고분자의 변형 및 파괴거동에 관한 연구를 계속하고 있는 포항공대 화학공학과 조길원 교수는 외국 전문학술지(SCI)에 51편을 비롯 국내외 각종 학술지에 1백여편의 논문을 발표하는 등 왕성한 연구활동을 펼치고 있다. 고분자재료의 물리적 성질 및 기계적 성질 전반에 걸쳐 관심을 갖고 연구하고 있는 조교수는 앞으로는 정보전자의 계면 및 접착에 관한 응용연구를 더욱 확대시킬 예정이다.

과학기술분야 전문학술지의 학술논문 투고와 심사처리 전과정에 대한 영문전용 웹기반 시스템을 설계하기 위하여 국내외의 대표적인 사례로 Elsevier Editorial System과 KISTI-ACOMS를 조사하고 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 해양과학기술분야 전문학술지 Ocean Science Journal에 적용할 수 있는 웹기반 논문투고심사시스템이 구현되었다. 웹기반 시스템은 기존의 오프라인 논문심사과정에서 야기되는 복잡한 원고관리, 심사기간의 지연과 원고분실 등의 문제점을 해결할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 e-journal 전자출판의 기반이 자연스럽게 조성되어 효율적이고 신속한 학술정보 유통환경이 구축된다. 이러한 시스템의 개발과 활용은 과학기술분야 전문학술지의 수준제고 및 국제화 과정에 크게 기여할 것이다.

학술지 데이터 베이스 구축에 있어서 가장 주요한 문제점온 기존 문헌의 디지털화이다. 기존 문헌을 디지털화함에 있어서 택할 수 있는 방법은 문서 인식기(OCR)를 통한 자동인식과 수작업을 통해서 컴퓨터로 입력하는 방법이 있다. 전자의 방법은 현재의 한글 문서 인식기술로 볼 때 인식률이 저조하고, 인식기를 통한 자동인식에서 발생된 오류를 수정하는 비용이 수작업으로 입력하는 비용에 비해 더 크다고 판단된다. 따라서 자료의 입력은 수작업으로 하는 것이 효율적이다 학술지 데이터 베이스들 구축하고 이를 서비스하기 위해 서는 입력된 텍스트 데이터를 표준화하여 구조적으로 변환/편집해야 한다. 이는 구조문서 표준이라 할 수 있는 XML의 이용이 필요하다는 말이기도 할 것이다. 또한 디지털화 된 문서를 효율적으로 활용하고 관리하기 위해서는 비쥬얼한 구조문서 저장 관리기가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 디지털화 된 텍스트를 구조적인 XML문서로 변환하여 효과적으로 저장 관리 할 수 있는 저장관리기를 설계하고 개발하였다.

최근 인터넷을 중심으로 한 전자정보 통신의 발달은 종래의 연속간행물 출판과 배포에 새로운 국면을 제공하고 있는데 바로 전자형태의 저널 및 잡지의 출현이다. 특히 디지털도서관의 출현으로 대부분의 학술잡지들을 인쇄본과 함께 전자형태로 출판하는 추세에 있으며, 이러한 추세에 맞추어 각 출판사, 대학, 연구소 및 전운정보센터에서는 학술지를 중심으로 대부분의 자료들을 디지털화하여 온라인으로 제공하고 있다. 본 연구는 주요 도서관들이 이러한 새로운 정보매체, 즉 전자형태의 저널 및 잡지를 수용하는데 있어서 한정된 예산으로 해당 도서관들이 필요로 한 전자저널과 전자잡지를 선별·수집할 때 적용할 수 있는 평가요소를 연구하였다.

Within this thesis, the review and classification for research on Internet trade is mainly presented. It focused on subjects, Internet trade steps and research methodologies. One hundred eighty thesis topics were reviewed and all of this investigation has been completed between 1994 and November 2001. We found that Internet trade strategies are researched 19%, Global Internet law 7% and Contacts custom 5%. However, Internet trade theory, Electronic money, Internet trade dispute researches are founded very small portion on subjects review. Researches about Internet trade are recommended that perform though interdisciplinary research and various studies. Moreover, the research on Internet trade has to be based on the study on offline international trades and theories.

This research presents research trends of records and archives management in korea and future development plan by analyzing the distribution of the thesis of the records and archives management journals in Korea according to subjects, issue periods, journals and researchers. The summary of the research is as follows. First, the core subjects of records and archives management research in Korea have been identified as law, establishment/policy, preservation and electronic records management, and it has been identified that the subject fields have come diverse thanks to the establishment of Public Records Management Act. Second, it has been proved that the productivity of research thesis of records and archives management in Korea increases as time goes by, and, especially, it improved by a big margin during 1997-2001. Third, the subjects of records and archives management are generally comprehensive, although there are differences in the subject fields among the thesis that have been researched.

계원조형예술대학 출판디자인과 이기성 교수(한국전자출판연구회장)가 지난 1월7일부터 11일까지 샌프란시스코에서 열린 국제학술대회에 참석, 자신의 논문 '출판산업에서 신기술의 보급과 발전 (국제경영학회 공모 논문심사에서 우수논문 선정)을 발표했다. 이 교수의 이번 논문은 국제경영학회 학술지에도 게재될 예정이다. 다음은 이 교수가 발표한 내용을 요약 소개한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate research trends of the articles in Math-Educational journals between 1998 and 2006 in a bid to discuss whether the articles evenly dealt with different fields and whether studies on elementary mathematics education were in line with the 7th national curricula. It's basically meant to determine some of the right directions for future research on elementary mathematics education. The articles included in Math-Educational journals during the selected period were analyzed to find out the theme, area, method and subjects of the studies and when the studies were conducted. After checking National Assembly Digital Library by inputting a keyword 'elementary mathematics', 235 articles were found, and a content analysis was carried out, and statistical data on percentage were obtained. The results of this study were as follows: First, there had been steady research efforts about elementary mathematics education, as 20 or 30 studies had been conducted on a yearly basis. Second, as for theme of research, the most common themes were instructional design and method(25.5%), and an analysis of curricula and textbook(15.3%) was the second most dominant theme. Third, regarding the area of study, the most widely investigated area was number and operation (30.0%), followed by character/expression(27.8%), figure (23.9%), regularity/function (8.9%), probability/statistics(5.6%), and measurement (3.9%). Fourth, concerning the method of research, didactical analysis(43.8%) was most prevalent, followed by quantitative research(29.8%), qualitative research(16.6%) and a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches(9.8%). Fifth, as to subjects, many of the studies(21.7%) investigated upper graders. In conclusion, it has to be accomplished the impartial researches for the whole area in order to develop elementary mathematics education and attain the objects of the 7th national curricula.

정보기술과 인터넷의 발전과 함께 학술적 정보 서비스도 서지 정보 위주에서 디지털화를 통해 단순 문자 서비스에서 여러 전자적 형태로 서비스되고 있다. 최근에는 학술정보 서비스의 다양화 및 정보 전달 제고와 이용자의 가독성을 높이기 위해 학술정보 시각화 서비스에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 또한 학술지 정보가 XML로 출판되면서 XML 데이터 가공을 통해 시각화 서비스가 한층 수월하게 되었다. 국내 XML 기반 학술지 원문을 서비스하는 KPubS 사이트에 대한 학술정보 시각화 기법을 적용한 사례 연구를 통해 학술정보 서비스의 다양성 및 품질 제고뿐만 아니라 향후 XML 데이터 기반 시각화 서비스 활성화 및 모델을 제시하고자 한다.

최근 재료공학분야에서는 저유전 충간절연물질에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는데, 한양대 박종완 교수는 이 분야 연구에서 많은 성과를 올리고 있다. 박 교수는 전기전자용 재료의 연구개발에 몸담기 시작하여 근 20년간 재료의 전기전도현상 규명, 반도체공정개발, 전자방출 산화박막의 신소재 개발 등에 몰두해 왔으며 최근 3년간 40여편의 논문을 국제학술지에 발표하는 등 의욕에 넘치는 연구활동을 계속하고 있다.
