This study suggests a scheme to activate an e-book service through the analysis on the cause of low usage of the services in academic libraries. The data analysis of e-book circulation records was performed for the purpose of preparing the scheme. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were used for basic data analysis. Also, t-test, ANOVA, non-parametric chi-square, and correlation analysis were used to examine whether there are any significant differences between treatment groups divided by gender and major.

With the rapid and broad changes of information media and information environment the traditional libraries have been evolving into the digital libraries. An analysis for the Planning and realization of the electronic resource management system was carried out to establish the various electronic resources in the digital library, the first in Korea. The study targeted from electronic journals, web-based databases, e-books, and to open access resources. The focus of the analysis lies in the Providing practical integrated electronic resource management for digital librarian based on the framework of effective Electronic Resource Management Initiative(ERMI) of Digital Library Federation(DLF) with network and electronic resource description. The analyses included life-cycle, subscription models, coverages. types of information provider for electronic resources. and system organization for implementation of electronic resource management system.

This study aims to evaluate the usability for improving quality of Hoseo university digital library website. Compatibility of web browser and loading speed are analyzed in using Doctor HTML and Web Site Garage, and seven major attributes of website. that is navigation, functionality, user control language and contents. system and user feedback, consistency, architectural and visual clarify, are analyzed and evaluated in using online questionnaire method. Finally this paper was suggested some problems and improvements of that website mentioned above, and general guidelines of website construction based on usability in university digital library in korea.

A collection development policy is the library's master plan that provides library's long/short-term plans. It also informs the community of the library's commitment in collection development. However, in Korea, libraries which maintain such a policy are not yet to be easily found. Furthermore, due to increasing importance of electronic resources, libraries are gradually required to have electronic resource management policy that reflects a change in the information environment. The purpose of this study is to suggest a model electronic resource management policy in academic libraries. It derived and verified more than thirty preliminary elements from literature and case studies. The elements were modified and supplemented, and as a result, the selection criteria gained the highest marks. The findings can be applied for selecting the elements of digital collection development policy in the university library and reorganizing them so as to meet its peculiarities. This study, finally, presents a model that includes a guideline for the university library which will establish digital collection development policy.

According to analysis of responses to the user's demand of theological seminary libraries, the best category of demands is ‘Circulations’ and acceptancy is ‘Electroic Collections.’And the highest type of acceptancy is ‘Improvement of Services.’It is necessary to raise the current acceptancy rate of 49.6％ up to 70∼80% which leads to high level of user satisfaction in the university libraries.

With development in computing and networking technologies, national supports and attention for building digital library, which is to overcome the limits of time and location in using information resources, is increasing. To accomplish the main goal of digital library that is to freely share and transfer information on network, the importance of standardization in developing electronic document is increasing. Now several tools to develop electronic document, which will be used in digital library, are developed for electronic document used on WWW. But none of them has absolute advantages to other formats. Those tools, that is, have comparative advantages and disadvantages for making electronic documents. Through reviewing features and analyzing comparative advantage and disadvantage of SGML, HTML, and PDF, which will be used to develop electronic documents in digital libraries, this study focuses on their comparative advantages and disadvantages. With doing it, this study propose relevant type of electronic document formats to the types of information resources.

This research surveyed college students in Korea on their satisfaction for e-book services provided by university libraries. Their usage behavior was investigated, and the satisfaction rate for e-book usage and its service quality were analyzed to comprehend the status of e-book usage. The analysis showed that overall satisfaction for e-book service of university libraries was 2.93 on average. Moreover, the more frequently a student used the service, the more satisfied the student was; junior/senior-level and graduate school student groups showed higher satisfaction for e-book service than freshman and sophomore students. The most influential factor for satisfaction based on the e-book service quality was the content of the service, followed by the library support service system. Based on the findings, reinforcement of library public relations and user education, and the maintenance of the variety and up-to-date status of the contents were proposed to stimulate future university library e-book services.

The researcher conducts the survey through questioner method and analyzed the data in detail about E-resources available at SRM University library. The objectives of the study are to find out the awareness of use and purposes and their level of satisfaction of users. Further the researcher identifies the barrier and the ways and means of improvement of the use of E-resources. A total of 1,205 respondent was participating in this survey.
