Synthesis of Active Filers Using Linear Transformation (선형변환기법을 이용한 능동여파기의 구성에 관한 연구)

  • An efficient method for the desist of active filters from doubly terminated lossless ladder type passive filters is presented. This technique is based on the linear transformation of network variables from the voltage-current domain to a new domain for the active realization of the passive networks. The method developed herein applies the linear transformation to a ladder building block which contains both a shunt and a series reactive arm, resulting in the minimization of the number of operational amplifiers required for the active realization. The validity and efficiency of this method are verified by the design of the 8th-order Chebyshev low-pass filter followed by the measurement of its frequency characteristics which fairly agree with the theoretic ones.

  • To improve the skirt characteristic of the high-temperature superconducting filter, we proposed a structure of cascading two independent hairpin-comb filters with an identical frequency response. Resonators of the cascaded filter are arranged in the shape of a diamond so that it minimizes the cross coupling between the resonators. This structure can be used effectively to improve the skirt characteristic of the filter in limited area of a circular wafer. The simulated skirt characteristic of the 18 pole cascaded filter is more than 40dB/MHz attenuation below and above the passband.

  • Through the use of energy ratio of special bandwidths of basic vowels, recognition of Korean basic spoken digit is performed in logical combination with a zero-crossing rate and an energy parameter. In the experiments for recognition of the digits, the speech signal of spoken digits is filtered by a lowpass filter of which the cutoff frequency is 10KHz, and then sampled at 20KHz of sampling rate, In the speech signal processing, we used four FIR digital filters, and the order of filter lengths is 61, 120, 25, 25respectively. The filters are designed by using Remetz exchange algorithm.[13],[14] As a result, the recognition rate of 92% for the three speakers is obstained.

  • An actual inverter, generally, has frequency dependent property. In this paper, the property is considered as the dependencies of an inverter value (real value) it self and its immittance(imaginary part). And a method is given to obtain the equivalent circuit that has indeal inverter and immittance elements from actual inverters. Using this method, BPF's can be designed more exactly than standard design method without optimizing methods.

  • In this paper, a compact Ultra-Wideband band-pass filter with notched band at 5.8GHz by using LC resonator is proposed. The structure of the proposed band-pass filter is very simple, and the DGS(Defected Ground Structure) is used to get the low-pass filter characteristics and the LC resonator is used to get the notched filter. The proposed band-pass filter can be much smaller than a cascaded filter type. The LC resonator is designed with a radial stub and small stub. As a result of measurement, the insertion loss is less than 0.5dB throughout the pass-band of 2.21GHz~10.92GHz, the return loss is more than 16dB and the maximum variation of group delay is 0.29ns and a notched band is 5.2GHz~6.2GHz.

Design and Fabrication of the 94 GHz Branch-line Bandpass Filter using CPW structure (CPW 구조를 이용한 94 GHz Branch-line 대역통과 여파기의 설계 및 제작)

  • We report the 94 GHz CPW branch-line bandpass filter for planar integrated millimeter-wave circuits. The branch-line coupler operates as a transversal filtering section by connecting the coupling ports to the open load stubs and taking the isolation port as the output node. For design of the 94 GHz branch-line bandpass filter, we built the CPW library and optimized the characteristic impedances and the lengths of the branch-line coupler and the open load stubs. The fabricated 94 GHz bandpass filter exhibits an insertion loss of 2.5 dB with an 11.7 % 3 dB relative bandwidth and the return loss is -18.5 dB at a center frequency of 94 GHz.
