CD-ROM Development for '8051 Microprocessor' Unit Teaching-Learning in Electronics Circuit Practice Subject of Technical High School (공업계 고등학교 전자 회로 실습교과에서 '8051 마이크로프로세서' 단원의 교수-학습을 위한 CD-ROM 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop CD-ROM so that students can understand 8051 Microprocessor unit easily in electronics circuit practice subject of technical high school. The study gives students, who have difficulties in learning, a chance for self-directed and supplementary learning by suggesting interface process with 8051 Practice Kit. To achieve these purposes, literature survey, collecting textbooks and materials, development of CD-ROM were gradually carried out. Each steps were as follows: Firstly, in literature survey, concepts and characteristics of multimedia and application to class were reviewed. Secondly, text contents on 8051 Microprocessor unit were analyzed, main contents were extracted and graphic, sound, animation were made. It was consisted of eight basic learning subjects, and designed to flow systematically. In this study, we presented a kind of teaching-learning material by developing CD-ROM in 8051 microprocessor unit in electronics circuit practice subject as a central matter. This material will be able to help technical high school students in learning

  • The advancement of wireless technology improves the electronic learning by combining with the mobile function, and promotes the expanded transition to the mobile learning. Basically, the mobile learning provides the usefulness in terms of tile and space to provide learners with the access to the educational contents. However, the small display device and limited memory space of mobile device is limiting the access to the learning contents simply to the text-based transmission. This paper designed and implemented the multimedia mobile learning system that reduces the size of parser by define into MSMIL composed only of needed tag to multimedia contents production in the mobile devices by using the SMIL that supports the multimedia object synchronization reduces the data of multimedia learning data and enhances the transmission efficiency by applying the macro method in creating the contents of learning. The results of implementation indicates that it simplifies the designing language, makes the language learning easy, and saves the CPU resources for the parsing by reducing the size of parser.

Design of Simulated Photovoltaic Power Streetlight for Education using Renewable Energy Utilization and Storage Function (신재생에너지 활용 및 저장기능을 이용한 교육용 모의 태양광발전 가로등 설계)

  • A Photovoltaic power streetlight is a system that uses solar energy to charge a secondary battery and then uses it for night lighting through a lamp, and can be configured as a standalone or grid-connected type by installing an LED streetlight at the load end. The energy generated through the solar cell module can be charged to the secondary battery through the charge/discharge control device, and then the LED street light can be turned on and off by comparing the power generation voltage and the charging voltage according to the monitoring of solar radiation, or by setting a specific time after sunset or sunrise. Based on these contents, this paper designed and manufactured a simulated solar power streetlight for education using new and renewable energy utilization and storage functions. Using these educational equipment, students can 1) understand the flow of energy change using renewable energy including sunlight as electric energy, 2) understand new and renewable energy, and cultivate basic design and manufacturing application power of related products, 3) The use of new and renewable energy through power conversion and strengthening of practical training and analysis through hardware production can be instilled.

  • This study deals with reconfigurable modular robot with respect to the compact and capability of representing the various actions for promoting creativity through education and play. Generally modular robot can be designed as a suitable robot that is transformed to various structure by reconstructing each cells, However, there are only few research on the education and play using those robots in the world and still nothing domestically. Unlike the existing modular robots only having a repeating motion, the proposed modular works by individual module such as sound is produced by sound module, wheel is driven by wheel module, LED module controls the visual expression, power is supplied by battery module, bluetooth module for communication, and dynamic motion realization is possible by using joint module. By manipulating the abilities endowed by individual modules, diversity of creative activities is possible and thus made an easy access for children. This study deals with the design of modular robotic by using the variety of different modules to endowed the learning and playing ability. And the study showed the utility of the operating behavior over the actual production and testing.

  • 최근 ICT 기술의 발전과 콘텐츠 제작 환경의 변화로 가상현실 기술이 급속히 확산되고 있다. 특히 ICT와 하드웨어의 성능 발전으로 현실과 구분되지 않는 콘텐츠 구현이 가능해져 게임과 테마파크 등 엔터테인먼트 분야는 물론, 교육 훈련, 가상치료, 제조, 국방 등 다양한 사업과 융합되어 신사업과 신시장을 창출할 수 있는 미래지향적 산업으로 발전하고 있다. 본고에서는 가상현실 기술의 개념과 특징에 대해 설명하고, 가상현실 기술동향, 가상현실 산업동향에 대해 설명하고, 향후 가상현실의 발전방향에 대해 기술하고자 한다.

Development of an Item Based Learning System Using E-mail (전자우편을 활용한 문항 기반 학습 시스템 개발)

  • This paper proposes an item based learning system using e-mail in order to motivate learners effectively and avoid the bottleneck problem under highly competitive access situations such as the traditional web based learning. The proposed system has th ree features as follows: first, through e-mail, a learner receives test items depending on his/her level, submit an answer sheet, and then identify an assessment with help messages. Secondly, on the web, an instructor easily constructs item database without any other tools and monitors the status of each learner by identifying the learners' record. Finally, an easy-to-use interaction mechanism enhances the inter-activity between learners and instructors, and the usability of Q&A(Question and Answer) service by incorporating e-mail into the web bulletin board.

  • In this paper, we are trying to explain an education method using the studio class where a lecturer can teach the theoretical approach for goals of theme, simulation for the theoretical results by using commercial CAD tools, and experiments for the simulation and design results. In order to apply the education skill using studio class to electrical engineering field efficiently, the theoretical approach, simulation procedure, and experiments should be coincided with each other. In this paper, the design procedure of low pass filter for undergraduate and graduate is chosen as an example of studio class In order to show the validity of the proposed education method. By considering the example, the efficiency of the method will be discussed.

  • In this paper, in order to prepare a classroom model that can effectively operate SW education, this study explored cases of creative educational space construction overseas and conducted a demand survey on elementary and middle school teachers. As a result, in overseas cases, classrooms were constructed in various forms, and furniture in the classrooms were produced in various shapes and sizes, and the cases using advanced equipment were explored. As a result of the survey on the education site, it was found that the most desired installation is a fluid type that can restructure the space by freely moving the facilities according to the teaching method. The results of the analysis are expected to be of great help in rebuilding computer labs or building infrastructure for future SW training.

  • FPGA는 대용량의 게이트를 지원하는 하드웨어를 프로그램 할 수 있는 디바이스이다. ASIC을 위해 설계된 로직은 칩으로 제조되기 전에 검증 과정을 거친다. 이 검증 과정에서 시뮬레이션의 한계를 극복하기 위해 FPGA를 사용한 에뮬레이션 방법을 많이 채택한다. 에뮬레이션 과정에서 ASIC의 동작 속도로 검증하는 것이 바람직하지만 FPGA의 특성상 ASIC과 같은 속도로 동작하기는 쉽지 않은 것이 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 HDL 코딩 방법에 따른 FPGA의 성능 민감도를 실험하였다. 실험 및 평가를 위해 다양한 알고리즘을 가진 가산기를 이용하였고 각 가산기 종류와 비트수에 따라 Verilog-HDL을 이용하여 코딩하였으며 대표적인 FPGA 제조사(Altera와 Xilinx)별, 디바이스별로 동작 속도와 자원 사용량을 측정하였다. 실험 결과 FPGA 제조사별로 다른 경향을 보임을 확인하였다. 성능 면에서는 비트별로 다소 차이는 있지만 Altera 디바이스에서는 Ripple Carry, Carry Lookahead 가산기보다 Prefix 가산기의 성능이 우수하게 나왔다. Xilinx 디바이스에서는 예상과 달리 가산기들 사이의 성능 차이가 크게 나지 않았으며 Ripple Carry, Carry Lookahead 가산기가 Prefix 가산기보다 높은 성능을 보이는 경우도 있었다. 비용 면에서는 디바이스별로 큰 차이가 나지 않았으며 ASIC과 비슷한 성능 민감도를 보였다. 그리고 각 제조사에서 제공하는 IP(Intellectual Property) Core를 사용했을 경우는 대부분의 디바이스에서 우수한 성능을 보여 주었다. TSMC 90nm 공정 기술로 제작한 ASIC과 IP Core를 비교했을 때는 ASIC의 성능이 4배 정도 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

Fabrication of Anti-Moiré Filter Using Multi-Array Needle Coating for LED Screens (다중 배열 니들 코팅을 이용한 LED 스크린용 Anti-Moiré 필터 제작)

  • Using a multi-array needle module developed for coating of high-density cylindrical microlens array (C-MLA), we have fabricated an anti-Moiré filter for LED screens. The Moiré phenomenon appears due to the interference between the array pattern of image sensors in a camera and the non-emission area (grid pattern) of a LED screen. To suppress it, we have employed poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and coated it on a glass substrate in the form of a grid and non-grid (parallel lines). We have rotated the needle module in order to increase the number of C-MLAs. With this scheme, we have fabricated the 150 mm × 150 mm anti-Moiré filters where 836 microlens lines are formed. They show the average width of 255.4 ㎛, the average distance between CMLs of 94.6 ㎛, and C-MLA width non-uniformity of 4.7%. We have shown that the Moiré patterns still appear in the presence of the parallel (non-grid)-type filter, whereas they disappeared completely by the grid-type filter. It is due to the fact that the Moiré patterns are diffused more effectively by the grid-type C-MLA.
