Parts obsolescence is a component type, in which raw materials or parts that make up a weapons system, are developed and produced according to demand, but they age due to changes in technology or market conditions. The weapon system equipment currently being used by the military is having difficulty in procurement, maintenance, and operation because of the obsolescence of parts. Parts obsolescence during the life cycle of a weapons system affects not only the combat readiness of the military but also the economic loss of material, parts, and equipment manufacturers and suppliers. On the other hand, advanced technology has reduced the life span of electronic components that make up the weapons system. In addition, because of the nature of the weapons system, the obsolescence of components takes decades from development to disposal, which has a serious adverse effect on equipment readiness and life cycle costs. Therefore, it is necessary to manage systematically the parts obsolescence from development until the disposal of the weapons system equipment. This study examined the system of component control in developed countries to present a proper management plan for local situations and propose development plans for the early settlement of component control.

RAM of elements to support weapon systems is conducted at the initial development phase and standard is suggested to accomplish strategy requirement performance from a design spec. Operational availability is a key point of the military's ability to ensure combat readiness and to win the battle. In the weapon system development phase, operational availability is used as a development standard. The military provides ALDT, operation and standby time, which are elements of operational availability. ALDT is a key element of operational availability that must be maintained for combat readiness, as it depends on the aging of a weapon system, maintenance policies and geographical conditions. Operational Availability to be set at the development phase has many differences from the operational availability that is analyzed in the actual operational phase because ALDT is applied as a simple assumption. In the paper, we analyzed ALDT applying the decision tree method through failure data acquired from initial operation. Through this study, we have devised the optimal ALDT setting method to achieve operational availability about operation when the weapons system is unstable.

Sight Stabilization system is the control system to preserve Line of Sight for the targets though many nonlinear disturbances and vibrations are generated. In this paper, we identified Stabilization system using RLS algorithm, one of the system identification algorithm and found out the modeling of system. Considering nonlinear operational condition this paper proposes two Knowledge-base controllers - Fuzzy controller, Fuzzy PI Gain Scheduling controller, and simulates the performances of proposed controllers compare with Lead PI controller being used in Sight system of NFIV.
During reformation of the world order in the 21st century, the terrorism has been showing up as a new value and rising up as core element of determining human being's quality of lives. The middle east's terrorism is leading the international terrorism and it is originated from the religious ideology which has formed for centuries and struggles for regional influence. This is the conflict aspect coming from the opposition of religious ideologies and cultural dislocations. It concludes as confrontation between the terrorism of Islam fundamentalism and western christianity that America is leading after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. There is little prospect for an improvement of their relationship. The Terrorism supported by government might be eradicated by America's drastic anti-terrorism policy. However, it will be serious and spread all over the world that the terrorist attacks against America and western countries is acted by militant warriors of Islamic fundamentalism, uniting Arab and Islamic peoples' emotions against America. Terrorism is urgent menace to Korea and it is needed to take measures to cope with it considering their religion and people throughly.

Metal ducts for transporting air conditioning and heating inside ships have recently been replaced by cloth ducts that have the advantage of delivering air evenly to the compartments, with excellent noise reduction in major compartments, such as combat command rooms, steering rooms, and sound detector cabins. Since the performance requirements of fabric ducts for vessels are strict, and the entire length of the ducts was imported from Korea, the government wants to create economic effects through localization of fabric ducts. Air permeability and fire prevention performance tests verified the applicability to naval vessels of fabric ducts developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries and HiDact, and performance requirements presented in the POS were verified. As a result of the tests, the fabric ducts met the requirements for air permeability and fireproof performance.
Due to the development of technology related to a weapon system and the info-communication, the battle system of a warship has to manage many kinds of human intervention tactics according to the complicated battlefield environment. Therefore, many kinds of studies about M&S(Modeling & Simulation) have been carried out recently. The previous M&S system based on an agent, however, has simply used non-flexible(or fixed) tactics. In this paper, we propose an agent modeling methodology which has reinforcement learning function for spontaneous(active) reaction and generation evolution learning Function using Genetic Algorithm for more proper reaction for warship battle. We experiment with virtual 1:1 warship combat simulation on the west sea so as to test validity of our proposed methodology. We consequently show the possibility of both reinforcement and evolution learning in a warship battle.

Presented in this paper is a study for construction of a simulation system for the engagement of ground weapon systems. This paper proposes architecture for the simulation system based on agent simulation design methodology. Every entity of the proposed architecture is developed by assembling modularized agent components, and it enhances the reusability and composability of the entity. Consequently, time, costs, and efforts that are required to develop a new simulation system is able to be reduced by the enhancement. In the case of ground engagement simulation, it is very important to reflect environmental effects. Synthetic battlefield of the proposed architecture has environmental data of the battlefield and interacts with entities in the simulation system. The proposed architecture based simulation system can build swiftly various simulation models by the objectives and derive reasonable results from behaviors of entities that include environmental effects. This paper contains the construction of an example system based on the proposed architecture to verify the advantages of the architecture.
Threat Evaluation(TE) which has air intelligence attained by identifying friend or foe evaluates the target's threat degree, so it provides information to Weapon Assignment(WA) step. Most of TE data are passed by sensor measured values, but existing techniques(fuzzy, bayesian network, and so on) have many weaknesses that erroneous linkages and missing data may fall into confusion in decision making. Therefore we need to efficient Threat Evaluation system that can refine various sensor data's linkages and calculate reliable threat values under unpredictable war situations. In this paper, we suggest new threat evaluation system based on information fusion JDL model, and it is principle that combine fuzzy which is favorable to refine ambiguous relationships with bayesian network useful to inference battled situation having insufficient evidence and to use learning algorithm. Finally, the system's performance by getting threat evaluation on an air defense scenario is presented.

It is important to increase the probability that all developed weapon systems can be operated in a steady state at any time. In the case of Integrated Logistics Support, this probability is referred to as operational availability, and the numerical value is quantified during the development process. There are several ways to improve operational availability for successful development of weapon systems. One of the methods is to reduce total corrective maintenance time through Automatic Test Equipment(ATE). Recently, customers in the defense market have become aware of this and demand ways to improve operational availability of weapon systems. Therefore, this paper proposes ways to improve operational availability of weapon systems by changing the method of operating the ATE. The detailed method is to allow field maintenance personnel to carry out field maintenance support onsite. This is an effective way to reduce the total corrective maintenance time of weapon systems by reducing the travel time of field maintenance personnel. The proposed ATE is proved to be able to achieve superior maintenance and operational availability.
Artemisia asiatica Nakai aqua-acupuncture solution (ANAS) was administered once daily for 10 days before the tumor implantation ($1{\times}10^6\;cells$). Body weight, spleen weight and the number of ascitic tumor cells were measured at 6 days after tumor implantation. The change of body weight and the survival rate of mice were observed for 21 days. It was used three biomarkers (quinone reductase, glutathione, glutathione S-transferase) to test chemopreventive potentials of ANAS. ANAS exerted antitumor activity by inhibiting the growth of Ehrlich ascites tumor cells in vivo. Mice given Ehrlich cells and ANAS at $CV_{12}$ and $BL_{18}$ had 57.1% to 49.2% survival after 21 days. Quinone reductase activity and glutathione levels were increased with ANAS. However, glutathione S-transferase level was 1.1-fold with ANAS. These results suggest that ANAS has chemopreventive potential by inducing QR activity and increasing GSH level.
