Clinical Study of Vascular Injuries (혈관 손상의 임상적 고찰)

  • Background: Major vascular injuries can jeopardize a patient's life or imperil limb survival. We performed this study to establish an optimal management plan for vascular injuries. Material and Method: We retrospectively reviewed 26 cases of vascular injury that were treated at Pusan National University Hospital from May, 1999 to September, 2004. The age and sex distribution, the locations and causes of vascular injury, the diagnostic tools, the degree of injuries, clinical manifestations, the treatment modality and complications were reviewed. Result: The mean age was 39.5 years (range: $12{\sim}86$) and the male to female ratio was 22 : 4. The injuries were in 6 descending thoracic aortas, 4 femoral arteries, 4 popliteal veins and so on. The causes of injury were iatrogenic in 8 cases, traffic accident in 7, stab injury in 6 and industrial accident in 5. The most commonly used diagnostic tools were CT and angiography. The degrees of arterial injury were pseudoaneurysm in 10 cases, partial severance in 5, complete severance in 3 and thrombosis in 3. The degrees of venous injury were partial severance in 6 cases, complete severance in 2 and arteriovenous fistula in 2. The clinical manifestations were absence of pulse in 8 cases, coldness in 7, chest pain in 6, swelling in 5, bleeding in 5 and so on. The most frequently used type of revascularization was graft interposition in 11 cases. Two arteriovenous fistulae were repaired by endovascular procedure. There was one case of mortality due to multi-organ failure after hemorrhagic shock, There were three major amputations, and two of them were due to delayed diagnosis and treatment. Conclusion: A system for the early diagnosis and treatment is essential for improving limb salvage and patient mortality. As a consequence of the widespread application of endovascular procedures, the incidence of iatrogenic injuries has recently increased. Educating physicians is important for the prevention of iatrogenic injury. Easy communication and cooperation for earlier involvement of a vascular surgeon is also an important factor.

Quantitative Evaluation of Geotextile Void Structures Using Digital Image Analysis (디지털 이미지 분석을 이용한 지오텍스타일 공극 분포의 정량화)

  • This paper presents results from a study undertaken to quantitatively evaluate the geotextile pore sizes using optical image analysis. The evaluation was conducted by observing surfaces of coupons cut from resin-impregnated specimens of geotextile-geomembrane layered under various load conditions. Stereological concepts were applied to collect representative specimens from a series of laboratory tests. The sizes of voids enclosed by filaments were expressed in terms of the largest inscribing opening size (LIOS) distribution. The opening diameter corresponding to the 50% cumulative frequency decreased by about 45mm as the load increased from 10 to 300kPa and recovered to about 90% of its initial state on unloading back to 10kPa. The average void size was reduced by 32 and 16.5% as the geotextile was sheared against a textured geomembrane under normal stresses of 100 and 300kPa, respectively. The results showed how the LIOS distribution varied as a function of normal stress and interface shear displacement against a smooth and a textured geomembrane surfaces.

Color Discrimination Enhancement Gamut Mapping Using Color Distribution Rearrangement (색 분포 재배열을 이용한 색 분별력 향상 색역 사상)

  • When the same image is displayed in many different devices, the reproduced colors are not same due to the differences in the gamut between devices. Therefore, many gamut mapping method were proposed to solve this problem. In this paper, color discrimination enhancement gamut mapping method using color distribution rearrangement is proposed to reduce the unnecessary distortions by compression mapping and to minimize the decrease of color discrimination by clipping method. The proposed method constructs color distribution, the 3-dimension array of input image's colors. if the maximum of color distribution is within the boundary of printer gamut. the colors are mapped to the same colors. Otherwise, out-of-gamut colors are compressed into the printer gamut with minimum distortion. Consequently, the printer output image was highly consistent with the corresponding monitor image and had an enhanced color discrimination in region where high chroma varied linearly.

  • Pyrolysis experiments of HDPE and LDPE were carried out in the stainless steel reactor of internal volume of 40 $cm^3$. Pyrolysis reactions were performed at temperature $410{\sim}460^{\circ}C$ and the pyrolysis products were collected separately as liquid and gas products. The molecular weight distributions(MWDs) and composition of each product were determined by HPLC-GPC and GC analysis. It was represented that the yield and the molecular weight of liquid product were decreased with the increase of reaction temperature and time. The chain-end scission rate parameters, respectively, were determined to be 63.0kcal/mole of HDPE, 45.7kcal/mole of LDPE by the Arrhenius plot.

  • Software failure time presented in the literature exhibit either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing. For data analysis of software reliability model, data scale tools of trend analysis are developed. The methods of trend analysis are arithmetic mean test and Laplace trend test. Trend analysis only offer information of outline content. In this paper, we discuss forecasting failure time case of failure time censoring. The used software failure time data for forecasting failure time is random number of Weibull distribution(shaper parameter 1, scale parameter 0.5), Using this data, we are proposed to ARIMA(AR(1)) and simulation method for forecasting failure time. The practical ARIMA method is presented.

  • The study was explored socket pressure distributions on a trans-femoral amputee with a suction socket in static and dynamic situations. Even when the amputee stood in the anatomically neutral position, significant pressure concentrations were observed in the lateral, medial, and posterior planes of the socket. During free level walking, a significant shifting pattern of pressure concentration areas was observed. High socket pressure was observed in the lateral, medial-anterior and posterior walls during mid-stance or push-off period. Socket pressure measurement will be one of the good tool to determine the optimal socket-limb interface.

  • 이변량 빈도해석은 일반적으로 고정지속기간 강우량에 대해 빈도해석하는 단변량 빈도해석에 비해 지속기간을 확률변수로 이용하여 강우량과 동시에 확률변수로 사용할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 하지만 확률분포형의 차원이 증가하기 때문에 기존 단변량 빈도해석에서 요구되던 표본크기보다 더 많은 표본이 필요하다. 우리나라 강우관측소의 경우 오래된 관측소의 경우에도 기록년수가 60년을 넘지 않아 연최대계열로 확률표본을 작성할 경우 이변량 빈도해석을 수행하기에 부족할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Peaks Over Threshold (POT) 방법을 이용하여 적정 확률표본을 선택하는 연구를 진행하였다. 서울 기상청 지점의 강우자료로부터 최소무강우시간을 이용하여 모든 강우사상을 추출하였으며 각 강우사상의 강우량과 지속기간이 확률변수로 사용되었다. 기존에 알려진 POT 방법들과 Anderson-Darling 적합도 검정을 이용한 절단값 산정방법등을 적용하여 확률표본 개수의 변화에 따른 주변분포형의 적합도 검정과 이변량 확률모형의 적합성을 살펴보았다.

  • The harmonics of synchronous generators increase iron and copper loss, which is the cause of fever. For harmonic reduction, the armature winding method is used as a distribution winding, a short pitch winding. In this paper, we want to improve the waveform of the instrument voltage by reducing the harmonics in a new way to the shape of the permanent magnet. The method cuts both ends of the permanent magnet and adjusts the air gap by increasing and decreasing the area according to the set value. By varying the distribution of magnetic flux density, the resulting electromotive voltage and strain were compared. This compares the shape-changing models of permanent magnets and shows an effective deformation method.

기계적 합금법을 이용한 Ni-W 합금제조

  • MCFC(Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell) Ni anode의 기계적 특성을 개선시키기 위해서 Ni-W복합재료를 기계적 합금법으로 제조하였다. 기계적 합금화한 분말을 XRD, SEM으로 관찰한 후 두께 1mm, 직경 8mm의 원반형으로 성형하였다. 소결은 120$0^{\circ}C$의 수소 분위기내에서 10시간 행하였다. 이렇게 제조한 시편의 절단된 면을 연마하여 SEM 및 EDX로 관찰하였으며 XRD로써 성분분석 하였다. 기계적 합금화 시간이 증가함에 따라 불충격에 의한 결정립 미세화가 이루어졌으며 80시간 기계적 합금시 재료의 규칙적인 결정이 파괴되어 비결정질화 되었다. 기계적합금으로 Ni 기지내에 균일하게 분포된 W은 분산강화효과를 통해 Ni anode의 기계적 특성을 개선시킬 것으로 기대된다.

  • Failure data of systems in many field can be erroneous, which influences the reliability analysis of the systems. The general form of failure data is right censored data with accurate time information. But due to its nature of data collection in the military field, failure time of one-shot weapon systems can have errors which are related to the maintenance period. So this paper suggests a model that can reduce the error by utilizing interval censored data as an alternative to right censored data in weibull distribution.
