Stabilization of High-Voltage Static Var Compensator Using Switching Velocity and Temperature Control (스위칭 속도 및 온도 제어를 사용한 고압용 정지형 무효전력 보상장치의 안정화)

  • In the paper, velocity controller of switching module and temperature controller for the high-voltage static var compensator are proposed. Because of the continuous increase in demand for electric power, transmission and distribution facilities of power plant are required. There is a bottleneck problem of transportation routes according to new construction and expansion of power transmission facilities. Therefore there are researches to maximize the utilization of existing facilities and to increase transmission capacity without new construction. The previous static var compensator detects voltage of input circuit of power, switches the SCR directly and generates switching noise. The proposed method increases switching velocity and decreases noise using switching control based on the voltage between both sides of SCR. Also the proposed method enhance the stability using realtime temperature control for heating of the system from increase of switching velocity. We experiment the velocity and temperature control of the proposed high-voltage static var compensator in the real environment and verify the performance of the proposed system by applying in the real field.

  • DC transit system has been adopted in the metropolitan area, Korea since 1974. Electric multiple (EMU) in this system always reiterates that acceleration and retardation. When EMU decelerates using electric breaking, regenerative power occurs. Regenerative power can be consumed in vicinity EMU on the same line or in resistor. If DC transit system has inverter for reusing regenerative power, Energy efficiency in DC transit system and the replacement cycle of brake shoe in EMU will be increased and dust due to mechanical braking decreased. This paper present the developed inverter for regenerative power and its test equipment. Test for developed inverter is performed at test equipment and is divided into three items, which are regeneration mode, active filter mode, and system link test.

변환시설 발생 해체금속폐기물의 용용제염처리

  • 변환시설의 해체 시 발생한 해체폐기물은 2009년 현재까지 약 354톤이며, 이들 중 탱크, 배관, 반응기, 펌프류 동의 해체금속폐기물이 약 191톤으로 54% 를 차지하고 있다. 이들 해체금속폐기물은 제염 처리공정을 통하여 전량 자체처분폐기물로 전환시키는 것을 목표로 두고 있다. 이는 오염된 금속류를 효과적으로 제염한 다음 자체처분시킴으로서 방사성폐기물에 대한 처분비용을 저감할 수 있기 때문이다. 해체금속폐기물 중 스테인레스강 해체폐기물은 질산 용액을 사용한 초음파화학제염공정으로 제염한 후 자체처분폐기물로 53톤을 전환하였다. 탄소강 해체물의 경우 스팀제염공정으로 제염한 결과 제영 효율은 좋았으나 변환시설 가동 중 유지 보수를 위하여 페인팅을 하였던 해체물의 경우 페인트를 제거하지 않을 경우 스팀제염장치로는 제염이 안 되었다. 탄소강 해체금속폐기물은 약 117톤 발생하였으며, 이들 중 모터, 펌프 등을 제외한 제염 대상 폐기물은 약 80톤이며, 이들을 용융 제염 및 감용을 위하여 기초 연구를 수행한 결과를 바탕으로 약 180kg/batch 용량의 금속용융제염 설비를 제작 설치하여 탄소강 해체금속폐기물 용융제염 처리를 수행 중에 있다. 금속용융은 장치가 간단하고 폐기물 처리량이 비교적 적고 단속적인 운전에 매우 효과적인 고주파 유도로를 사용하였다. 용융장치는 고주파 발진장지와 용해로체로 구성된 고주파 유도설비와 냉각계통으로 구성된다. 고주파발진장치는 철제 200kg을 용해할 수 있는 용량을 갖추었으며, 실험 및 실제 처리 등 용해로체의 크기 변경이 필요할 경우에는 고주파발진기의 출력 주파수를 변경할 수 있게 하였다. 용융 장치의 발진기 부분의 입력전원은 3상, 440V, 60Hz 이며, 출력전원은 200kW, 출력주파수는 lkHz, 3kHz, 5kHz로 구성되어 있으며, 회당 180kg 의 폐기물을 용융할 시에는 3kHz로 고정하여 사용하였다. 용해로체 부분 중 고주파유도가열부는 heating coil 및 절연부로 구성되어 있고, 그 외 support frame과 lever로 구성되어 있다. 용해로체와 고주파 발진장치의 냉각을 위한 냉각설비는 냉각기와 냉매의 저장을 위한 저장조로 구성되어 있으며, 냉각기의 용량은 20RT 이다. 용융로체의 직경은 약 28cm로 크기가 큰 해체물의 장입이 어려워 작은 크기로 세절을 해야만 하며,용융로의 용량을 증가시킬 경우 해체물을 작은 크기로 세절하는 비용을 절감할 수 있을 것이다. 용융 중 시료 채취는 매 배치마다 수행하였으며, 그림3과 같은 시료 채취용 주형 틀에 국자모양의 채취기로 채취하였다. 해체물의 용융시 ingot를 생성하기 위해서 주형틀에 용융물을 장입하기 전 시료를 채취하였다 그림4는 생성된 ingot이며, 이들의 방사능 농도는 배치마다 차이는 있지만 최대 0.05 Bq/g 이하로 나타나 자체처분 폐기물로 전량 전환 가능하였다 그림5 는 해체물에 함유된 우라늄과 불순물을 제거한 슬래그로 방사능농도는 약 12Bq/g 으로 나타났으며, 이들의 발생량은 약 3wt% 정도로 폐기물 발생량이 작았다. 따라서 금속폐기물의 경우 용융제염으로 처리할 경우 폐기물 발생량을 최대로 줄일 수 있어 처리 효율이 기타 처리 공정보다 효율적인 것으로 판단된다.

ATPDraw Simulation for Transient Phenomena Analysis of Electrical Shock Underwater (수중 전격 과도현상 해석을 위한 ATPDraw 시뮬레이션)

  • This paper describes the analysis of transient phenomena on the point that a human body suffers an electrical shock. A couple of case studies were discussed by using an ATPDraw simulation tool. Two models for the case studies were constructed on the assumption that the electrical shock event takes place under water to simulate the severest condition ; the first model that the human body contacts with an energized part exposed to water ; the second model that both hands and feet simultaneously contact with the ground under water. After modeling, the transient phenomena for the models were analyzed by comparing the voltages and currents calculated at each part of the human body. As a result steep front kicks in voltage and current were observed as transient phenomena on the point that the human body contacts with the energized part exposed to water in the first model and the magnitudes of the kicks considerably increased. It was considered however, the effect of the kicks due to the commercial power source on the human body could be neglected because the product of the current through the body and the short duration is less than the safety limit. When both hands and feet simultaneously contact with the ground in the second model, the voltage generally decreased all over the body parts, while the current flowing through the chest abruptly increased. The duration of this current was very shot, as well, thus its effect on the electrical shock is considered insignificant. After all, it was confirmed through the simulation results that the electrical shock depends on the magnitude in voltage and the body impedance.

  • Power quality problems caused by feeder voltage drop and extension construction cost problems can occur with the increasing utilization rates of the existing fixed-type EV (electric vehicle) charger. Moreover, EV users might not be able to access the EV charger due to a lack of EV charging facilities. Therefore, this paper proposes an MPSD (movable power supply device) for EVs to overcome user inconvenience caused by the insufficient number of chargers and extension cost issues. The proposed MPSD was mainly composed of a PV (photovoltaic) system, ESS (energy storage system), EV charging system, and monitoring and control system. Furthermore, there are three operation modes available to enhance the flexibility of the MPSD application, depending on the situation. This paper also presents an economical evaluation modeling using the present worth method to consider the cost and benefit elements. The simulation results based on proposed modeling showed that MPSD is more economical than the existing EV charger. Moreover, its profit can be increased significantly depending on the distance to the installation point.

  • Owing to the increase in the penetration of distributed generation the DGs connected to the distribution system have an effect on the system conditions of the transmission system and neighboring distribution systems. This makes the separate analysis of the transmission and distribution system no longer valid and requires the consideration of both the system in the analysis process. This paper proposes a transmission/distribution integrated analysis hybrid algorithm that would ensure the accurate analysis of the system by reflecting the results of the transmission and distribution system analysis on each other. Different scenarios are being analysed in order to verify the effectiveness of the hybrid algorithm by observing the effects of the DG connected distribution system on the transmission system and neighboring distribution systems. The algorithm and simulations performed are being conducted by MATLAB and the IEEE 30 bus system and a test distribution system has been utilized for the transmission and distribution systems respectively.

  • 태양광 발전은 다른 발전방식과는 달리 연료비가 불필요하고 대기오염이나 폐기물 발생이 없으며 부위가 반도체 소자이고 제어부가 전자제품이므로 기계적인 진동과 소음 등의 공해가 전혀 없는 에너지원이다. 그러나 태양광 발전은 에너지 밀도가 낮아 일사량, 온도, 계절 등 기상조건의 작은 변화에도 발전량의 편차가 심하고 출력이 불안정하여 상용전원과의 연계나 별도의 축전설비 또는 발전설비 없이 독립적으로 사용하기에는 다소 무리가 있다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 1년 동안 실증운전을 통한 종합적인 운전특성 데이터, 태양전지 어레이 출력의 전압 전류, 교류 전력 및 전력량, 일사량 및 모듈의 온도, 외기온도 등 분석기간 동안 수집된 운전 데이터를 이용하여 태양이 태양전지 모듈에 입사되는 각과 발전량 즉 태양 전지 어레이 형태와 발전량과의 상관관계를 정량적으로 규명하여 태양광 발전시스템의 설계 및 시공의 최적화가 이루어질 수 있도록 하였다.

  • Recently, ozone is utilized in various fields and its needs are expanding. Therefore, so many ozone generation methods have been reported in the last year, its main purpose is to get the high ozone concentration and to improve the ozone yield one of them is a Co-axial cylinder-type ozonizer. In this paper, a new ozonizer, which is using radio-frequency power supply, is fabricated to investigate discharge characteristics and ozone generation characteristics in accordance wish variation of grip spacing of electrodes.

  • As the developing of industry, the nonlinear equipments as inverter, converter, SMPS(Switching Mode Power Supply) and motor have been increased. But the sensitive electronic loads to the power quality, such as computers and other electronic equipments, have been spreaded out very fast. Thus, the power quality(PQ) problems and the real time power quality monitering(PQM) are one of the important issues in industry and building area for the intelligent control of the systems. One of them, PQM using PLC(Power Line Communication) have good merits that can send and receive the PQ information without any new network line. This paper presents the PQM hardware and software to monitor the PQ information by using PLC that meets the categories of IEEE Std. 1159.

  • In paper, propose new partial resonance ZCS PWM controlled High frequency insulating Full-bridge DC/DC converter not using exciting current of high frequency transformer. It is compared with the existing principles in characteristics. It also realizes a widely stabilized ZVS operating using new ON-OFF control method at synchronized power rectification MOSFET of high frequency insulating transformer secondary. Besides, it is brought over 97[%] measurement efficiency by proposed DC-DC converts. It is proved effectiveness of new methods using DC UPS PWM rectifier as switching power supply.
