A Study on the Design of Electronic Control Unit for Antilock Brake System (전자제어식 미끄럼 방지 제동장치의 제어기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • ABS(Antilock Brake System) prevents the wheels from "locking" and improve "handling" during braking. Currently, safety and environmental issues are a major concern in the automotive industry. ABS has become the vital brake system. ABS is composed of sensors for wheel speed, a pressure modulator for controlling the brake pressures in the wheel brake cylinders, and an electronic control unit(ECU) which evaluates the signals from the wheel speed sensors and converts these to commands to control the pressure of modulator. In this paper, ECU developed for commercial vehicles is described. Detection of wheel slip, control algorithms of ABS, and diagnosis method of ECU are presented.

  • When the wind speed changes rapidly, the wind turbine is stopped for the safety of the power system and the mechanical system. At that moment, the wind turbine gearbox is damaged and broken due to the contact load of the gearbox. In addition, the problems such as increasing frictional heat and deteriorate of the brake occur, because the power of the blades is transmitted directly to the brakes. This paper proposes a hybrid magnetic gear shape that solves the problem caused by the contact of the mechanical gear, which is the power transmission device of the wind power generation system, and the power cutoff system. The shape of the hybrid magnetic gearsuitable for the wind power generation system is derived through the torque and loss analysis according to the shape of the hybrid magnetic gear by using the two dimensional finite analysis method.

Design of Electric Automatic Manual Wheelchair Driving System (수·전동 휠체어 구동부 시스템 설계)

  • Application of electric wheelchair, sort of wheelchair which is playing important role in transporting patients and old people, has been increasing. In this study, we designed the electric wheelchairs' driving system. Using the multi-step gear, the driving system can get great power, even though the small capacity of motors. First, we designed the multi-step gear, test its bending strength and contact strength, as well as verified its performance. We installed 'B-type electric brake(Multiple plate clutch, Anti-magnetization) in same axle of the driving system, so it is possible to stop under huge torque and small size. Using this driving system of the multi-step gear which we designed, it's possible to improve driving gear efficiency 30% up and create the high-competitive electric wheelchair. And, it is easy to repair and control.

  • The brake-by-wire technology is a new automotive chassis system that allows standard braking operations by electronic components with lighter weights and faster response. The brake-by-wire units such as EMB (Electro-Mechanical Brake) are controlled by electronic sensors and actuators and, thus, the fault diagnosis is essential for implementation. In this study, a model-based fault diagnosis system is developed for the sensors based on the analytical redundancy method. The fault detection algorithm is verified in simulations for various faulty cases. A test bench is built including the EMB unit and the performance of the proposed fault diagnosis system is evaluated through the experiment.

  • Conventionally, 2WS is used for vehicle sleeting, which can only steering front wheel. In case of trying to high speed slalom or emergency through this kind of vehicle equipped 2WS, it may occur much of side slip angle. On the other hand, 4WS makes decreasing of side slip angle, outstandingly, so it is possible to support vehicle movement stable. And conventional ABS and TCS can only possible control the longitudinal movement of braking equipment and drive which can only availab to control of longitudinal direction. There after new braking system ESP was developed, which controls both of longitudinal and lateral, with adding of the function of controlling Active Yaw Moment. On this paper, we show about not only designing of improed braking and steering system through establishing of the integrated control system design of 4WS and ESP but also designing of the system contribute to precautious for advanced vehicle stability problem.
