestrian walkways. Secondly, according to the findings, the use of the buildings adjoining the pedestrian malls could be a second-most-important variable. The introduction of the facilities that encourage walking and the location restriction on the facilities(accommodation facilities) that do not encourage walking should be done aggressively. Thirdly, securing the continuity between the pedestrian malls could affect the reinvigoration of the pedestrian malls. To achieve this, the crosswalks should be actively built in the early stage of development.

LDM의 분류와 응용 사례를 다루는데 제한된 지면사정 등으로 아쉬운 점이 많이 남는다. LDM의 개발 및 응용은 OA용, 측정 및 미소이동용 기구로서의 소형에서 부터 선박추진용 초전도기, 레일건 등의 특수용도의 대용량에 이르기까지 매우 다양한 형태로서의 진전이 예상된다. 특히, 선진 외국에서의 이 분야에 대한 지대한 관심과 엄청난 연구개발 상황에 비해 국내의 실정이 너무 미약하다는 생각을 하며 이 분야에 대한 흥미와 연구개발의 노력을 아끼지 않는 연구자가 많이 나와야 겠다.

인터넷 사용인구의 증가와 사용 용도의 다양화로 인해서 초기 웹의 정적이고 단순함은 더 이상 사용자의 욕구를 충족 시킬 수 없었다. 이러한 욕구는 웹 페이지가 동적이며 더욱 다양한 기능을 갖도록 요구하였으며 자바, Active-X Control 등의 기술을 이용한 Executable Content가 등장하게 되었다. 그러나 이것은 내부 정보 유출 및 파일 삭제 등의 컴퓨터자원에 대한 불법적인 접근의 위험성이 증가하고 있다. 이런 보안상의 취약점에 대해 살펴본다.

This study attempted to seek policy directions for development of sustainable urban industrial space through reviewing recent policies and projects of US cities that experienced urban industrial land replacement and industrial suburbanization. The policies and regulations for the urban industrial space preservation include the New York City's Industrial Business Zone, Chicago's Planned Manufacturing District, the no-net-loss framework in San Jose, and the subdivided and the state of the art in zoning systems in Philadelphia and Seattle. These policies and zoning systems have been effective for preventing the conversion of urban industrial lands to other uses, promoting business activities, and creating jobs for urban residents. In addition, the updated and innovative zoning systems allow for a wide variety of urban industrial spaces to meet newly emerging industrial demands. On the other hand, we suggested several policy implications through reviewing the cases of urban regeneration projects in Portland's Willamette Industrial Urban Renewal Area, Atlanta's BeltLine, and Milwaukee's Menomone Valley as follows: 1) updating and reinforcing spatial planning and policies for preservation and revitalization of urban industrial land; 2) considering existing businesses and local workers first; 3) setting up a participatory planning for local workers and residents; 4) preparing policies for brownfield cleanups.

Revitalized alley-type urban commercial streets have recently received a lot of attention as a preferred place for people. The purpose of this study is to present implications in the planning and design methods for the making of alley-type urban commercial street. For that, theoretical review and case analysis were conducted on the street spatial characteristics of 'Jeonridan-gil' and 'Mangmidan-gil' in Busan, about site overview, street spatial composition, building use, streetscape and street furniture. The implications through the study are as follows. (1) Street environment should be created to improve the pedestrian space and environment. (2) The existing main use and the newly introduced use need to be coexisted. (3) The identity of the street must be maintained through adaptive reuse, etc. (4) The voluntary formation of the private sector and the planned making of the public need to be cooperated.
