전자문화지도는 지도를 인터페이스로 문화와 관련된 정보를 디지털화시켜 나타내는 시스템이며 공간데이터와 문화정보의 연계를 통해 다양한 정보를 제공한다. 이는 문화와 관련된 정보를 시 공간데이터와의 조합을 통해 유기적으로 연계된 형태의 정보를 효율적으로 검색할 수 있다. 기존의 전자문화지도는 2차원 지도(베이스맵)에 점, 선, 면 데이터를 활용해 정보를 표현하는 방법이 대부분이다. 이는 3차원 공간을 2차원 평면으로 표현하기 때문에 지리적 왜곡, 입체감 결여 등의 문제점을 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 구글 어스에서 제공하는 3차원 형태의 지도서비스를 활용하여 전자문화지도를 설계한다. 전자문화지도는 문화(주제), 시간, 공간 데이터를 조합하여 검색이 가능하며 이는 지역연구의 방법으로 활용할 수 있다. 또한 3차원 지도를 활용해 시각적인 효과를 높임으로써 사용자의 사용성 및 이해도를 향상시킬 수 있다.

문화지도는 문화와 관련된 다양한 양상들을 점, 선, 기호 등으로 표현하여 지도에 나타낸 것이며, 전자문화지도는 이 지도를 효율성과 편리성을 위하여 컴퓨터를 이용하여 디지털 파일이나 데이터베이스화 시킨 것이다. 이러한 문화지도를 활용하면 해외지역 연구 결과를 시각적으로 표현할 수 있어서, 연구 결과를 보다 이해하기 쉽게 되고 새로운 연구에 대한 기초 자료로 활용이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 해외지역 문화, 특히 지중해지역을 위한 전자문화 지도의 접목에 대하여 연구한다. 세부적으로 문화양식, 문화유산, 문화생활과 같은 다양한 문화 양상을 식별하기 위한 문화 분류, 문화지도 구성을 제시한다.

지속적인 정보기술의 발전은 사회를 성장시킴과 동시에 사용자에게 더 많은 정보와 요구사항을 발생시킨다. 이에 따라 최근 디지털 융합 기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며 학문 분야에서의 디지털 융합은 새로운 학문으로서 다양한 방안으로 활용될 수 있다. 전자문화지도는 전자지도상에 문화정보를 디지털화하여 표현한 것이다. 세부적으로 점, 선, 면의 공간데이타와 연계하여 문화정보를 나타낼 수 있으며 시간, 공간(지도), 주제(문화) 세 가지 축을 기반으로 문화정보를 다양하게 표현할 수 있다. 따라서 전자문화지도는 인문 지역 연구를 위한 방법으로 활용될 수 있으며 결과물을 전자문화지도를 통해 전시함으로써 연구결과를 확산시킬 수 있다. 기존의 전자문화지도는 2차원 형태의 이미지 지도를 기반으로 하는 것이 대부분이다. 그러나 이 방법은 지역이나 공간에 대한 입체적이고 사실적인 정보제공이 어렵고 지도 확대 시 이미지 깨짐 현상과 같은 문제점이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점 해결하기 위하여 3차원 지도 서비스인 구글어스(Google Earth)를 활용하여 지역연구를 위한 전자문화지도를 설계 및 구현한다.

최근에 전자문화지도에 대한 관심이 늘어나면서 다양한 주제를 기반으로 한 전자문화지도들이 연구 및 개발되고 있는 추세이다. 그러나 기존의 전자문화지도들은 대부분 단일 주제로 제작되므로 주제들 간의 연관성 분석이 어렵고, 전자문화지도들이 서로 연계되어 있지 않아 다양한 관점을 기반으로 한 활용이 미흡한 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 하나의 전자문화지도에 레이어 기능을 활용하여 다양한 주제들을 표현하는 방안을 제시한다. 또한, 이를 기반으로 전자문화지도에서의 주제별 중첩 기능을 활용하여 주제들 간의 연계 관계를 효율적으로 파악하고 다양한 주제들의 연관 관계를 통해 새로운 지식을 도출해 낼 수 있는 활용 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

최근에 IT융합에 대한 관심이 높아지는 시점에서 문화지도DB, 전자문화지도와 같이 학제 간 연구의 성격을 띠는 학문에 대한 연구 또한 활발하다. 전자문화지도는 기본적으로 다양한 문화적 양상을 점, 선, 면, 기호 등을 활용해 지도위에 나타내며 사용자는 주제, 공간, 시간 값의 조작을 통해 세 가지 값이 연계된 정보를 획득할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전자문화지도 기반의 학술지도를 구현한다. 본 시스템은 효율적인 학문동향 파악 및 학술 정보제공 시스템으로 활용 가능할 것으로 판단되며 세부적으로 인문, 지역학을 연구할 수 있는 방안으로 활용하고자 한다.

문화지도는 지도라는 인터페이스를 활용하여 문화와 관련된 여러 가지 주제들을 지도위에 나타내는 것이며, 이는 해당지역에 대한 문화(주제), 지역(공간), 시대(시간) 라는 세 가지 값을 동시에 활용하여 해당지역의 시대별 문화를 통합적으로 이해할 수 있다. 전자문화지도는 이러한 문화지도를 전자적 형태 즉, 컴퓨터를 활용해 구현한 시스템으로 주제, 공간, 시간 값의 메타데이터를 활용해 조합이 가능하도록 데이터베이스화한 개념이다. 이는 시대별 지역별 주제별 정보들을 사용자 스스로가 조합해서 조회가 가능하다는 의미이다. 본 논문에서는 해외지역, 특히 지중해지역 중심의 연구를 위한 전자문화지도를 설계한다. 이는 인문, 지역학과 IT의 융합학으로서, 해외지역을 연구하는 도구 및 연구결과물의 전시 도구로 활용할 수 있다.

Chinease-Korean Cultural Map, which is an electronic cultural map that shows Chinese-Korean culture on maps, is planned as the first step to development Asian Electronic Cultural Map. Chinese-Korean have their unique cultural characteristics same as other small tribes. Small tribes shows same typical cultural characteristics of Asian, and that characteristics are very important factors for understanding the whole Asian culture. This paper proposes a logical and standardized development methodology for construction of Electronic Cultural Map. The methodology consists of 6 steps; information analysis, keyword extraction, keyword clustering, map element extraction, prototype design, and map development. We used and evaluated the methodology during prototype design and development steps for the optimal functions. To generate the base maps for Chinese-Korean Cultural Map, we use Google Earth and KML(Keyhole Markup Language) for standardized and easy development.

According to continuous development of information technology, it is needed to make convergence of other disciplines such as humanities and area studies. Among convergence fields related to information technology and humanities/area studies, electronic cultural atlas represents various digitalized cultural information on electronic map using spatial data such as points, lines, and polygons through time, spatial, and subject axises. Knowledge map is to represent special academic information based on electronic cultural atlas. In details, knowledge map can provide integrated information sharing and spread because academic information associated with electronic cultural atlas and data related to per subjects, regions, and period become organically connected. Therefore, knowledge map may be utilized to promote scholastic research and diffuse research result. In this paper, we describe basic concept and composition of knowledge map and propose design method to construct knowledge map.

According to the growing interest in the digital convergence throughout society, the convergence of creative and new forms is emerging recently in various fields. Research methods to explore the diversity of academic studies have been studied in the field of study. As one of these methods, research on electronic cultural atlas that has features of convergence studies is gradually spreading. In this paper, we examine existing electronic cultural atlas and then, compare and analyze them. In details, existing electronic cultural atlas are comparative analyzed on the basis of base map, interface, and function. Through the results of comparative analysis, the efficient production of electronic cultural atlas are examined.

This research aims at developing an electronic culture atlas using smart phones as a way to share the research results of Mind Humanities. An electronic atlas offers the web service of a great deal of information without the limitation of paper, which is different from the existing paper maps. When the concept of culture is added to an electronic atlas, it becomes an electronic culture atlas. To create an application program using smartphones, their various features should be understood and the development method to maximize them is necessary. Accordingly, in this paper, what needs to be taken into consideration for the service based on smartphones and the characteristics of smartphones to be considered in the development process were examined.
