Map Matching Algorithm for Self-Contained Positioning (자립식 위치측정을 위한 Map Matching 알고리즘)

  • Map Matching is the method for correcting the current position from dead reckoning in Car Navigation System. In this paper, we proposed the new map matching algorithm that can correct the positioning error caused by sensors and digital map data around the cross road area. To do this, first we set the error boundary of the cross road area by combining the relative error of moving distance and the absolute error of road length, second, we find out the starting point of turning within the determined error boundary of the cross point area, third, we compare the turning angle of the car to the angle of each possible road, and the last, we decide the matched road. We used wheel sensor as a speed sensor and used optical fiber gyro as a directional sensor, and assembled the sensors to the notebook computer. We testified our algorithm by driving the Daejeon area-which is a part of south Korea-as a test area. And we proved the efficiency by doing that.

Estimating Location in Real-world of a Observer for Adaptive Parallax Barrier (적응적 패럴랙스 베리어를 위한 사용자 위치 추적 방법)

  • This paper propose how to track the position of the observer to control the viewing zone using an adaptive parallax barrier. The pose is estimated using a Constrained Local Model based on the shape model and Landmark for robust eye-distance measurement in the face pose. Camera's correlation converts distance and horizontal location to centimeter. The pixel pitch of the adaptive parallax barrier is adjusted according to the position of the observer's eyes, and the barrier is moved to adjust the viewing area. This paper propose a method for tracking the observer in the range of 60cm to 490cm, and measure the error, measurable range, and fps according to the resolution of the camera image. As a result, the observer can be measured within the absolute error range of 3.1642cm on average, and it was able to measure about 278cm at 320×240, about 488cm at 640×480, and about 493cm at 1280×960 depending on the resolution of the image.

  • The WiFi fingerprint method for location estimation within the home has the advantage of using the existing infrastructure and estimating absolute coordinates, so many studies are being conducted. Existing studies have mainly focused on the study of localization algorithms, but the improvement of accuracy has reached its limits. However, since a wireless LAN receiver such as a smartphone cannot measure signals smaller than the reception sensitivity of radio signals, the position estimation error varies depending on the method of processing these values. In this paper, we proposed a method to increase the location estimation accuracy by pre-processing the received signal data of the measured wireless LAN router in various ways and applying it to the existing algorithm, and greatly improved accuracy was obtained. In addition, the preprocessed data was applied to the KNN method and the CNN method and the performance was compared.

  • For optimizing railroad designs, setting up shape and specifications of facilities harmonized and coincide with local topography based on absolute location information, correct construction quantity's output and proper land's security etc are key matters, and also clear and advanced surveying standards and technical provision shall become priority so as to satisfy them. Therefore, this study analyzed and researched on surveying standards and technical provision's status in current railroad design's cases, and then attempts to suggest establishment of design surveying standard, procedures, and methods together with its practical scheme.

  • In this paper, a new touch user interface which is based on the hand operations of dragging and diversion is presented. With it, convenience and quickness for inputting of texts as well as searching and selecting of multi-layered menus are improved. The new interface also applies relative coordinate systems which display texts on the touch positions corresponding to the moving of touch location. It accommodates more text codes than those in conventional fixed coordinate systems which allocates texts to fixed location on touch screen. The suggested interface is implemented to IPTV remote control and set-top box to prove its practicality and effectiveness.

  • Recently, domestic energy environment is facing new challenges owing to the depletion of fossil fuel such as oil. Renewable energy resources including solar and wind energy are attracting more interests than ever before. However, solar power system is costly in comparison with the conventional power generation systems and also the energy density is low. Furthermore, large area is required in order to install solar power system. Generally, performance of solar power system is affected by weather conditions and alignment of sun and the solar cell modules. In this study, a new type of sun tracking system for solar power system is proposed. To verify the feasibility of the proposed system, actual implementation of prototype system and experiments are carried out.

  • This study developed a gesture recognition method using Kinect sensor and proposed a fighting action control interface. To extract the pattern features of a gesture, it used a method of extracting them in consideration of a body rate based on the shoulders, rather than of absolute positions. Although the same gesture is made, the positional coordinates of each joint caught by Kinect sensor can be different depending on a length and direction of the arm. Therefore, this study applied principal component analysis in order for gesture modeling and analysis. The method helps to reduce the effects of data errors and bring about dimensional contraction effect. In addition, this study proposed a modified matching algorithm to reduce motion restrictions of gesture recognition system.

Localization Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks using the Acceleration sensor (가속도 센서를 이용한 무선 센서 네트워크하에서의 위치 인식 알고리즘)

  • In an environment where all nodes move, the sensor node receives anchor node's position information within communication radius and modifies the received anchor node's position information by one's traveled distance and direction in saving in one's memory, where if there at least 3, one's position is determined by performing localization through trilateration. The proposed localization mechanisms have been simulated in the Matlab. In an environment where certain distance is maintained and nodes move towards the same direction, the probability for the sensor node to meet at least 3 anchor nodes with absolute coordinates within 1 hub range is remote. Even if the sensor node has estimated its position with at least 3 beacon information, the angle ${\theta}$ error of accelerator and digital compass will continuously apply by the passage of time in enlarging the error tolerance and its estimated position not being relied. Dead reckoning technology is used as a supplementary position tracking navigation technology in places where GPS doesn't operate, where one's position can be estimated by knowing the distance and direction the node has traveled with acceleration sensor and digital compass. The localization algorithm to be explained is a localization technique that uses Dead reckoning where all nodes are loaded with omnidirectional antenna, and assumes that one's traveling distance and direction can be known with accelerator and digital compass. The simulation results show that our scheme performed better than other mechanisms (e.g. MCL, DV-distance).

Dynamic analysis of railway vehicle by using track coordinates (트랙 좌표계를 이용한 철도차량 운동 해석)

  • 6-generalized coordinates of absolute translational displacements and angular displacements measured at Cartesian coordinates system fixed at the ground has been used to describe general dynamic behavior of a rigid body in mechanical systems. However, track coordinates system moving with the centerline of the track can be used to develop dynamic formulations for railway vehicle. It is easy to impose the constraints of track coordinates by the virtue of track coordinates system moving with track centerline. In this analysis, dynamic equations of railway vehicle by using track coordinates system is derived and the simulation results are presented.

  • 경기도 평택시에 위치하고 있는 한미약품(주) 평택공단. 이 공단이 지난 2007년 준공됐을 당시 의약 제약 업계에서는 각별한 관심을 보였었다. 세파플랜트, 바이오플랜트 등 단 두 개의 공장만 들어섰지만 한미약품 자체적으로 '공단'이라고 명명할 만큼 어느 곳과도 비교할 수 없을 정도의 규모로 지어졌기 때문이다. 특히 이곳 세파플랜트는 국내 세파계 항생제의 약 70%까지 공급할 수 있는 전용 공장의 면모를 갖추고 있어 시장에 막대한 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되기도 했다. 여기에 더해 이곳은 지역 안전인들 사이에도 남다른 관심을 받았다. 공장이 설계될 때부터 근로자들의 안전을 최우선 가치로 삼아 재해발생 요소를 최소화했기 때문이다. 아울러 공단이 가동된 직후부터 현재가지 빈틈없는 안전관리를 전개하면서 말 그대로 '안전 사업장'으로 유명세를 타고 있는 것이다. 안전경영을 바탕으로 제약산업을 선도해나가고 있는 한미약품(주) 평택공단을 찾아가 봤다.
