현재 B2B 및 B2C 등 다양한 형태의 비즈니스가 진행되고 있으며 여기서 카탈로그 정보는 구매의사를 결정짓는 가장 중요한 요소이다. 그러나 현재 각 기업이 보유하고 있는 웹 카탈로그 정보는 상호 이질적인 구조를 지니고 있으며 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 기존의 데이터베이스 관리 시스템과 연동하여 플랫폼 독립적이고 이질의 데이터을 통합 및 저장, 관리할 수 있는 시스템의 구축이 필요하다. 본 논문은 B2B 사이에 이루어지는 e-Business를 효율적으로 운영하기 위해 Catalog DB Module, Catalog Management Module. Interface Module로 구성된 개선된 통합 E-Catalog 시스템을 개발하여 상거래의 상호 이질적인 카탈로그 정보에 따른 상호 연동성 문제점을 해결하고 전체상품에 대한 View 정보, 실시간 업데이트, 확장성 및 유연성을 제공하고자 한다.

본 논문은 전자상거래의 표준을 재정리하고 전자상거래 표준화 동향을 분석한 것이다. 이를 위하여 현재 전자상거래 기술의 표준화 동향 및 현황을 분석하였다. 그 주요 대상으로는 전자상거래 프레임워크, CALS, 전자문서(EDI), XML, 전자카탈로그 등의 부분이 있다.

The IHO S-100 is a standard on the universal hydorgraphic data model for supporting information services that integrate various data in maritime and provide proper information for safety of vessels. The S-100 is used to develop S-10x product specifications which are standards on guideline for creation and delivery of specific data set in maritime. The product specification for feature-based data such as ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart) data includes a feature catalogue that describes characteristics of features in that feature-based data. The feature catalogue is developed by domain experts with knowledge on data of the target domain. However, it is not feasible to develop a feature catalogue according to the XML schema by manual. In the IHO TSMAD committee meeting, needs of developing technology on building feature catalogue has been discussed. Therefore, we present a feature catalogue builder that is a GUI(Graphic User Interface) system supporting domain experts to build feature catalogues in XML. The feature catalogue builder is developed to connect with the FCD(Feature Concept Dictionary) register in the IHO(International Hydrographic Organization) GI(Geographic Information) registry. Also, it supports domain experts to select proper feature items based on the relationships between register items.

With the rapid growth of the B2B electronic commerce, digital catalogs for expressing product information effectively and exchanging it easily between companies become increasingly important. In this paper, we refer a product expression model to effectively integrate product information, and implement the model using XDK(XML Development Kit), which is given by Oracle 8i. We will first derive an XML DTD reflecting the model. We will then develop a system that stores and retrieves product information on/from Oracle 8i databases, which is written in XML, complying the XML DTD structure. Finally, We will give an experiment on the system.

E-Catalogs are often duplicated in multiple database systems due to various reasons. This causes the problem of assuring ACID properties of global transactions in multi-database management systems. We suggest a log-based synchronization mechanism for a special situation that catalogs can be changed only in one system and the changes spread to other systems. We have defined several conditions that have to be satisfied to assure the synchronization of the information. We show that the information can be kept identical in a delayed manner if synchronization module fulfills the defined conditions. Finally we show that the suggested mechanism is useful by showing a real world application that uses this synchronization mechanism in e-commerce environment.
